    Why book with Jetstar Holidays?

Because you are a Masochist ?

Cheap is cheap, especially for the Aussie bogans to get drunk and fight with flight crew, keeps them off my Qantas flights

      • keeps them off my Qantas flights

        Good point.

Sometimes I contemplate booking same day return flights to bali just to witness the disaster that is JQ37

        • Especially the windscreen, then again, other airlines would have put a post it note over it and hoped for the best! Not an issue if you can’t see it lol

I've had two cheap Jetstar Japan direct international flights this year BNE <> Tokyo (Narita) and BNE <> Osaka

Whilst you have to pay for onboard food and entertainment and leg room seems tight, the flights themselves were perfectly fine.

There were no drunk bogans onboard - you have to pay for alcohol and it is not cheap.

Bali and Japan are very different destinations from a clientele perspective. I'd fly Jetstar to Japan again no problems - so long as the flight is direct.

The biggest tip I have is to be careful with where you sit - you don't want to be anywhere near the toilets - as there is a constant stream of traffic.

I took this trip when I went to Japan last and I am not going to lie the trip was pretty horrible, flight there was relatively fine(I think mulled by the excitement of our trip), flight home was horrendous. They were short staffed and waiting for more flight attendants(my sister is one so she saw the call out when we arrived in Cairns). I have had some pretty horrible flights in the past but I gotta say, arriving in muggy Cairns at 4am to sit in their airport for 5 hours waiting to get to Sydney is quite possibly the worst experience I have had, the staff didn't get the aircon running til about 9am so it was just sleepless half sweating, then we went to lie down on the floor in a corner only to wake up about 30-45 minutes later to see the airport completely bustling, jetstar also had the audacity to wait until the last hour to offer us a $10 voucher for food, anyone thats layed over in Cairns knows that theres one cafe with salads priced at $18 in a plastic container.

Probably worse case scenario I am sure, but given there are ample flights without layover for a smidge more(qantas, JAL and ANA were doing $1000ish pp return yesterday), I will happily pay the extra to avoid that noise..

    • Why would you fly this if you live in Sydney? So many better options

      • Because it was considerably cheaper than other airlines and some trips don't allow for waiting for an ozbargain post to book.. As a result you can learn from my experience. As I mentioned in my last sentence I recommend the better options.

        • ive flown the direct from cairns to tokyo flights a few times. love the short flight times and they were way more comfortable than my recent flight on a full service airline

I’m in Japan now having taken this flight. It was 787 so good leg room. 60+% of the other passengers were Japanese returning from the reef presumably.

I would not pay 70% of ANA or JAL prices personally, but my flights were ~$400 return during school holidays. So no regrets at all.

Anyway, a lot of the whinging seems to be by people who aren’t discussing the actual route.

Edit: I forgot to mention that they rescheduled our flights in an unfavourable way, I spoke by chat with their customer service and they changed our flights in a favourable direction (and we got fares that were not available at the sale price as a result).

Gotta love the whinging about Bali bogans too. If you’re going to Bali, there’s a fair chance you are a bogan, even if your flight is chartered.
