Plumbing Quote for Spot Welding a Copper Water Pipe

I’ve been quoted $550 for a spot welding job to fix a copper water pipe (pipe and leak both detected and accessible). Not sure if this was over quoted? Any insight would be 👍🏻

    Brazing?

  • Seems on the high side, yeah. For a quick spot weld I'd expect something closer to $350, including materials and callout.

Are you good with DIY? You can solder capillary fittings or use SmarteX press-fit or push-fit couplings.

  • How much were the other quotes?

Did the $550 including finding the fault?

Seems a bit costly, but then what are you going to do?

Either DIY, get another quote, pay this quote or live with the leak.

Because that 2024 LandCruiser with bright orange recovery boards, stainless steel canopy, TJM bull bar and spotless, never used winch, 33” mudder tyres, 80,000,000 lumens of spot lights, HF mounted base station antenna and “Stretch Yah Snatch” sticker across the front windscreen that the plumber turned up in isn’t going to pay for itself…

315's not 33's and you forgot the foxwing and bolt on highlift jack that will never be used.

not the only pipe that needs "fixing"

DIY this, it's not rocket science.
