Pink Himalayan Salt Crystals $0.60 Per 100g (No Grinder) Wahroonga NSW (Sydney)

100

Our bulk whole food buyers group in Wahroonga NSW (Sydney) has a few excess products from our bulk purchase this month, and one that is a bit of a bargain is Himalayan Salt Crystals at 60c per 100g. Compared to this at Coles at $3.25 per 100g (it's comparative price is $0.33 for only 10g not 100g)

Of course, that one includes the grinder - ours is in bulk, so no grinder is included (but good for refilling your own)

Free pickup from Wahroonga, or will consider posting. Should be able to fit up to 300 grams in an envelope for $1.00 extra to cover post. (AFP are going to love these packets of crystals ;-))

Other excess products available:
Almonds (Insecticide Free Raw) - $1.40/100g

Hi rep what is the method you or your supplier used to sterilized the Almonds? good deal on the salt btw.

    • This is the info we have on the raw almonds:

Insecticide free - They are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, stored without the use of artificial chemicals and are not heat treated.

Organic - No pesticides, herbicides, preservatives or heat treating is involved in the process of these organic raw almonds. Certification: National Association Sustainable Agriculture Australia (NASAA)-NAS

If you need more info, I can confirm with the supplier.

  • how to order the salt by post?

    • Send me PM here, or on Facebook with your details and how much you want, and I'll let you know bank details or paypal.

So when you get NaCl from the Himalayas, is it the Na or the Cl or both that are different to the Australian variety?

    • +2

      It's chemical free NaCl !

      • +2

        But it's not organic. :(

        • +2

I prefer organic salts. e.g. monosodium glutamate.

Can I have fries with that?

I haven't had the Himalayan variety, but I have had the similar product from Murray River Salt. It's salt but with a number of other minerals that give it its pink colour. Here is the analysis for the Murray River Salt

      Technical Data - typical analysis
      Chloride Cl 60.3 %
      Sodium Na 39.1 %
      Magnesium Mg 860 ppm
      Sulphate SO4 3440 ppm
      Calcium Ca 515 ppm
      Potassium K 128 ppm
      Iron Fe 23 ppm
      Iodine I 5 ppm

Analysis is on a dry weight basis. Typical free moisture is 0.5 / 100g. Various elements and bound moisture account for the remaining 0.0925%.

    • The difference is the abundance of other minerals rather than simply having NaCl.

      • I guess my point (if i had a point other than taking the mickey :)) is that the other minerals are in such small amounts that they're pretty negligible from a nutrition point of view. For example you could get many times the potassium, calcium or iron than is contained in the couple of pinches of salt you would eat in a day by eating a banana, a slice of cheese or some red meat or spinach.

  • Delivery to Melbourne?

Or are there any similar stores in Melbourne?

    • I can post you some salt for an extra $1.00 (upto 300 grams). Other products might start to get costly to post- we're just a local group here. There may be one near you.

How much for 1kg of cashews delivered to Melb?

  • -1

Rep, is that $1 TOTAL for posting the salt?

    • -2

WTF? Why would some Moron neg thus comment? The rep has said more than once that it'll be an extra $1 for postage. Does that mean an extra $1 on top of some undisclosed postage charge or $1 on top of the $1.80 for300 g of salt?

  • hi rep,
i would like a kilo of himalayan salt posted to broome. how much would be the postage on that.

    • second on that, but +1kg organic almonds and post to bendigo.

    • PM's sent.

  • is "Himalayan" just a fancy way of saying "Made In China"?

You would have spent less energy typing 'himalayan salt' into a search engine than trying to be a jerk.

Made In Pakistan (about 300km from the Himalayas), another country know for food safety and quality assurance (the Himalayas are in China too)

  • Is it possible to buy and pickup at Wahroonga?

I'm after some salt and cashews.

  • Tried to Edit my post, but not allowing me at this stage - so adding it here:

Thanks for all the orders coming in. Will have to collate them, but at a quick glance, looks like we may be running out of salt. Please hold off ordering and I will confirm with those who have requested and update here.

  • Ok - I've tried to contact everyone and waiting for confirmations. At this stage, we're all SOLD OUT now. If anything changes I'll post back here.

    Thanks for your interest.
