  • It's still 27"… Where's the fun in that?

    • +14

      In the 360hz

      • Unless you’re trying to go pro in esports, there’s just no way I would prioritise extreme refresh rates over higher resolutions, especially with a panel tech like OLED and high-density 2160p screens being the norm.

        • +5

But 2160p OLED monitors are not the norm. This monitor is actually amazing for anyone looking for the best possible experience in a competitive esport environment because of the TN level refresh rate with beyond IPS level visuals. I'd love it if I didn't already have too many screens.

          • +7

@Budju: And you need a pretty chonky GPU to run 2160p

            • @dnvrngts: Or you can just decrease the resolution to 1080p and still have it look good because of pixel scaling.
1080p on 1440p looks like a mess because of all the indivisibles.

            • @dnvrngts: It's true depending on what game you're playing

  • +7

    If I'm paying $1k already, I'm getting the $1.1k 34" lol

    • +2

Fair enough, depends on your use case

  • What’s the refresh rate again?

    • +6

      180hz x 2

    • about 360mhz @ 120w tdp.

  • Is that Flicker issue solved?

    • +1

had one for a while now and never encountered such an issue

    • +2

Can confirm VRR flicker is still there in multiple games when the FPS varies a lot. I'm using mine with VRR off.

  • Is the difference between 120Hz and 360Hz visually noticeable?

    • +3

If you can get the frames, yes

    • +1

Yes, particularly in games when you're panning around a screen or tracking fast moving objects (e.g. mnk on fps games). But for something like a RTS game (civ 6 e.g.) there won't be much value going from 120-360hz. So kind of depends a little bit on the individual and a little bit on the use case

Bought one of these a few months back when it was 1270 or so with student discount.

I personally couldnt adjust to the colors or lack of brightness and sent it back after 2 weeks. Just ĵcouldnt get used to it.

Had issues doing 360hz in cs 2 and cs 1.6 at different resolutions. Thats pretty much all i play on the pc withba 4090
Went back to my 4 year old ips lg 1440p at 165hz.

    • Similar experience with OLED.

Had the 34 inch Alienware OLED. Couldn't adjust to the colours and few too many caveats still.

Sold it and went back to a new IPS Panel

      Best monitor I've ever used.

      • Given your experiences would you say this monitor would be better for single player non-competitive gaming? (BG3 etc)

        • +1

I’d argue that if it’s just for single-player gaming, you should just step up to the 32” 4K version or even the 34” 1440p ultrawide version. At least with the 4K monitor, you can just decrease the resolution to 1080p and still have it look good, or just use integer scaling and decrease the resolution to 1440p with the OLED black bars.
360hz and above is practically overrated for any normal user, and it’s only practical if you’re either a professional gamer or just plain motion sick.

          • @FujinShu: "360hz and above is practically overrated for any normal user, and it’s only practical if you’re either a professional gamer or just plain motion sick."

and I've read the same statement when 144hz was released.

if you find 360hz worthy of your cash get it, whether you're a casual gamer, competitive or pro gaming. sure it's diminishing returns, but it is smoother and if you are sensitive to these things then it's worth more to you personally than your average person.
