125

Happy weekend everyone,

PS5 Pro specs have leaked and our team thought we may be able to do something better.

We all know how easy it is to fire up your console and just play a game.

But what if you want to do some work, content creation, web browsing, or run any kind of software?

What if you want to play an older title, run mods in Skyrim or Witcher 3?

Easy with our Zephire build. Plenty of upgrade options if you fancy.

Specs are as followed:

AMD Ryzen 5 8500G
MSI PRO B650M-B DDR5
Lexar 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3x4
CRUCIAL 2x 8GB (16gb) DDR5 DESKTOP MEMORY
DarkFlash Gaming PC Case Tempered Glass ATX Tower
DarkFlash GP750 Power Supply 750 Watts 80Plus Bronze Certified

This is the newest AMD APU! Discrete GPU redundant with this beast of a CPU. 80+ FPS in Fortnite, 100+ FPS In CSGO. Very impressive.

Some of our Super GPU Options:
4070 Super w/ AM5 for only $1699 : Centurion

4080 Super w/ AM5 for only $2999 : Orion

4060 w/ AM4 for $1099: Xion

Intel builds will be featured next week ;)

Happy bargain hunting everyone,

  • 8gb x2 meaning 16gb total?

    Or 8gb x2 meaning 2x4gb

    • 16gb total

This APU rig should have an upgrade option to 32G since APU will share some system memory? The motherboard only has two memory slots.

    • +3

No worries, thank you for your comment. I just added the option to our website.

  • +1

I’m surprised there’s no Ram upgrade option to 32gb as these new apus work best with 8gb+ of ram dedicated to them.

Leaving 8gb for windows, all its bloatware, and the game itself will cause bottlenecks

    • +2

No probs. We added the 32gb option to our website. Windows shouldn't use more than 4GB hopefully. Plenty of memory left for 1080p gaming

  • -1

what performance at 1440p can I expect with modernish games?

  • +11

Yeah I don't know that I'd be pitting this up against a PS5 pro. I reckon you could do much better on the same sort of budget with a dedicated GPU.

…like this one from Techfast for $748

Keep in mind that this has serious PCIe limitations. The 8500g only has 2 lanes going to the NVMe, and 4 lanes on the main PCIe slot. A GPU faster than a 4060 would start to be hampered by the PCIe limitation.

    (And this $748 deal for a 5500+ 4060 is a lot better anyways: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837288)

  • +8

    How is this a deal?
Not only are there better deals (Like Techfast $748 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/837288) .

But you could build these specs yourself individually for less or equal to the price.

    • the problem I have with tech fast is that if I wait literally 2 weeks I can get a better deal than their already amazing ones. Cant decide when I want to buy

Project: Defeat The PS5 w/ AMD Ryzen 5 8500G APU

As far as I can recall PS5's hardware is somewhat comparable with Ryzen 3700x + RX 6650XT GPU (or current gen RX7600).
So Good Luck! if you are hoping to Defeat PS5 with 8500G APU

  • +1

the 8xxxg series is basically designed for a very specific market of SFF's, HTPC's etc
limited pci expansion, performance is pretty good CPU wise but lacks real GPU grunt for gaming.

  • +10

    This isn’t better than a PS5 let alone a PS5 Pro… shit deal… eat my neg vote.

    • So tough!

      • +6

        Only on the internet

  • How long is the warranty on these builds?

    • +1

      always 2 years mate.

"PS5 Pro specs have leaked and our team thought we may be able to do something better."

You team is mad. Replace them lol

  • +2

Should have watched LTT video on this. Linus showed the 8500G is not comparable to even current consoles, let alone refresh specs.

  • +2

No APU for a pc has ever come close to a typical CPU+GPU combination at the same pricepoint.
This thing is not going to give you a good framerate, it is not for gaming.

  • +3

This is false advertising, the iGPU is nowhere near comparable to the PS5s…

  • +2

Misleading title, take my neg you fool

  • @BPC Technology is the 4080 Orion deal still active?
Additionally, if I upgrade to the NZXT H6 Flow RBG case, how many fans are included? I.e. is it just the 3 stock front intake fans + AIO exhaust, or do you add a rear exhaust / bottom mount fans?
