    • worked on mobile browser

  • Must I wait till 8:30am tomorrow to buy it. It's showing $149 now but it won't let me checkout?

    • Nothing happened when I clicked "Continue to Payment". Anyone can help me?

      • i clicked that twice for it to process the payment

  • +1

Under $145 delivered (yes, I'm the only person on ozbargain never to have signed up for perks previously / used the $10 voucher). Amazing value!

    • +1

I got lazy and didn't sign up for my 4th perks account :(

  • +6

I dont know why I just bought 1

    • Fear of missing out. Peer pressure. The Ozbargain effect

  • +2

I don't know what is going on, but I have been struggling to add to cart, ended up accidentally adding 4, which was my bad, but also because it was slow and non-responsive. But I've been on the cart page and trying to remove them and they keep multiplying. It was 8, then 23, now 41 without me leaving the cart page and only clicking remove next to some. They're also not stacked, so all individual lines.

    • Sorted. That was in Opera, was having different issues in Firefox too, but once I opened in a Firefox private window it worked.

The kids will be happy if I end up letting them have them, I'm undecided.

    • +1

Mine is 100 phones in the cart totalling $2990 and the bottom part just kept spinning

      • +1

$29.9 each!! But all and resale:)

        • -1

Spot On !! Must be really bad glitch in the checkout cart

  • Great timing bought one

  • screw it!!! i have $150 voucher JBHIFI. so i bought this lol

    • Squid Game - 3 Figures Mug $1

  • +1

my fingers just did the buying without thinking!

  • I dont need one but I bought one? Oh thats right, my wifes phone is due for an upgrade

  • Anyon with suggestions on a good case? Would like one that leaves the front clear, yet has compartments for 2+ cards at the back. Looking through the tens(hundreds?) of thousands of cases on eBay and Amazon is making my head spin.

    • +3

The best part of these el cheapo Chinese phones? They come with a basic clear case.

      • +1

Don't. Had a screen protector and case on my daughter's 82, screen still cracked.

        Just buy a good case.

    • +2

I find AliExpress is a lot cheaper and better variety… though you have to wade through pages and pages of crap… Not sure I've seen a case with a clear front though (I went with the "leather" wallet style for my mum)

    • Finding a good screen protector is the issue

  • After I log into perks it still shows as 299

    Any idea why

    • Add to cart and it shows the cheap price

    • Check if you have perks on your account settings.

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/account#/manage-account

The $149 is reflected in cart.

      • I added to cart but it shows 149 and jumps back to $299

I joined perks and get the following message but don't get the discount. Maybe there is an error

        Welcome back to JB Perks

        • +1

There are issues, maybe try your luck in private Firefox window. That's where it ended up working for me, but not sure if I was just lucky it worked at that moment.

          • @Miss B: Firefox worked, thank you.

          • @Miss B: seems to be busted even on Firefox Private mode for me

  • +2

why did i buy this one?

  • +1

    I …. Just…. Can't…. Resist

  • I know it's LCD, but can someone confirm if this has an 'always on display'?

    • why not

    • +1

Just checked mine to be sure. The maximum time out is 30 minutes. I cannot see an always on option.

      • Cheers @revheadgl

  • can anyone tell me if the G54 is easy to root?

  • +2

Bought one with 15% off ultimate gift car that purchased last year.

    • Good tip thanks. I still had balance remaining. So $126.65 with the gift card discounted is a steal

  • lmao bought 2* more, in addition to the one I got like a week after it dropped last year.

to be fair, one is for my grandmother, and the other is bc I smashed my screen accidentally but was never gonna pay 100/150 odd to replace a screen on a phone I got for free *and could have replaced for 180 (it cracked on the way home from Blink182 when that price was available)

Now to somehow return my cracked one in it's place!

      • +5

Surely they track the IMEI on each purchase to stop people trying this?

      • -4

Looks like a lot of couriers didn't appreciate my joke at their expense.

Pro tip: If you took out the video doorbells when you threw the packages at the door we wouldn't see as much.

  • +1

Cart shown $149. Total payable on payment section is $299?

    • Did you login with your perks account?

      • Yeah perk member. I changed the pick up location and back to my location. It went down to $149. All good.
Just weird user experience for me. My cart kept refreshing earlier and pushing quantity up to 96…should have took a screenshot.

  • Bought one. was waiting for this deal, cheapest smartphone with esim, Redeemed $10 welcome coupon so costed 139

    • Didn’t know it has eSIM support great for overseas travel with travel sims

  • +2

I don’t need it but bought anyway, too hard to resist 😬
    Thanks OP 🤙🏼

  • site is broked

    loops with CLICK & COLLECT

    any1 else have this problem

    • +1

Confirmed , though I managed to get the perks working by joining perks and made sure the payable figure was $149 although the amount in a cart was $299. Received email receipt confirming $149 at the end

  • What colour phone are people buying

    • +3

      i got indigo

    • I got the midnight.

    • +4

      I prefer the indigo.

In case people miss it, indigo has a faux leather back to the phone where midnight is smooth.

  • +3

[50MP-Quad Pixel but actual resolution is 12.5MP] The 50MP sensor combines 4 pixels into 1, for an effective photo resolution of 12.5MP.

Explains the camera if anyone was wondering.

  • Can anyone tell me if this phone can run Honkai star rail game?

  • Ordered twice. Cancelled both time due to verification

    • -1

go in store to buy it then I guess (also congrats on getting another badge for being OZBarginer)

    • +2

You got banned from their online store. use a different email, phone number and payment information (gift card)

  • Is this the $100 Motorola phone that is faster iPhone 15? @silenthillrocks

  • +1

    Thanks been waiting for this.

  • Heh, got a $10 voucher for first time signup too.. so $135.

    • +3

      how 135?? 149-10 is 139 ??

      • oops in my head it was 145.. i just got a bit too excited about a bargain :)

  • Does it support VoLTE? Will it work with recent changes on Vodafone network?

  • Bought it anyway, think later. $149 can't go wrong even as a spare

  • Any good and cheap case for this phone?

  • +2

This will be a great upgrade for my Samsung S7, I don't even know how the poor bastard made it this long, but now I can let him rest.

    • Exact same situation for me. My daughters been running my old S7 for a year and battery is limping. This will be a good replacement. Been quite impressed with these Motorola phones for the price. Decent performance and not expensive enough to worry to much about damaging them.

      • +1

I recall I bought S7 edge because LG G4 had the bootloop issue.

Any teens should be happy even though this is an average phone. I don’t recall parents buying me phone when I was a teen

I worked for it, for a Sony Ericsson

        • She was happy with it but battery was complaining of being EOL and would rain very quickly. plus some apps were no longer supported. Was time to upgrade and she was happy to chip in money on it.

    • +1

S7 was a great device one of the best before Samsung crapped itself til S22

  • where to get a clear silicon bump case for this model, ebay?

    • +4

      Comes with one

    • +2

The one it comes with is a bit thin and I find it a bit slippery. I have been using the generic eBay ones. The are a bit thicker, protect the camera better and are just generally nicer to use. You can get them for about $10 including a screen protector.

Last time I posted a link to something it got blocked as referral spam, so just try searching ebay using "Motorola G54 Clear Shockproof Case Cover" and it should lead you to the type I use.

  • Is it refundable? I chose the wrong colour.
If I paid by credit card tonight, when I pick up the phone can I request to pay by JB gift card?

    • You can't return but can't rebuy if sale is off

    • +1

Buy the colour you want and cancel the first order

  • Can I exchange the colour if the store still has stock?

    • +2

If you are after Midnight Blue, I reckon they will be sold out in most stores before 9AM tomorrow.

interestingly this CPU MediaTek Dimensity 7020 is close to a Snapdragon 695, which is great.

Its better than Pixel 5, extremely close as Pixel 6 Tensor G1 chip (only slightly worse)

    • +4

Stop making things up. It's no match to Tensor G1. The CPU isn't great, the GPU is even worse. The phone is cheap, that's all.

Video decoding support - subpar (2K/30Hz, lacks hardware decoding for a lot of newer formats), 1T1R WiFi and only WiFi 5. FOMO purchases for most people. It's annoying, but low end Android mobile chipsets still cut corners everywhere. $150 for a 5G phone with 120Hz 1080p display… everything else needs to be squeezed.

      • +1

I was just googling to see what the equivalent is on the CPU side of things, didn’t say the overall package. I think everyone is over reacting

Did not say anything else as I’m not familiar with Mediatek CPU on phones

Regarding Wifi 5 our NBN here is subpar not everyone got gigabit internet so it’s a moot point

I’m sure lots of people can sacrifice those features for a cheap phone

        • -1

You made a few revisions. Initially, you started with Snapdragon 888. Not sure why Google was so inaccurate when you searched for equivalent mobile CPU. If you didn't add Tensor G1 bit, I wouldn't have repllied.

However, 1T1R WiFi 5 is quite disappointing. Even Snapdragon 480 is 2x2 (2T2R) WiFi 6. Hardware accelerated H.265 is supported on 480. The problem with 1T1R WiFi 5 is that if you have to use 2.4GHz WiFi band (which means further away from the router or the mesh unit), there is a good chance the device will struggle to even get you 50Mbps. So we are talking about 50/20 NBN. Being WiFi 5, you can forget about wider channel support on 5GHz band.

MediaTek should do the right thing, rather than doing this. 1T1R on mobile devices with a 120Hz display doesn't make sense. Stop doing dodgy stuff so people will have a better impression on MediaTek. TSMC 6nm process used and it is just silly to use that for 1T1R and a subpar GPU.
