Medium Roasted Coffee Beans 500g $9.90 (Normally $32.80) Delivered @ La Mocha

1310

Got this via a Facebook ad. These coffee roasters have a cafe up in Springfield Lakes (Brisbane) and are offering a 500g sample pack for $9.90 delivered.

Of course ALDI are the way to go but if you like freshly roasted beans works out as the cheapest current deal. Coffee bean deals. Might be good to fill the gap between the next Inglewood deal.

  • Ill give them ago and support an aussie buisness.

The cafe has a solid 4.8 star review

  • Yep, I bought a sample pack. @neil, have you tried this blend? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

    • Nope, never tried. I have an overstock of coffee at the moment. I've got my ALDI beans and another unopened 1kg of coffee I got as a gift. Some comments from the previous La Mocha deal though

  • Bloody fantastic deal!

  • +5

Good offer - worth a shot (no pun intended)

    • +2

YOU KNEW what you were doing

  • Omg finally a place i can go to because its local to me!

Their coffee isn't half bad either. It was my go to coffee place here before I bought my own machine

  • +1

I also ordered 500g, even though I've got 1kg of Brightside beans left (highly recommended if you see them on sale).

Happy to support these guys, although the branding is giving me dark, bitter coffee vibes.

    • +1 for Brightside; presumably their branding is more to your liking?

      • Why would the branding be the factor here?

Is that Brightside some extraordinarily looking web coffee shop?

        • +3

Branding wouldn't affect the coffee at all; I only raised branding as Oldmate88 mentioned that the branding for this deal was giving him "dark, bitter coffee vibes". Brightside's branding is decidedly not that: https://brightside.coffee/

Branding aside, I really like Brightside's Good Times and Among Friends blends; I'll give this deal from La Mocha go as well to try it out.

Ordered the last deal which came with 1kg of hot choccy. Their beans I was pleasantly surprised with

  • I'm not sure if this is helping the business, but great deal regardless!

  • Thanks for highlighting this deal. Hoping to branch out from your usual coffee bean suppliers!

  • That is cheap as a deal, but I mean, $66 is a steep price for locally roasted coffee.

    • Where did you get $66 from??

      • +1

        The normal price per kg

        • It's $39.90 for 1KG of beans + $13.90 Shipping. So $53.80. They have a $10 off $20 for new customers so $43.80.

      • +2

"Medium Roasted Coffee Beans 500g $9.90 (Normally $32.80)"

        $32.80 x 2 = $65.60

        • Yes, if you bought 2 500 gram bags in 2 orders with 2 $9.90 shipping on each order and not use the sign up offer then yes $65.60. LOL.

        • Why someone would that?
          They also have S&S 1kg for 12 delivery/ over 12 month at $406.9, that is $33.9 /kg delivered..

          • -1

@huntabargain: You asked how not why.

But maybe they were trying to suggest the RRP for the sample seemed a bit inflated at $66 vs the normal sell price per kg.

Probably more apt to compare the sample pack at $32.80 to 500g at $22.90?

  • How much is pickup?

  • Ordered, didn't even think twice!

  • Thanks Neil! Ordered one to give it a go

  • i ordered one to give a try

  • Thanks. Will give it a go

  • Just missed out D:

    • I'm not sure if the deal got turned off for a while earlier, but I just bought one. You have to go to the checkout to get the 100% discount, which brings the price down to just the $9.90 shipping.

      • It sold out for like 4 hours but then came back re-stocked.

      • +1

Thanks a lot for the heads up mate! Just got one

      • I get to checkout and have

        Subtotal
        $22.90
        Shipping
        $13.90
        Total
        AUD
        $36.80

Aldi is definitely not the way to go 😂 anyone with some form of tastebuds knows what fresh roasted beans, or decent roasted beans taste like. I don’t know what this roaster is like, but $10 for 500g is a really good deal considering!

Places like Normcore coffee are offering 2kg for $70, free shipping. And this roaster is rated highly

    • +3

I have tried all Aldi beans, regardless of freshness, i have had them 1 week from roast. I just can't see the appeal except the price. It is one dimensional tasting coffee, no depth of flavours compared to local roasters.

      • +1

It’s like wine, not everyone is a wine taster, but can be just a wine lover.

        • Or just a drinker to get drunk xD

    • +1

having used freshly roasted beans for years, I realised the taste to price difference isn’t worth it for me since I have milk with my coffee. I love freshly roasted but not that much, and they go off so quickly. Aldi beans are very consistent and very cheap. Easy as. If you know of better cheap beans let us know!

      • +1

Even with milk, i can taste the difference between freshly roasted premium coffee and cheap supermarket coffee

        • @easternculture which milk do you use ? I bought Airjo Sumatra, using Pura light milk [yellow cap], does not taste as good as in coffee shop. not that far from nescafe

          • +1

@babiguling: Anything thats not budget supermarket brands, but i like the extra fat milk variants for creamy texture

            Are your shots creamy

            • @easternculture: not that creamy… it's light hahahha
              trying to reduce fat

              • @babiguling: My coffee shots are usually creamy. I also froth the milk so it has a nice thick layer at thetop

            • @easternculture: I love extra creamy milk, as well as in coffee. As I'm in Qld I love Malaney extra cream milk,

but go one up and get their extra smooth and thick cream in my coffee ( only 3 teaspoons and 1/8

of nice dark coconut shugar, Yum ). My doctor after a weigh in told me to put a few extra Kilos on,

so one of these per day not doing me any harm lol.

              • +1

@ozhunter68: I grew up drinking fresh cow milk (my mum used to buy it from a cow farmer) so my palate loves the texture. However processed milk is never like the real thing

                • @easternculture: Agree. Have also bought fresh Unhogised and Unpasturised (sold as Bath Milk straight from the

farm in the Byron Hinterland). You had to stir the vat first in order to get the top settled cream mixed

evenly with the rest, sometimes I forgot haha. Soooo good.

Normcore is atrocious probably prefer aldi to this recommendation… normcore is not worth anyones money,…

    • Anything that is $10 for half a kilogram is going to be garbage quality coffee, particularly if you're used to drinking 85+ cup score specialty stuff.

If you go into it knowing what you're buying, and predominantly make milk-based drinks, i'm sure it's drinkable.

  • How can a coffee roaster sell out of beans, so quickly?

    • (1439 clicks)

    • +1

I dont think it has sold out. I just bought a pack 5 mins ago.

  • +1

Can confirm it's back in stock, just ordered

  • Thanks OP, will enjoy these fresh beans.

  • order placed … it was a deal like this that got me to buy from my current coffee roaster 3 years ago

  • showing 22.9 here, offer ended?

    • Yep, expired again. They've pulled the Facebook ads as well.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience. Due to the influx of orders our roasting team is working around the clock. We have over 1 tonne of coffee to roast and we just finished 500kgs this week on top of normal wholesale supply to cafes. We only send freshly roasted beans two days after it has been roasted. We don’t stock old beans. This means it will get roasted and then packed and posted as soon as it has finished. This is the freshest you can get. Your order will be processed according to the queue. You should all receive everything by next week.

Thank you once again for your patience. We hope you enjoy your free La Mocha beans.

    Kind regards,
    La Mocha team

    • Perfect . I normally let my coffee rest for a week before drinking. So it would time nicely. Thanks heaps

    • +1

Thank you for the update. I would much rather wait for fresh beans than to receive them stale.

    • Amazing, thanks for the update.

    • @LaMocha, still roasting away?

      • I got austpost notification, was picked up yesterday afternoon. I ordered straight after the OP post.

  • -2

Me too, and sent by slow boat to Perth. That postage time means no repeat orders from me.

    • +1

Hi, we normally send orders within 1-2 days of order, but due to the influx of orders there was a delay this time. We hope the taste of the beans will make up for the delay. Thank you for your patience. 😊

      • The taste of the beans and the price definitely make up for the delay. Thanks again for delivering great service!

  • +1

Mine just got delivered in Sydney, looking forward to try it out once finish my current beans.

  • Just got delivered today! Can't wait to brew them. Thank you!

  • Got mine today. Cheers

  • Mine arrived today in Melbourne.

    Thanks again OP!

  • Mine arrived today too. Keen to try them tomorrow. Thanks, La Mocha!

  • Got mine last week. Nice coffee for milk based drinks with a good crema. Standard medium roast profile with your usual caramel, toffee kind of notes. Not a fruity kind of bean if that's your thing.

  • +1

Tried mine today, must say I'm really impressed.

  • It's really good for the price. Will buy again. Great promo @LaMocha

  • I just checked delivery details, as I've got enough Lime Blue beans left for tomorrow morning, before I'm out.
Estimated delivery Tue 9th to Fri 12th

Apparently it's visited every state so far, on its way over to WA

  • I just found my favourite coffee, but I can't find you guys anywhere though. I know you're in Springfield but Google maps and your website has no address listed. Am I blind? Would love to visit and pickup some more beans.

  • Great coffee!!
