    • +1

Better off just reading the Bible and having an eternal life pending your acceptance via grace without being annoyed by flames.

Fascinating documentary on end time events, such as the rapture, the second coming, the millennium and more.

How can you document something that has never happened?

    • -3

This is an excellent question. The Bible claims to be inspired by God, and to foretell the future. It either is true or the biggest deceiver. Being an ancient text, its claims to know the future can be verified with history.

      • +4

There are plenty of ancient texts. Stories don't automatically become true because they are ancient.

How can claims about the future be verified by history? That is absurd.

        • If only past performances are an accurate representation of future possibilities. Try telling my boss that, I'm due for a raise!

Would the church of Scientology or Happy Science be allowed to advertise free literature here?

      • What about the cults: pizzas, coke, chocolate and others. If we didn't allow junk food deals, there'd be nothing here!

        • +2

          Delicious cults are excused.

    • Would anyone dare to lay the boot in if it was about Mohammed?.

ps, I'm not Jesus fan but I do like equality to all religions.

      • Absolutely! As we are predominantly a Christian society I have even less tolerance of these other religions pushing their views/beliefs in our country and especially in our schools!
I've got no problem them practicing/following their religion here, but do not try to enforce change on the rest of us! Religious or not, we celebrate, or at least observe, Christmas and Easter here!

Edit: I'm also very much against all the tax breaks that the churches/religions/cults receive in this country! Most of these are not Non For Profit organizations nowadays!

        • +2

Yes, it's criminal that so called 'religious institutions' don't pay tax.
          We're subsiding Scientology FFS!

        Oh, hang on.

Before donating to Selected Messages, please ask God if it is right to do so since He might have another plan with the money He has entrusted to you.

My god (let's not call him Satan) says I should spend the money on cheap wine and hookers (I mean the wine is cheap, not the hookers) instead.
        Praise the lord!

Selected Messages does not create. It simply forwards God's priceless gifts to a suffering and dying world.

Tip: Don't invite these guys to your next party.

Selected Messages paid nothing for these gifts, or for anything else. God paid for them all with the life of His Son.

Well, you know what they say: there's no such thing as a free lunch…

  • +1

This is a 7th Day Adventist production
Some of their information regarding other cults can be quite good but overall they exhibit marks of a cult

  • +1

Bring on the cults - it's actually quite fun destroying their cases one by one. Particularly if the actual rep comes in.

    • +2

You can't destroy them if they reject reason or reality. There's just no winning.

So if none of this actually happens can I finally neg this non-deal without picking up yet another 'inappropriate use of a negative vote' warning?

Or could the mods all just be sensible and institute a no religious materials rule on Ozbargain?

Christians have been sure they were in the 'End Times' (TM) since the supposed death of Jesus. Every time they are 'certain' and 'absolute' in their beliefs. Every time they are wrong.

The Seventh Day Adventists have been quite notorious for this (research 'The Great Disappointment' of (March, April and October)1844). They are also notorious for refusing to admit their past mistakes and distorting and concealing their past failed prophecies. Since they have made what they claimed were absolutely truthful factual predictions which turned out to be untrue in the past and those claims are essentially the same as this I believe this shows a pattern of fraudulent behaviour on their part.

Just as I would down-vote a person who claimed a 'Full-HD' tv and delivered an HD one I am down-voting this based upon a well documented history of untrue and potentially dangerous claims from this group. Many people who believe such claims have lost friends, family and their possessions as they surrendered it all expecting the 'End of the World' (TM). This makes such claims as dangerous as any con-artist's schemes or bogus medical cures.

Being a religiously based claim should not protect such posts from scrutiny over their veracity. A dangerous lie is still a dangerous lie even if you throw the words 'Jesus' or 'Bible' or 'Koran' into it.

Why do you hide the fact that you are Seventh Day Adventists….this is not stated on your site anywhere. I find this deceitful. This is no bargain. This is from a cult.

  • Free Frisbees!

  • Getting past the whole argument in which nobody actually wins, is this really a bargain? Or can you order this DVD from them at all times? I'm guessing no matter what if you wrote to them they would probably send this out to you.

  • Be warned this is a Seventh Day Adventist site I am not sure why they choose to hide that information.

    • Maybe for the same reason as other religions that try to shove their ideology down everyone's throat - insecurity (that they may be wrong.)

      • They can't be wrong, some guy told them so over 2000 years ago! It's not like anyone is going to twist his words to their own understanding or benefit!!! ;)
