  • David Jones… $26 for a cools weather jacket down from $149.95.
Dick smith otter iphone 6 case for $10 down from $55.

    • iphone 6 case for $10 down from $55.

At $55, I expect the case to be water-proof, glass-shatterproof, terrorist-proof, natural disaster-proof, and end of the world-proof. And to wash my dishes too.

      • It's an otter box, durable for tradies to use. Never had my phone damaged in one.

        • Oh, I assumed "otter" was a typo of "offer"

  • Got this from Ikea for $299
    Original price was $799

    • I have one of these - not so great for adults to sleep on but for kid's friends sleepovers, perfect.

    • My sister is looking to buy this sofa. Where did you manage to get it for that price?

    Got nothing cause poor.

  • Nothing in the end. Almost bought a 4K TV, but it became overwhelming with all of the options and I didn't in the end.

  • I went to Southland reasonably early (8.45am) on Boxing Day, and came home with nothing.

To be fair, I had no "must buys". But I thought I might pick up some outdoor solar LED Christmas Lights for next year. Found nothing. I suspect some stores are not putting these out on sale any more, given that people go mad over them nowadays.

The only other thing I would have liked, was a Sunbeam Vacuum Food Saver. But they are almost never on special for some strange reason. I had a heap of Coles/Myer Gift Cards (from doing online surveys) to use.

Foodsaver was $137.00. I went back today when things were calmer, and managed to get a $12 discount on it! Not much, but I have dithered for over a year now on this. Bit the bullet and bought it. Will probably turn up cheaper somewhere else, but as I had gift cards, it suited me to buy at Myer.

To be honest, I don't think these sales are anything to write home about any more. Just another gimmick in the retail calendar. Most years gone by, I could never find the things I REALLY NEED on special. I guess it is more about impulse spending on STUFF.

      Good summary

A true ozbargainer gets a good deal, irrespective of the retail calendar.
