and would be instantly more expensive too

  • Noob question from someone who doesn't need to buy a gaming PC - what can you play with this? I'm just curious what $800 buys you.

I usually look at the graphic card's performance reviews. e.g. https://www.techspot.com/review/2343-amd-radeon-rx-6600/ or https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

What can you play? Most things. More demanding games will produce lower frame rates or require reduced quality settings. It depends on what you want to play and the performance/setup.

Essentially, this is a gaming card budget card/setup. I'd happily play on this with any game. Would I buy it? No, cause I'm a bit of an enthusiast and like things up to the max with excessiveness.

https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs_gaming_con… — Good guide on where this sits, similar system there notes as "Our first system with a dedicated graphics card, this system is really good for 1080p gaming, reaching 60 frames per second (FPS) with high graphics, and over 100 FPS in eSports with high graphics, and the suggested monitor has Freesync to reduce screen tearing."

      • Great info - futhermore, if you want to see performance I go to youtube and type in "CPU MODEL + GPU MODEL tested in games" and generally there's someone who will show you 10+ games running on that configuration with various settings. Then look at the performance counter in the corner and look for the FPS readout.

This system here is probably equal (if not slightly better) than a Series X / PS5, depending on the game of course and how well it's optimised. And of course being a PC you're not limited to one ecosystem.

      • do you think its any good for 4k video editing? Thats pretty much all i use my home computer for.

$49 upgrade to Ryzen 5 5600 seems decent. Well balanced 1080p gaming build in general

  • Weren't the 4060 deals at the same price point a better buy?

I'm not sure you can call this a "gaming" PC

Saw the price and immediately thought 'seven ate nine'.
