Pet insurance for 9.5 y/o dog

Hello team,

I'm looking for a pet insurance policy for a 9.5 year old dog that includes illness coverage. Cost is not an issue within reason. Coverage for accident is easy, however it seems that 9 y/o is the cut off for illness coverage :(

    I think the average age of most small to medium breeds of dogs is 10-13 years, so I guess it's not really surprising they won't start cover at 9.5 years given the chance of them having to pay out after potentially only a year or 2 would be statistically large.

    Which of course doesn't help you at all :/

      Yeah, good call. You'd think that some insurer would sell a product for 9+ dogs and simply charge a massive premium. But I suppose at that rate, I'd be better off putting money aside myself…
