Hi everyone, whether or not this is a deal or not is entirely up to you, as this is technically a very targeted deal.

For some reason I checked the forums and cannot see anything about this or anyone who has done any calculations for this.

The EV Add On has five daily time periods that have four different electricity charges for your electricity use, which could result in cost savings if you can shift your electricity use from the Peak time period. Best times to charge would be obviously off peak 9am - 3pm then it would be overnight 11pm - 6am.

I created an excel spreadsheet in 5 minutes to see whether it might be worth for you. basically it is worth it if you consume minimal kwH between 3pm - 9pm.

I am unsure how to attach my workings at the moment, but wondering if this post may be helpful for anyone? Does anyone have any experience and feedback of switching to ev add on?

  Yikes! With Ovo, I get $0/kWh from 11am till 2pm every day and $0.08/kWh from 12am till 7am on my EV plan. And daily charge is $1~ish… even my peak time isn’t anywhere near 50¢/kWh. (Note that I am also not in WA… but those prices still seem obscene… must be because the state is 90% FIFO workers…)

    FYI,
    The standard plan has just the single rate of 30.8120 cents per unit for the entire day.
