Hi there unfortunately Apple strictly advised that they will not be accepting pre orders for the 6+ since it will be sold directly first on our Virgin stores beginning September 19 then online on a later date.

Their phone insurance is terrible value - $238.80 over 24 months + $200 excess
Compare to AppleCare+ which is $129 for 2 years + $99 excess
but a lot of purchasers might not b thinking all that straight as they rush to be in the first batch of people to receive this marvelous piece of revolutionary…. hang on - this new phone
AppleCare+ does not cover lost/theft phones, which virgin insurance does.

It's not worth exploiting, cause you have to pay the excess every time, they block the IMEI, you may have to go to the police to file a report AND you're paying the monthly fee as well. Too much effort. You get a refurb usually too…

Assuming your regular monthly use is $20, then $60pm makes you pay $40 for the phone each month, thus the phone costs $960 in 24 months. Not pointing out that you may also early upgrade.
I would say $450 and 2.5GB data worth at least $20pm.
With $60 per month you only get $300 + 2.3Gb
good thing about virgin is unused credit gets rolled over! i am on $450 a month but this month i had over $700 in credit to use since I didnt use much the previous month.

If the preorder was available on Sunday 14th when I tried, I'd be getting one. But since the allocation at that time had run out, I got over the hype and decided to try Android (HTC One M8). We'll see how that goes, and maybe the iPhone 6S will win me back.
Is it better if:
1. Buy Kogan voucher from eBay 15% off (ends midnight) of up to $960 in value.
Therefore spend around $816 in separate transactions (eBay limit up to $667).
2. Buy iPhone 6 at Kogan which presumably cheaper than Apple Store. At the moment it's not cheaper, but let's assume it will drop say $40. The assumption is on the base that Kogan would better Apple price.
3. Get Prepaid from Spintel and spend around $20 pm, or Lycamobile unlimited $29pm
In total, you spend approx $816 outright for iPhone 6 64gb, and spend $20pm on prepaid mobile and no contract.
In 24 months, you would spend total $1296, compare to this deal of $1440 with contract, you saved $144 or $6pm.

Personally I would go this, but I prefer the Telstra prepaid just because I love the speed and coverage.
What many people forget to include in these calculation is is the fact that a $20 plan per month can easily cost you 60 or $70 if you slip up just once (which is bound to happen).
Much less of a problem on prepay.
If saving money was an issue yes you would pay for phone outright then go on prepaid. Im on Vaya at $18 a month and its great value. But I want 128GB iP6+ so Ill be happy to pay over two years and claim on tax.

When I had an iPhone 4S, bought from Kogan, that suddenly had a faulty power button, I contacted them and got issued a full refund 2 years after I bought it (used it to buy a new 5S.. woo!). If that's not statutory warranty, then I don't know what is. And no, I didn't have Applecare.

If so, you only receive a one year warranty from Apple HK, and a one year warranty from the reseller who is Kogan HK P/L. If you purchase from Virgin AU you have a one year warranty from Apple Australia and the two year Consumer Guarantee.
It would pretty much be the same in the end. Spintel will cost $24-$27 per month depending if you choose 1.5gb or 2.5gb. 27*24=$648 648+816=$1464

Ok, I have sorted it out by talking to their online chat.
It is true, you will not get 2gb bonus swapping from an Optus based network.
Even the sales agent recommended swapping to a non-optus based prepaid then swap back onto virgin so I guess thats the go.
You also get $35 referral bonus if you can find some existing virgin customer to refer you. If you can't find any, I'm happy to help. :-P

Without virgin I would have never realized how great Vodafone's network was.
I think it depend the location, I am with Vodafone last year until August then switched to Virgin, Virgin has better 3g and calling reception than vodafone. I am still using 3g phone, so no idea on 4g.

As of Oct 1, Optus/Virgin gain 20MHz and Telstra gain 40MHz of extra 4G spectrum on the 2600MHz band.
Voda do not — the only expansion they're doing to their network bandwidth is splitting their 850MHz spectrum in two, and allocating just 5MHz to 4G (by cutting their 850MHz 3G bandwidth in half)
Long story short — Voda's 4G bandwidth advantage in certain capital cities isn't going to last much longer, and willl be in 3rd place much like their 3G bandwidth and general coverage.
Actually your numbers are a bit skewed and to date there are no phones that support the 2600mhz spectrum yet every phone supports the 850 so Voda's move is smart.
If by "no phones" you mean many recent phones including the iPhone 5c/5s/6/6+, Galaxy S4/S5/Note 2/Note 3, HTC One/One M8, LG G2/G3, Xperia Z1/Z2, Nexus 5, and even cheapies like the Moto G 4G…
