  • OVH = run the other way. Don't believe me? try it (make sure you ALWAYS have a recent backup if you do)

    • Not my experience with OVH. I've had zero issues, with our dedicated server over the many years we've had it.

      • Try contacting support. See if you get response by next Thursday.

        • Hello @dan0909, if you need assistance with a ticket please feel free to send it by PM and will try to help. Thanks

  • If someone is wanting to try this, be careful with what they say. I signed up to get $300 trial credit to try it for 30 days, but they ask you to pay non-refundable $15 (account credit) before you get the free $300 credit. So, indirectly they are selling $300 credit for $15. It is not a big amount, but bit of a concern, you don't know what else they are hiding.
Also, It took five attempts (2 x Credit Card and 3 x PayPal) before they could verify the valid payment method (?????). + The chat rep can't see some of my account details which I could see in my account, so not very much in sync I guess.

Had a live chat with support who provided misleading information.
Accoding to the rep >> It should be the authorization amount only, it will not charge your card until you exceeds the limit of free trial.

But this is on the screen >>

Thanks! Your payment method has now been registered.
To get started quickly and harness the power offered by the OVHcloud Public Cloud, please pay a total of A$ 15. This total will be converted in to credits*, which you can use on your project.
*Credits cannot be transferred or refunded, and do not have any monetary value. Any credit that has not been used within 13 months of purchase will be lost. Click “Credit and create my project”, and you will be redirected to an invoice to pay for your credits via payment card or PayPal.

I wanted to try it because my colleague found it cheaper for our upcoming cloud migration project (100+ Windows Servers Migration), but I already had enough with this guys in just few hours. Can't risk it for Production load. 100% time-wasters.

    • Hello @CrazyBargainer, Sorry to hear about your experience with our support team, could you send me in PM your customer id or ticket number to investigate your case?

To clarify about the 15$ requested for a Public cloud project creation:
—> if you choose a card payment method, there is a pre-authorisation only on your card. we do not take the money.
—> if you choose to pay via paypal, there is indeed a charge of 15$ (which is an additional cloud credit valid for 13 months) as per the explanation you got on our website.

This is a procedure in place to ensure a valid payment method is entered and avoid fraudulent activities on our network on pay-as-you-go cloud services.

May I suggest you to contact our Australian sales team to discuss your cloud migration project?

  • To clarify about the 15$ requested for a Public cloud project creation:
—> if you choose a card payment method, there is a pre-authorisation only on your card. we do not take the money.

Wasted some more time today to check if your above suggestion works and to validate my negative comment above. I still stay with what I said above.
I tried different cards (Visa & Master) and none worked. Basically It forces me to use PayPal and pay for the trial.

Gives this same Error Message regardless what card I have used.

    The following errors have occurred
An error has occurred creating your Public Cloud project. Please try again.
