  • Mad invite

    • While I agree with your argument, I specifically said NOTE at the bottom, deposit in and out is fine. In the end it’s free money, still being paid out. Does the actual deal need to be negged based on your personal wording preference?

      • +1

        Yes.

This is NOT an attack on OP but rather the discriminating nature of the offer

In todays world anything that discriminates against certain people is heaviliy criticised

        • Yes i understand and am not offended, But if at the end they are not enforcing that term “salary” and u still get easy money for doing sweet FA basically, why so disgruntled?

          • -1

@noelhoi: Then they should change the wording of the offer as I have suggested so that those who dont receive a "salary" are not openly descriminated against.

Salaries are usually paid to high income earners.

As I say, no issue against OP.

Banks just need to tread more carefully

            • @HeWhoKnows: Yeah good luck giving your personal preference feedback to banks, as if they’d listen. All I care is the free moolah, so long that gets paid idgaf what wording they use.
By you negging the deal it may disencourage ppl to see/click the “deal” let alone follow through with it, when I clearly have provided information how to achieve the easy free money. That’s all I’m saying. If you still stick with your argument, then once again good luck 😀

I agree that this type of offer is discriminatory in its wording and certainly cuts out those on a low income. I realise that the name OzBargain can be misleading, and that a considerable number on this site are on well above average incomes. I'm sorry your comments were so heavily downvoted that they were hidden. Many on OzBargain are quick to "pile on" anyone with dissenting views. Personally, I don't agree with downvoted comments being redacted but I'm sure someone will pipe up and say it's always been done that way. I don't expect OzBargain to change any more than I expect banks to change, and that's a shame.

          • @peter: I think it just comes down to if you’re being pedantic, or not. Sure the bank worded it that way. We can throw rants out, fall on deaf ears most of the time. All we can do is pass the deal around, and OzB is a medium for that. What OzB also is, a platform where the users share tips & tricks, and/or exploits HOW best to take advantage of said “imperfectly worded deals”.
So me personally, rather than focus on the negatives or what could’ve-beens, join the bandwagon and help yourself benefit from the current deal while it lasts and still achievable. 👍

@noelhoi: ts obvious we have a lot of "lefties" here that are trying change history and the facts.
A huge sense of entitlement as well.

Unfortunately this doesnt help someone looking for proper helpful advice.

              • +2

@HeWhoKnows: Yep, targeted incentives/deals by businesses are all 'leftie"/UN plots to overthrow er um…..something. Something which temporarily slips my mind at present but I'm sure it'll come to me in the next decade or so.

How do we activate the offer. I can’t see any emails in my inbox nor can I see in my app.

    • noelhoi 4 min ago new
You need to have been sent the email. Hence, [TARGETED]

      • +1

@noelhoi I received the email but once I click on the "Activate your offer" it just takes me to the promo page. Is that the same for you?

        • Correct. As long as you receive the email with your personal name mentioned

          Hi <insert name>,

And you click activate, that’s all to activate.

    • Yeah, usually one of the mods are quick to do that. Only they can do it.
Did you neg based on the missing [TARGETED] tag?

  • Got the email but cant open the link.

  • I activated the offer from my email and did my first $2k deposit (not salary from employer but from one of my accounts at another bank) in early March and by mid March I received an email saying "your $50 reward is getting closer. Great work on depositing your pay…."

Early April I did another $2k deposit but haven't seen any emails from ING and neither a bonus $50 in my account. Has anyone got their $50 bonus already?

    • This was my experience back in last Oct/Nov 2023, i did not get the offer back in Mar/April 2024. So I assume it’s a 6monthly interval if you’d successfully before. $50 was paid ~3days after I got the eligibility email.

      • How long did you have to wait after your second deposit to get that confirmation email saying "As promised, your $50 reward will be deposited into your Orange Everyday in the next 3 to 5 business days - so keep an eye out.”? It has been a month now for me since I made my second deposit.

        • +1

I deposited on 9 Nov, 11 Nov the email came, so 2 days. You should definitely contact CS if you havent got the $50

          • @noelhoi: So to confirm, sending money via external account should count and this offer requires at least 1000 deposit for 2 months consequently. Does it matter if 1000 deposited gets transferred back to external account or does it need to stay there for 2 months until $50 received. Thanks

            • @s0805:

ANY external funds counts toward the criteria. Deposit in, and out instantly.

As I mentioned in description. This was my experience 6 months ago. Should be the same now too I expect.

              • @noelhoi: Hi from your prev exp, did they send you some sort of confirmation if you have 1st qualified transaction. I have transferred from external account to ING and let it sit there overnight before transferring back….however not sure if gets ticked by their system….

                • @s0805: spoke too early….got message last night abt getting closer. So seem it has worked going from external account.

                  • @s0805: My first deposit was on 05/03 and the email about getting closer was received on 10/03. Since then, I've made 2 more deposits but nothing from ING. Reached out to customer support via "Messages" on the app but have not heard back.

  • Found this $100 bonus offer for new members which might interest someone.

Caveat emptor, don't know anything about the offer other than what the link says. Perhaps search other ING Bonus deals and see what commenters say.

ING has been total shit over the years.

  • Odd I haven't received a single email from ING since December last year.
