I have one of these and they work great, doesn’t get too warm and have decent read/write speeds.

    • that read write speed says 10gbps, does that mean 1200 MBs ??

      • It's USB, so probably more like 900-1000

    • I had one, it killed my SSD :\

Could have been me, but how hard is it to plug it in and go? shrugs oh well.

  • This or Orico for a few dollars less?

Dont know about this one but my Orico gets very warm when used.

      • Yes maybe enclosing them isn't such a good idea.. perhaps they should have a heatsink and some springs or something to help it make contact

      • Like the enclosure's surface was warm or the drive's reported temps?
Because a well cooled enclosure will always be warm to the touch unless it has a fan or the drive you put in it is super low power.
If it's disapating the heat into the environment and you touch it, you're the environment, so you receive the heat and the drive gets a little cooler.

    • link?

    • I have both, this one is far better - the screwless design is really handy.

They both use a rubber lug to secure the SSD, however the Orico doesn't fit properly and causes the drive to work loose whenever it is bumped, which being a portable drive is all the time.

  • I have one of these with a WD SN770 drive in it. Came close to cooking my drive after a long transfer session so I whacked some heat transfer stuff on the SSD and although it gets warm now, it doesn't get to the temps it did before.

    • what heat transfer stuff did you use? My SSD died recently from using m.2 usb adapter and I don't want it happening again
