Seconded. Phoned up and they said 'no stock in NSW stores, it was discontinued quite a while ago.' >:|

      • +1 Vote because that just saved me lots of time. Thanks for the heads up people. Man I was looking forward to one of those though. They are so awesome and shiny :)

    this deal is average.

    • +3

i'm interested to know where else I can get this cheaper, let us know if you spot an 8Gb under $20 these days :)

This is also not a cheapo no-name drive in a flimsy plastic case..
These are quality memory chips in the best case you can get!

  • can i pick up?

    • +6

      depends what lines you use
Personally I like "Do you have a big USB stick?"

    • Sure man, thanks for this!

  • I think I bought the last one would only let me pay for one eventhough I had 2 in basket

  • I had a previous bad experience with the U3 tech. although Sandisk are generally good but when the U3 first came out I bought a cruzer and I think after a month or so from usage I wasnt able to access the drive using the unlock feature. Ofcourse I couldnt send it either to be fixed due to the sensitive data on it therefore wasnt too happy at the time. Maybe the U3 tech. improved since then but if you are going to use it simply for storage you shouldn't worry about this.

    • +2

I'd blow that U3 crap away to be honest (Sandisk has a tool on the site to do this).

If you want to encrypt the data use something like true crypt (http://www.truecrypt.org/)

  • got 3…lol but including handling makes it >20bucks each~~ it better be better than the kingston 8gb i have~~

  • the only thing i like about these is the replacement process, although the box they send you usb stick back in could fit a laptop

  • +2

This is not really a good deal. It forces you to buy online, which means that you have to pay for the postage and handling fees, which normally average to about 10$. So in the end, you have to pay for $18.71 + $10 = $28.71.

  • please mark as expired - no stock available

  • Note that the speed on these drives are pretty standard. The Sandisk Extreme Contour drives are the fast ones.

Having said that, I just reserved two at the Chadstone store for pickup this arvo. Good for just random file transfers between friends!

I successfully picked up my 8gb sticks. I actually reserved two but the sales person must have put 6 aside for me. I ended up buying 4, so there should be 2 left. The sales chick was eyeballing them, so if you want them better hurry up and call. There were none on the shelves.

Just tested one of the drives. Performance is quite impressive for the price. Write speed consistently 11-12Mb/s, with read speed at 25Mb/s. Better than the normal 7/25 I get with my Sandisk Cruzer Micro 8gb.

      • 2 of them were for me, not happy you picked up the ones i had on hold, although it could be staff at fault too

  • I went to Officeworks, South Melbourne to see if I could get this deal from the store. To my surprise they had the 16GB Cruzer Titanium for $49.90. I decided to buy it, went to the counter, scanned it and the price appeared as $37.46!! There were a few left.

    • Awesome i am heading to ow in an hour

    • Odd…i just called South Melbourne Officeworks, they said they don't have any 16GB or 8GB Titanium in stock. Are they all GONE just this arvo?!

      • Can't be, there was like 5 more hanging there!

  • got the package already…ordered before 1130am and now i have 3 of them …looking alright almost the same as my kingston 8gb

  • Nice Good fine - Thanks

  • Just tried ordering online, and calling a victorian store. No stock available.
