I got one included with my dual boiler, never worked properly…

    • Yeah, I got it for free with the machine a year ago, haven't taken it out of the box, I keep using a regular, no temperature sensor jug.
If you dont mind the branding then you can get a jug with temp strip for less than $15 from AliExpress

I wonder how well these work compared to a stick thermometer… also fahrenheit is such a stupid scale of measurement, it had to be said.

I would think a stick thermometer wouldn't be very good at holding milk

These are so much better, cheaper, easier to clean and if it happens to break (mine has been going strong for around 10 years) you don't have to replace the jug.

      • I find the spring attachment thinger always bends out of shape after a month or three. Sorta annoying so I put up with it for another six months then replace it.

just add a sticker thermometer to any jug- works well enough

  • I tested this with my high quality thermapen and was surprised just how accurate it was. It came with my machine and I use it every day, worth it for me for easy heat indication.

I just use my hand, even easier.

What about when frothing your milk though?

Best comment ever. I'll be laughing all day.

Haha, aren't they the same thing?

          frothing your milk

Is that what the kids are calling it these days…

        • Got'em!

          😂😂😂

          Zing!

  • Mine works well, easier than a thermometer.

  • I've considered these, but on the other hand, just put your finger on the top of the jug and if it starts getting to the point where it's uncomfortable then it's ready.

    • I thought it was putting your hand on the bottom of the jug away from the steam tip, because the steam tip never reaches the bottom so the bottom heats up last.

    • Very functional, bought one as part of a gift to get somebody started. My issue is the capacity - fine for 2 medium cups, but it is very large for a single cup. The Breville ones (ignoring temp or not) are 480ml instead of 620ml which I find much better to work with for one person.

  • I have this jug from Breville and it works great. One of the best purchases for consistency in my daily coffee.

  • Cant get art with this one, and tbh never did with any other jug, so wondering if i try hard enough would this work? Read on other reviews that its not the best for drawing

  • Check your local op shop. $2
