Decent powerbank, no LiPo rubbish

I have about 4 Romoss 30Ah powerbanks that I have bought really cheap over the years, very convenient, but I am a bit concerned about the fire risk especially considering a couple of them, the case has started to expand ever so much and I have found out they are LiPo batteries which are prone to swelling. I'm going to chuck them out, can anyone recommend a decent good quality USB powerbank (don't mind spending some money) around 30Ah which would have lithium ion cells (which I assumed these had) or even better lifepo4. The only decent ones I can find are obscure brands and that kings one but it is too big.

    • Thanks, looks good

  • Is rolling your own and option??? But some LiFePo 18650 and a suitable battery case from AliExpress. Can make it any size you want and what ever batteries you want.

I make heaps of portable batteries out of used and discarded LiLo batteries from various discarded electronics.

    • Concerned about fire risk, I bought a case years ago from aliexpress and it was very poor quality.

  • I think you should only buy non-Chinese branded, Chinese made Powerbanks!

Just buy a Romoss fire extinguisher to sit alongside them

  • Buy a Makita or Milwalkee 5A/hr battery when they're on sale. I got a Makita mid last year 5 amp for $99 pull it apart or get the USB attachment (if you have their charger).
I dremel the month and year into my cordless batteries and still have good ones from 2015, that I use in my drills at home. Been thinking of pulling them down and making a powerbank from a cheap case from Aliexpress for about $5.
If you put new cordless batteries in a PB case, you should get 7+ years out of it, but the charge rate won't be fast.

If you get an ebay copy you'd be lucky to get 1.5 years
