[Damaged] Aquascaping Tool Kit Case $0 Free + $11 Postage ($0 SYD C&C) @ Sydney Aquascapes

460

We have a few damaged cases for aquascaping tools, which we are giving away for free! Grab some before they run out :)

Item is obviously "Free + postage" but unlike the similar marketing tactic, our postage is the actual postage cost. Our postage is also flat no matter how much you get, so this is basically "get one free with every order" and is free if you pickup.

Limit of 1 per customer!!!
Any orders with a quantity of greater than 1 will only be sent 1 item.

This is a case which holds 6 tools of about 30cm in length. The case is perfectly fine only the outside has been damaged due to a bad sticker so we are giving them away.

This is also available IN STORE at Sydney Aquascapes (153/313 Harris St Pyrmont), so if you show up there its 100% free and one per customer.

Thank you!

  • So is it an actual tool kit or just the case?

  • +4

I have learnt a new word.

  • +1

    Looks like just the case

    • Ah yes realised title doesn't say case, added now thanks.

      • Also Damaged should be on title too, otherwise it's misleading.

        • Will do

          • @Brandingo: How much stock do you have?

            • @WatchNerd: We got about 40 cases. It's 1 per customer though.

              • @Brandingo: Why so many damaged cases?

                • +1

@ca6leguy: Was the factories fault: Their stickers melted. The case is perfect otherwise but we can't really sell them like this.

Perfect for storing my used lip balm and lifetime supply of condoms.

    • +9

Sorry to inform you, but IRL isn't D&D ;( Physics has banned infinate bags of holding.

      • I think Sye is saying that one is more than enough for a lifetime supply 😅

        • +4

Plot twist; Sye is Lesbian. :0

    • So like, 2 condoms?

  • -2

I am a tool, can it hold me?

  • +3

Who would pay $11 for a damaged case if the tool kit costs $22.87?

    • +4

No one will pay, but if you are in store why not. It is just a requirement to state postal fees. They aren't making money posting this, at the same time makes no sense for a small business to lose money.

      • -5

They aren't making money posting this

I'm sure this will fit in a large prepaid envelope.

        • Regardless, they still aren't making money by asking you to cover shipping costs.

          • -3

@Schmiddler: If I pay $11 , they made at least $4.50 for for a damaged case. Don't be fooled.

        • +4

I'm sure this will fit in a large prepaid envelope

It might fit but it's not something that should be sent as a letter.

Letter mail needs to be flexible to be able to bend and pass through letter sorting machines.

          If it can't then it's a parcel.

You can even read on the page for the envelope you linked to

IMPORTANT: This envelope is not suitable for sending rigid items
          https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/domestic-letter-with-tra…

And even if they used these envelopes the labour to address and pack them isn't free.

        • As spaceflight said, if we really pressed it down and got custom envelopes which fit it maybe it could fit, but we will be sending them by parcel post anyway (which you can tell when it arrives).

To be 100% transparent, its possible the actual postage price is a bit below $11, since we have a discount to some locations with My Post Business, but adding packaging, labour and taxes we definately are not earning anything by sending these…

@Brandingo: Don't bother with idiots, Australians have a hate towards small businesses for some reason. There is a reason Australia is home to more monopolies and duopolies than any other country. The hobby industry is the last few industries that multinationals haven't fully invaded yet.

The people complaining have never worked at a small business and don't see the struggle. They are used to their weekly pay cheques paid no matter what unlike a small business owner.

  • Aqua damaged?

    • Nup! Just the sticker is damaged, the leather and the inside is perfectly fine. Just put a sticker over the bad sticker and its as good as new.

If you’re in the area then it’s a good deal if you don’t mind a roughed up case I can think of several USE CASES (sorry) for this such as for storing tools and things where appearance doesn’t matter.
Thanks to the OP for posting it rather than tossing it

EDIT: @OP, interested in the actual tool kit, is it safe to use around fish in water?

    • +1

Depending on ambient lighting conditions, some fish may be attracted to the shiny surfaces of the tools and will not remain at a safe distance while they are in use.

Sydney Aquascapes will accept no liability for any injuries caused to fish in these circumstances.

      Thank you.

    • Haha as Pantagonist said, all I can say is I regularly use them with fish in the water and never had a problem.

    Site is totally bargained .

  • +4

    What an incredible coincidence.

Just this morning I was cursing the jumbled mess that my aquascaping tools were in but was at a total loss as to what the solution could be.

    • You just plop all the tools on their respective tank lids. Still a mess, but jumbled no more. Not a solution, but it's a step. A step in the right direction? Not sure.

  • Our postage is also flat no matter how much you get

    Limit of 1 per customer!!!
Any orders with a quantity of greater than 1 will only be sent 1 item.

    • +1

Meaning the free case is limited to 1 per person.

If you place an order with other items that aren't the case you pay the same postage as you would if you just ordered the free case by itself.

      Comprehension is hard.

    • +3

I think they mean you can purchase other items in the same order, get 1 free damaged tool case, and the total postage is still $11

      • -3

Why bother when you can go and get a better stuff from $2 shop.

Note that Kmart has really good product for bargains these days

        • OzRubbish

          • @lakers1222: The case is perfectly fine, put a sticker over the soiled side and its as good as new. In hindsight the image I used is of a bit of a dusty one, that dust inside can just be cleaned off, its just the outside that has a bad sticker on it.

We are losing money on postage, so if its not worth it for you, just come pickup or just don't buy it? Would you rather us NOT offer postage? - We didn't even mark this as a freebee because of the postage, even though it is if you pickup. Not sure how clearer we could be lol.

        • +4

If you come in store its 100% free…

I'm not sure what your problem is, we are losing money sending these (we send as a parcel not letter, these are too thick) + labour of packing and sending. The alternative is throwing them out?

Do you hate family businesses or something?

          • +9

@Brandingo: You know when you get messages on Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace from people who want discounts sight unseen and also want you to deliver things to them?

These people are the Ozbargain equivalent of that.

          • @Brandingo: Thanks for the deal team, much appreciated

  • @Brandingo thanks guys, useful for me as I have the tools but no case :)
