Great offer from eBay!

Tried cancelling my membership and this offer popped up as "retention offer"

Eligibility: This offer is only available to the select users who have received communication that contains the offer (“Eligible Users” or "you"). To successfully sign up to the offer, Eligible Users must:

  • complete their annual eBay Plus membership cycle; and
  • renew and pay for a consecutive eBay Plus annual membership (valued at $49 per annum).
  • not have previously participated in or accepted an offer or promotion from eBay in exchange for not cancelling their membership.

Conditions. This offer entitles Eligible Users to an eBay voucher valued at $30 (“Voucher”) when they successfully sign up to the offer as set out in clause 3. A limit of 1 Voucher per Eligible User applies, with a required minimum spend of $100 (excluding postage costs) in that one transaction.

Voucher. If you satisfy the Conditions set out in clause 4 above, the Voucher will be issued to Your eBay.com.au account after a successful payment of your eBay Plus membership from 20 May 2024. The Voucher is not transferable.
Voucher expiry. The Voucher is valid from the date of issue and will expire 30 days from the date of issue (“Validity Period”).
Voucher conditions. The Voucher entitles you to $30 off the pre-coupon purchase price (excluding postage costs) of item(s) listed on eBay.com.au, except on the Excluded Items, when you spend $100 or more, with up to 10 items in one transaction during the Validity Period.
"Eligible Items" means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code beginning with WELCOME30 is found in the item listing.

Redemption. To redeem the Voucher during the Offer Period, enter the code displayed in your “My eBay” page, starting with WELCOME30 into the redemption code box during checkout. This code cannot be used in conjunction with any other eBay offer, coupon or voucher. You can only use the redemption code 1 time during the Offer Period. Where a transaction for which a redemption code has been used is cancelled either by you or a seller, the redemption for the cancelled transaction cannot be re-used and will still be considered a redemption as set out in the Cancellations clause below. The code is provided to you as an eBay User and the limitations on its usage apply on that basis even though you may have registered a number of different eBay User IDs.

Enjoy!

  • It was only a $50 spend when I renewed last month with the same deal.

    • mine is expiring on 19th May and I was offered $30 off a $50 spend too (checked just now)

      • Same. $30 off a $50 spend

Not tempting enough to renew 😝

They offered a $30 gift card previously for the same thing. This is way worse as the voucher cannot be stacked with other promo codes nor cashback, not to mention the minimum spend.

    • they offer voucher long ago. I got the voucher in January this year and argued with the staff it should be a gift card. They refused to help. Yes, the voucher cannot stack with other promotions and you have to use it at once, not splitting.

You'd be foregoing the discounts you would otherwise get on a $100 spend, ordinarily ~20% with coupon and/or cashback. Using this voucher would void other discounts. So ends up being more like $10 off compared to other discounts, and that's only if you were to spend precisely $100.

It's lame, dunno what their marketing dept is thinking but with lousy offers like $5 off $50 spend every month (when it was min $15 before) - NO THANKS!

last last voucher expired.. no good deals on ebay!! Amazon is better it seems now

  • +2

It used to be spend $30 get $30 off, now you need to spend $100.
It used to be spend $15 get $5 off each month, now you need to spend $35.
    Where are the Tuesday "deals"?

  • I got this offer yesterday when I cancelled. It just has too many hoops to jump through - $100 min spend and only for certain items, not for everything, and short expiry.

  • +1

I've canceled for good now, no longer worth it.
Amazon is the go with next day delivery, even if it's a bit more expensive.

  • ? They offered $7.99/$10 per year last week… It is targeted though…. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/842843

    • Just rejoined to get the Roborock Q5 deal. Was just going to do a month, but it offered the $10/y deal, so I jumped on it.

After that was complete went to cancel, so that it doesn't automatically pay full price in another year's time and it offered the $30 voucher to stay, which I took up.

Wonder if it'll charge me anything if I cancel after I use up the $30 voucher :-).

Hmm, on second thoughts, after reading T&C, unlikely I'll get issued the $30 voucher unless I renew in 2025.
Oh well, even without this coupon, the $10/y membership plus Roborock deal was worth the effort.

      • I want to rejoin too. How did u get $10/y offer? Care to share?

        • Offer just came up, so is targeted.

I had a cheap annual subscription up until about 6 months ago, then when I wanted something that Ebay Plus was useful for I'd just pay for a month subscription then immediately cancel.

I also visited the Ebay Plus page a few times while I was logged in to Ebay, before I noticed it, so looking interested but reluctant might have helped.

Unfortunately though, I don't know the secret to their algorithm so that it will be targeted towards you.

  • I have cancelled it few months ago and now I got 10/1st year. Took it again
