TRS (Tax Refund Scheme) Details I'm Not Sure of

Hi all,

I've got another question:

If I've purchased something from Myer online do I need to request a receipt from instore? Or will my email print out be okay? It has my name address and all on it, but it is my mother who's travelling overseas. It is under $1000 so I was wondering if they'd nitpick etc..

    AFAIK, if your receipt is less than $1000, you don't need your name and address to be printed on the receipt so anyone can claim on TRS.

    I had a friend doing something similar just a few weeks ago and they wanted to see the card used for the purchase (even though it's under $1000).

    You can pre-enter the item details and see what exactly do you need to bring to the TRS counter.

      What happened? Was it successful?
      I don't see why they'd need to check the card though? What if you hadn't brought that card with you? Isn't much they can do about it right?

        Basically the item wasn't bought by the traveler. It was successful after begging shamelessly.
        They don't normally check purchases under $1000, it's just bad luck. I guess you should be fine.
