Android - Unified Remote Full $1.39 (73.6% off)

1880

Get it while it's hot! It hasn't been this price in a long, long time.
Hasn't been such a big discount (or any discount at all) advertised on Ozbargain since 2.5 years ago.

A one off payment permanently gets you ownership of this app (including all updates) on all your android devices (present and future).

I've found this to be the best app to control your computer remotely for watching TV, listening to music etc.
Works with just your wireless network at home or you can configure it to be used over the internet.

According to the description it is only a weekend sale, this is likely to end around 8PM on Monday AEDT.

What's everyone elses thoughts on this app? Worth the money, no better alternatives?

Great app, definitely worth the money.

Had a problem with the app, emailed the developer, turned out to be a bug which they fixed a month or so later.
Emailed me back letting me know it was fixed and to update, good customer service.

Agree with eggnbacon. A great app if you need a remote control for a HTPC, Netflix etc. Heaps of remotes out of the box or you can create your own.

One of the major pluses for me was that it operates over bluetooth. So say you take your laptop away on a holiday, or to do a presentation where internet is not available; you still have a nice remote to use which doesn't rely on having an internet connection.

    • Love this app. Go for it

Extra 10% off for being a play music subscriber. $1.25 for me.

Best app for controlling my computer/s is Teamviewer. Always free. Any connection, by default.

What's great is that all the apps I have bought on Play so far have been paid for by that Google opinions things. I still have around $8 in my wallet from that.

    • +2

Same, except I still have $16 remaining. My wife has $18 on hers.

And then there is the Telstra $30 data packs (which a smart OzBargainer never pays more than $10 for) with $30 google credit on each - I have 3 of those unopened ($90).

The chances of me paying money for an app anytime soon is slim :)

+1. It's great to be taking advantage of Telstra and Google generosity :D.

      • Just out of interest, does that mean you have heaps of phone numbers under your account when you view it on Telstra24x7 or do you close them off when you've transferred the credit?

        • I've actually never used one yet, the 3 Telstra packs I have are yet to be opened, will use the first one this week though.

+1 Yep worthy of your collection.

Teamviewer has it's place also but this app is great in it's own right

  • Ggoing to givethis a go. Thanks OP

  • Is this similar to splashtop?

  • Went to check it out in the playstore and it came up "Purchased". Will have to have another look at this

  • Excellent find! I've been using the free version for a while and it's quite a nifty tool. Was sorely disappointed when they limited a lot of the functionality on the free app, as well as raised the price on this paid app. It used to be priced at around…$4.00 and then it rose to $6.00. Very glad it's quite cheap right now.

  • Why would pay for this when you can get sure remote for free and it works perfectly

  • I bought this thinking it was also a IR remote for TV's/Aircon/Etc. Doh! I now have something better to run the media PC now I guess.

    • +1

If your phone has an IR Blaster you can do that natively. LG G3, LG G4, Samsung S6, Htc One M9, Samsung Galaxy Note, and many others phones have inbuilt IR.

    • Or the post above - sure remote - just looked at it after dlakers3peat posted it, and it mentions aircon.

  • Thanks OP was looking for something just like this

Can someone convince me to spend my lasting google rewards fortune on this?

Personally, I'm satisfied with chrome remote desktop.

    • do it!!!

      • Just do it

        is what you meant?

  • Dammit, 39 cents short :(
Is there a way to fill out a survey?

  • Great app to buy with my free survey money.
