It appears you need to be at SCHOOL or UNI to get this, as it asks for your student ID number and says you need to show proof of age to collect..

Tidy looking chick doing the presentation tho :p

EDIT: you must be under 25

The free sample offer is only open to residents of Australia aged 25 years and under who sign up on the website firsts.com.au and include all the requested information. Failure to include all the information may result in the sample not being able to be redeemed at selected Priceline stores.

By signing up to receive the sample you are stating that you accept the terms of use of this offer.

    • It says "selected Priceline stores"… Is there a list of these?

For some reason it is not letting me access the site anymore so can't check myself, have the sms though :)

  • I just put in my old uni Id,

you can probably put any number..
    it works for me,

    • crap….i just went to Bourke St Tivoli arcade Priceline - they're not aware of any such offer! Unbelievable

    • i just put in my old uni ID too. to redeem it all it says in the conditions is to present your identification/age verification card. does that mean a uni ID card or something like my driver's license which shows i'm under 25?

    Will try tomorrow.

  • Great post. Funnily enough i just bought my first non-disposable razor last week and then this comes up.

  • Doh…a month earlier and I would have still been under 25!

But been looking for an electric razor, so no biggie.

  • Thanks, I'll go in to priceline soon.

  • +1

Anything to say it can only be redeemed by boys? Maybe some of us girls could pick them up on behalf of older partners??

    • Don't think so.
      Give it a shot.

  • +3

went into priceline and they rejected the sms saying it isn't their promotion :(

    • +1

which priceline did you go to?

      • one in townsville NQ

  • during unsw's oweek film, there was a set of this razor, plus shaving cream on every seat (about 500 altogether). there were people walking around collecting as many as they could during the decidedly shitty movie. gillette must be trying to secure a whole new generation of customers!

If Priceline deny you the free razor, find the Manager, note down her name-tag & report that YOU WILL BE MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THE ACCC MENTIONING HER NAME SPECIFICALLY, as it against the Trade Practices Act to make misleading advertising.

Or, she could just give you the Razor for free as you are entitled to, and all of this complaining will stop immediately.

    The address to write to:

    Mr. Gordon Samuels,
Chairman, Australian Competition & Consumer Commission,
    GPO Box# 31,
    CANBERRA, ACT, 2601

    • -1

      very nice alex

    • -1

I might be doing this, I asked for her manager and she said in a really sarcastic and rude tone "I am the manager, now if you're going to buy that, buy it."

      • -1

I was gonna say the complaint's a bit harsh, but by the sounds of it, she's even worse…

Go for it, it's not a lot of work as the scare tactic is the first and hopefully last step :) I advice you to go prepared, shouldn't have to come down to contacting the ACCC… Print the offer and the specific rules of the act it breaches, what she should do and what you're entitled to.

She should be crapping her pants by this stage.

        • +5

"She should be crapping her pants by this stage" - I don't think so…. I don't think you will get much action from ACCC - they have so much more on their plate than a little razor AND the T&C's state

"Offer is subject to sample availability and the Promoter cannot guarantee that a sample will be available upon your request at participating Priceline stores. "

Moral of story is read the legalise before you threaten legal action

          • -3

            @[Deactivated]: True.

            Enforcement might not actually happen.

However, it definately wont happen if you don't do anything & just "let it slide".

At the very least, the ACCC could simply ask Priceline to explain in writing…which will take time and money away from Priceline, which is a good thing for wasting our time.

It's worth the threat, just to threaten!

            • +2

@alexportnoy: Or, figure out which store runs the promotion, by ringing your local store before you go. Problem solved, time not wasted.

            • @alexportnoy: I'm all for correct advertising, but saying you plan on going to the ACCC is a bit harsh. Gillette is obviously using Priceline as the outlet for their promotion, which is only available to a certain group of consumers (male students under 25), so if a Priceline manager or any employee has to go out of their way, or in this case as you're suggesting, out of pocket, to fulfill this request, I'd say that's where you draw the line.

If someone came in trying to get free razors because one of the many suppliers of a store's products said they could, I wouldn't waste my time with them. I'm sure they have better things to do, like run the store and protect the rest of the business and its investors, which doesn't include incorrectly giving out free razors.

    • +5

people like you are the reason why we cant have good things

  • what do u put in as the school id?? =[

    • Well on mine it has Library No.-332400**** - obviously the asteriks' are numbers.

Might just be my school though. 10 digit number.

  • i got mines in hurstvile nsw

  • does it include priceline pharmacy or just the priceline stores?

    • Hey, i dont think it matters which 1 it is a priceline pharmacy or a store, as long as they are participating

  • Dont bother going to the Priceline Chermside shopping centre, Qld, they said you need to be under 16 even though I told them that in the terms and conditions it say you need to be under 25.

    • If you have to be "under 16" you'd be lucky to have anything to shave ;-)

  • anyone watch the tutorial videos?? they are f'in hillarious.
I thought the 1st kiss one was funny but the 1st dance vid takes the cake.
Some on the moves will have the girls keeping a safe distance from you.

Btw Gillette were putting these razors in mailboxes. I know my cousin in Glen Waverly, VIC received one.

Will try the priceline in QV, Melb tomorrow.

    • Please do inform which Priceline will honor this deal, people

      • +1

They should have stock. None of the razors have a barcode on them so ask the staff to see if they received a shipment

    • i cant watch the videos because after i clicked theres a stupid pop-up asking for username and password. the gillete people are so dumb.

      • i got the same thing, dumb huh

        • I got the pop up as well. No user ID or password was provided on or after registration. How did people watch the videos?

  • i got mine from north sydney
the lady did ask for proof of age and the sms though
it helps to have the form printed out too

  • +1

I got one from rouse hill priceline

its not the normal stock, They have like a promotion pack.

its just a paper packaging with 1 razor inside.

  • Received one of these promotional Gillette Fusion razors today (2164) with no major issues apart from the first shop assistant not knowing about the promotion. As mentioned by others, the razor comes in non-retail packaging with no barcode and only one blade (the retail pack has one or two blades included).

Also, I'm not sure how Gillette/Proctor & Gamble/Priceline are keeping track of things as the SMS does not contain a unique code. I'm guessing I could walk into a different Priceline and use my SMS again if I were inclined towards double-dipping.

Me and a mate actually went to a couple of Pricelines today. Priceline and Priceline pharmacy at Southland have them in stock (massive box). However I also went to Bentleigh and Clayton ones, which they've never heard of the promotion, they however were extremely nice and are going to call me back tomorrow. I can confirm that these are NOT the regular Gilliette Fusions, well at least the packaging. It's got a cardboard backing with no backing, unlike the retail ones which are in full plastic.

Also being the tight asses me and my mate are, we walked around Southland getting free food/drink samples :)

    • you actually went from Bentleigh to Southland, hahaha sounds like something i would do any way, when they do call u back please let us know what they say as Bentleigh is the closest 1 to me thx

      • I confirm that the Priceline pharmacy Bentleigh honor this deal

  • worked for me in brisbane city store

  • No trouble at Priceline Camberwell, Victoria.

    Ballarat Victoria:

1st priceline had stock and was hassle free to get the shaver - pretty good as others have described its in a cardboard backed packaging specifically for the promo, up at the counter they just ask to see the sms then they just swipe a card with a barcode on it and done - that simple.

2nd priceline wasn't sure what to do regarding the promo and manager went home early (long weekend dodgy lol)… told to come back Tuesday.

3rd priceline was aware of the promo because of some email from head office - but hasn't received stock yet, gave me the number to the store and said to call to check in Tuesday.

  • Got one at Morley Galleria, WA no problem. asked at the checkout and they just handed me one without seeing any ID or the sms.

  • Got one from Chadstone priceline, just flashed the SMS, no id check

  • Got mine a Knox, VIc, No ID or SMS Check, Great freebie

    • They didn't even check anything? How lazy is that! I guess most Priceline staff don't really give a stuff since this is free promotional stock that they most probably would have received for nothing anyway from Gillette/Procter & Gamble.

  • went to parramatta westfield priceline yesterday near the train station,
showed the sms, and got the shaver

didnt ask for ID but he did tell me to delete the SMS while he watched and made sure

    • -4

Should've told him to shove it, and that you'll do what you please with your phone. (After getting the shaver)

      • +2

You can't be serious. It's all about a bit of give and take. If you're prepared to kick up a stink about something as simple as deleting the message after getting your free razor then it's no wonder why many companies don't bother with freebies anymore.

Anyway, AFAIK they normally ask you to delete the message before they put the razor through the register, so what would you do in that case? Get all worked up about deleting the message and then storming out empty handed? Get real…

        • +1

common sense just isnt as common as it used to be

    • it happened to me too when i got mine. but for others out there if you want to hassle you can ask them to show you the terms and conditions which states you need to delete the message after getting the razor or say its an invasion of privacy and they have no right to tell you what to do.

  • +1

one at rockdale plaza NSW gave me one off the shelf
    had 2 cartigages lol

  • +2

Got one at World Square - Took a while for them to find the card, which scanned as Trial @ 1 cent rounded down to 0.00 …

A friend got one at Broadway where they were asked to delete the SMS.

  • great freebie, theres two picelines at rosebud so i picked up two of the razors. one of the stores said i had to be over 18 to get it though which wasnt in the terns and conditions.
either way im still happy, lol. and i wasnt asked to delete the sms either

  • Ah great. So world square and broadway has it. Will be hitting either one up this week!

  • Is it just me or does the site hang for anyone else?

I fill out the enrol form and then click submit form, and the Please Wait screen just stays there…

    Anyone got a fix?

    Cheers

    • What browser are you using? Have you tried signing up using a different browser?

    • I've been having the same problem using both Firefox and IE.

    • happened to me a couple times as well. i just refreshed and entered my details again and then it worked..

  • I can confirm that Lismore Priceline is running this promotion.
I rang the day I signed up and they said they didn't have it, but I rang a week later, and they said they had just got it in.
It's your standard Gillette Fusion razor valued at 18.99 RRP.

Could you just enter your license number as proof of age as under 25?

    • It doesn't really matter what you put in that field IMO. From my own experience and the comments posted here they don't check your card/ID number anyway.

  • just confirming that bankstown honours the offer, though the sales assistant at the register had no idea what she was on about and showed the the actual fusion razor, so i went to the back of the store and the girls gave me the razor no questions asked besides showing them the sms obviously. I then showed the first sales assistant the razor and she was like "how can you get free razor?". so frustrating sometimes!

  • got one from belconnen today.the lady passed it to me happily X)

  • This deal works at Priceline on High Street, Penrith. They had about 10 left.
