Friends don’t let friends buy Sorbent TP

    • yes, see my comment below as to why I agree with you

seems like it doesn't score well compared to others according to Choice. I haven't bought Sorbent for years because they changed their machines to make it and went from being a good product to a "crap" product…pun intended
anyone bought any recently to change my mind?
I normally get the Aldi brand 24 pack or the Velvelle from WW and am happy with those

    • I've honestly been pleasantly surprised having just bought my first pack of Sorbent. I got the double rolls from Amazon and they are solid.

I feel like Quilton and Kleenex are really soft and just fall apart at times.

      • how soft do you think it feels? Last time I bought Sorbent it was pretty rough and not that great to use

        • I'd say just go the Quilton as it's somewhere in-between.

          I bought these Sorbent - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0BF5SSJJG

          • @neo: I just normally get Aldi confidence or Velvelle from Woolies and they are fine. If you reckon this might be comparable I will get some

      • "solid" is not generally a selling point for TP

    • It's still rubbish, we use it at work and if you don't fold at least 4 pieces you're going to end up with a surprise finger up the bum.

Time to stock up for the next pandemic.

  • why are they doing this ?

    • Another lock down is coming.

Going by the cookers on Twitter, there has been one coming next week for the last 2 years.

Buy all of them and cache them, you'll be rich. Consider it a medium-long term investment.

Each major global event thats had significant socio-economical/political impact has been every 8 to 12 years so I'm guessing your investment will bloom in 2030.

With the russian/Ukrainian and Isreal/Gaza events, me thinks next global event will be a world war.

        • 2030

          perhaps the Skynet takeover https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15213634/redir

Russia has proven it's not interested or capable of expanding it's territories beyond USSR limits, so that little escapade will keep up until Ukraine sues for peace once western governments are sick of lining Zelensky & his cronies' pockets. As for Gaza, no one really cares what's happening there (you're an antisemite if you do, supposedly) - it's just another ethnic cleansing to go along with what's happening in Sudan, Myanmar, Xin Jiang province etc - except uni students wanting to be down with The Current Thing™ and Iran who is using it as an excuse to sabre rattle & whip its population into a nationalist fervour (ain't working given the protests last year).

        • TP will $1000 a pack by then, you'll be able to short sell Keenex, flood the market, and then buy half of the far north in cash explosion.

          HODL!

Does Sorbent still give surprise breakthroughs?

    • Your comment has just given me an idea of where the middle finger symbol originated.

    Scrunch or fold Tightarse?

    • +10

      Always neat folds.

      • +1

Arse too tight for a wadded ball of TP to get to where it needs to

      • Hallelujah 👍

    • +7

I’m a former scruncher convert. Nowadays it’s fold or flop, we have enough chaos in our daily 21st century lives and this was my way of taking back some control into my life. I need to know where the TP will land when it comes to wipe time and not turn my backside into a kindergartens fold-in-half butterfly painting.

      • +3

That is a disturbingly visceral word picture.

Amazon has price matched it; subscribe and save with an additional 10% off

  • +1

none near me anyway. Should have purchased through Amazon, but didn't realise most woolies don't actually have this

  • Finally an Item that can beat the inflation!

  • My local woollies has it for$16. If it scans at$8 can i ask for a freebie

    • Yes. Did you?

  • Cheers TA got me some

  • +2

Thanks TA, I will think of you when I wipe :)

    • +1

      Likewise :)

    • -1

You guys should help each other wipe….

      (tears)

  • Thanks TA, got last 3 at my local

  • Thanks TA going to WW today. Btw where are you working now?

  • +1

Haha the clowns substituted my 32 pack order with a 20 pack. Wtf. Will be requesting a full refund.

They also substituted my 5ltr Palmolive dishwashing liquid with 1.5ltr. Idiots.
Fortunately Olive the virtual assistant normally just instant refunds complaints about poor substituted items

  • Does it show as $8 or $16 in store?

    • Some store still has the old sign up showing $16. Should scan at $8 at checkout (just double check at the front desk/checkout).

      • Thanks, the price tag was $16 but scanned at $8

  • +1

Plenty of stock at my local.
But Beware, this is Compact Roll and I am using 2-3 sheets than our favorite Quilton 3ply single sheet.
Better looking for 48 roll quilton if in stocks.
I neg this deal as I think its better to go for the proper size.
But equally appreciate TA for the post and Plus 1 for your time and effort.

    • Why the negative vote if you’re saying plus one?

Anyway yes these are “compact rolls” but still the same number of sheets, they’re just more tightly compressed/wound

    • Usage is key

  • +2

Just saw heaps left at Ivanhoe (Vic) - 10+, they’re stacked in the middle of the aisle and say $16, but scanned as $8

  • is that 14cent per 100ss?

  • For anybody still looking for stock, Pacific Fair (QLD) has PLENTY in the back rear corner of their store. Not on the shelves with the other TP, but stacked up against a nearby pylon.
