50c up every day till BF? To $9?

    • +1

      Advance Australia fair!

      • That’s why I support the Stage 3 tax cuts!

    • +3

35, then you need to start cancelling services before you can activate anymore.

      • do you know how I can cancel services? I have received error messages when trying to place an order. Must be that I have reached that limit!

        • Call or live chat.

          • @MiscOzB: Thanks! When you say 35, does it mean that all 35 are active with service? Under my name, I only have 2 active SIMs, but the rest are all expired

            • +2

@Terencey: Would be 35 under your name, as I also have a heap that are expired but was still at the limit. So still need to deactivate even if they're "expired".

            • +3

@Terencey: I believe at least it takes a full 6months before a number becomes deactivated completely from your account, being removed from the 35 quota. If u live with someone else, can always ask their permission to use their ID for potential 70 active at once 😈

      • do you know if cashback is still eligible if i cancel the number before cashback is approved?

        • +1

          What do you think?

      • Have some numbers removed today and still getting an error. A total waste of time + disappointment.

        • Yeah but $6 profit haha

    • +1

These would be worthwhile if the data and Sim lasted 365 days and would get a few as a backup. Folk's were left without a phone during the Optus fk up and a lot of people couldn't even use the emergency dialling. Assume data lasts only 30 days and requires a recharge.

      • +3

So you would like a one year sim with calls and data for $12, and make a $6 profit on it? Wouldn't we all.

        • ha, no not asking for that much, if they weren't worried about too much data there would be cheaper stuff around than the 365 Boost deals for $150-170.

          • @G-rig: Just buy one each month

            • -2

@sween64: stuff that - effort time and wastage. ha

              • @G-rig: Yep. Once a month is too often. I can do every 6 months not 1

                • @CyberMurning: Once a year is enough for me.
On my 3rd boost 365, brilliant.

                  • @G-rig: But recharge boost is way too expensive. Mine expired in 10 days and I am looking to port out

                    • @CyberMurning: yeah have to time it and make sure your data lasts, anything would be fine for a month in between. I never recharge.

  • +9

$2 bonus still works. 482 slots right now, and they appear to top it up occasionally.

    • +3

Shopback plans to dominate the cashback sale on Boost during this period.

    • Where is it? Doesn't appear in my app anywhere.
      Maybe I need to update.

      • Not sure, if you're on browser though the link should take you right to it.

        • No joy updating the app, but showed up on the desktop. Cheers bud!

  • +7

Tempting, but I feel like I am doing more then $6 of work for each sim. Always getting errors with both buying and activating.

    • +1

I was only able to activate using Edge, Chrome was no good, try that

    • It is, and these are great if in the market to replace an expiring spare or two. Although there are some greedy sods who like to buy 25+ just for the profit. Headshaking stuff indeed.
I'd rather $0 profit and for these deals to last longer as they are great as a second sim. Buy one a month at a cost of $0 rather than many just for the profit..

      • +4

I would be a greedy sod and buy 25+ sims if it was easy. Don't even need the SIMs.

        • +2

It is greedy, and a lot of work for chump change, my time is worth more than that.

25 Sims that all have to be activated within 30 days is a waste and a hassle.
Cashbacks don't always work and you may have to follow some up, plus the long tracking to get your money back.

      • Greedy? Deals last longer? Have you seen the history of these profitable SIMs?
That’s fine if you dont want to hustle as much as others who put in the effort but calling them greedy sod when it doesn’t disadvantage others is just ignorance. Not everyone is financially stable and especially with this bs inflation corporate greed you should be taking note of how to hustle more to keep up.

        • +3

Well the way i see this… it just like deposit a fund into their account… it takes 90 days to reimburse the fund for a small fee and data in return.

Meanwhile, with the sale revenue they can invest to some where else.

Not to mention some people probably won’t get track the sim transaction or not bother much since only about $12-17 loss, while happy with the data or international call usages etc as compensation to the money spent.

      • +2

These deals have been going consistently since March 2022.

  • has anyone who gets the "something went wrong" error tried every day and one day suddenly worked

curious if i should keep trying or give it a rest for a month

    • +1

Yeah I was able to buy another SIM a few days ago, after not being able to get past the "something went wrong" error for the CR $6 deal a while back. But I did have one service deactivated later because I needed to activate another (was at the 35 limit), so may have something to do with that.

      • Not true, I only have 13 services and still cannot buy LoL

    • hoping someone can comment if they've tried over 3 days in a row

i've seen a few with success after a single failed attempt

    • @mantra I got the "something wrong" message last month. Worked recently on CR and 2 days ago on SB (bought one). Want to buy another one but got "something wrong" again today with this deal and previous deal.
Have tried app, PC, Chrome, Edge, different address, payment card etc.

@MiscOzB This is the first time I've 26 numbers in my account and 5 numbers have expired. Cashback on the expired is in Dec/Jan. Can I ask Boost to remove the expired 5 and still receive the cashback pending? Thanks

      • Yes you can delete numbers, all you need to do is activate them.
I've deleted lots before the cashback was approved and never had one denied, I've also had ones approved and payed out that still havn't been activated but do that at your own risk, YMMV when not activating.

        • Thanks. I activated a few numbers about 2 days late. Will find out in Jan if they are paid

        • How long does it take for the cashback to be approved in your experience? Does it take the full 3 months per the estimate?

      • Should be fine, nothing in T&Cs that say otherwise. As long as it was activated within 30 days of ordering, you should get the cashback.

        • Thanks. Will delete some numbers tomorrow and hope I can buy a SIM

        • @MiscOzB Still 'something wrong' this afternoon after removing the expired numbers and trying again with different card, address, email. Only have one ShopBack account in the household

      • Tried again with different email, address (with typo) and another payment but still "Sorry, something wrong" Sigh

        • :-(
Oh some of my wrong addresses don't work, others do, try different address errors that the postal system will still get it to you.

      • already tried this with different IP but using an entirely different address of someone i know

had used my up bank digital zap card as my physical card months ago worked until something went wrong
boost had never accepted my ubank card, nor my commbank step pay, so i don't bother with these anymore

in september it stopped accepting my CBA awards saver but 10% off coles mastercard digital gift card worked great

        • They accepted my Ubank tonight then it triggered again, switched to Bendigo and back in business.

        • Think when I run outa different payment details I'll report a card stolen, surely the new card would have a different card number.

  • How do boost make money on these are they relying on people actually recharging after the 30 days.

    • That, and they're offloading Sims that have a 12 month or less expiry, I think…

      • +1

Most of the sim cards I have from them are quite long expirys.

    • +4

artificially inflating numbers for investors? most of us don't ask boost to remove numbers because 35 limit, big numbers = happy investors, at least for the short term, mobile numbers eventually expire, numbers in service will go down

cannot imagine they'll continue increasing cashback to keep that trajectory

      • +1

That would make sense. That has happened lots with web hosting. Some crazy deals like 50c for a lifetime hosting, only for the company to be taken over or fold within weeks/months.

  • +3

Shut up and take my money.

    • Actually in this case it kinda ends up being them saying it to us 😂

      • +3

        I don't care, I love it.

  • going to stick to 3 Sims per month, good deal

  • I still don’t fully understand what people do with these SIM cards. Are you buying a stack of them, and then every month porting out to another provider and then back in to a new Boost sim?

    • +2

some Sim slut, port in and out, some do it just for the profit, activate stacks of them and use for new sign up offers or let them sit

      • +9

I've retired thanks to Boost sim deals with profit. Living the dream.

      • Any good easy new sign up bonuses you can use these for?

    • +3

If like myself, I just buy one a month and use it as second sim in phone for data or as a backup should NBN go down

    • +1

Thanks for explaining. Seems like too much effort for me. Do I lose my Ozbargain membership now?

    • Pop it in a $39 MF910Y wifi hotspot. Data for my laptop, iPad, Switch.

      • Or use a spare phone as a Hotspot.
Using just for data, the different phone number with each SIM doesn't matter.

  • +1

When try to activate boost sim’s always show something went wrong this message! So annoying. Every time need to live chat to activate

  • +1

If I buy one everyday during this BF promotion period, will I get flagged and have something went wrong message?

    • You might get swatted if you buy too many.

  • " Cashback is qualified only for New Boost customers". So… is that mean when I'm ordering/activating the second sim, I'll need to use a different email to qualified the 2nd cashback?

    • +2

Nope, it just means you need to get a new number instead of porting in.

      • TA :)

  • Profile pic checks out

  • Encountered my first activating problems.

  • I seem to be getting 65Gb data out of the SIM that should only include 50Gb. Anyone else noticed this? Happened the last 7-8 times for me.

    • You just broke the 1st rule of Boost sim deals with profit.

      • why?

    • Recently had Boost SIM operate for only data - weeks past 28 days. Data seemed unlimited.
Needed to restart phone & it ended.

  • How does this work? So you buy using the link on shopback, and you get the cashback after activating the SIM?

Another question, how long is the expiry pre-activation? Need a SIM for a family member coming to Australia in December.

    • Buy the sim using the cashback link, receive it, activate it within 30 days, Cashback will take time to approve

  • +1

guys, i cant activate new sim cards since yesterday, i try different network, pc and use different ID, all gave me error, something went wrong

anyone else having the same issue? how to fix it other than live chat?

    • Try it again at another time.

      • That worked for me👍
Tried several times with error, tried next day - worked.

      • Question was about problem with Activation of SIM after purchase

Your advice was answer to forum question ""something went wrong" error when trying to purchase sim"

        • True, my oversight.

          • @Aidan0098: Yes, most questions here are about problems when purchasing!
            Just mentioned so others know

  • +1

$8 profit and 65GB Telstra data to hotspot, not bad

  • +1

    Question (and please be kind as I don't know if this is somehow a dumb question yet);

Given this is real SIM only, if I've currently parked my number on Aldi which is also a hard sim, have I done this wrong? Should I be parking my 'good' number on an e-sim (like Amaysim) so I can keep using Boost month-to-month and keep getting Cashback on a throwaway #?

    • Easy, port your aldi number to a telco with eSIM (including amaysim)
