  • No Gold Coast :(

    • Yeah, I don't know why that is. Seems odd they'd have 2 out of 3 of the international legs on sale.

      • Melbourne and Perth were the only two AU destinations that recently had additional flights announced so that is why OOL missed out.

  • i saw this on the news, was waiting for it to be actually released.

do you know if these prices include booking fee/taxes/luggage?

i am pretty sure they don't include any meal

pretty good prices, but not as good as they had earlier this year in their start of march sale

flights to KL from Melb were 150 or 180 Ringgits which is like $50-60!! shattered i missed that

    • Hey hey,

Prices include fees/taxes, but not baggage (which is $11 each way for 15kg) or meals, which are probably about the same.

Either way, it still ends up pretty crazy cheap (ie: <$350 return) to get to SE asia, which I'm certainly happy about!

    • The on-board Malaysian meals are so delicious!
Only $7 outbound, and $3.50 back home (due to currency exchange rate)

  • Hmmm Im working on a trip to HKG in dec, but the OOL Gold Coast to KL lands at 330pm and the KL to HKG is at 4pm…hmm I dont think I can make it….

    Still…darn good prices ATM.

    • Hmm… There's also 7am KUL-HKG flights. You could always have a shower/sleep at the Tune hotels (at the LCC terminal which I think is about $30) and head off the next morning.

      • hmmm still makes it a cheeep deal….ponders…THX.

        I'll work on that.

        • the other option is to spend a day or 2 in KL and have a look around. I found KL cheaper than HK but obviously the surroundings arent as nice/clean.

    • Earlier this year… I had a crack, I had Cambodia to KL arriving at 1130, KL to melbourne 1215! Only carry on luggage though. Have a go, mate!

  • This is too far in advance.

    • +1

For you? For others? I didn't realise you were the voice of the general public.

Not everyone has to book holidays last minute.

  • Fark that's cheap… But you have to fly Air Asia.

    • Actually Air Asia is pretty good - def the best budget airline. Anywyas you get what you pay for.

      • Isn't this the airline whose seats don't recline?

I believe this has changed now (though haven't checked it out myself yet). I wrote a review for our blog before they changed it when I flew with them from Melbourne all the way to London - It has a fair bit of info about comfort/etc: http://blog.adioso.com/review-melbourne-to-london-with-airas…

@adiosofenn: They are in the process of refitting the planes.
Our flight this Saturday OOL-KUL is non-recline.
Coming back in a week's time is recline.
You can see by searching for a fare and seeing whether they offer 'lie flat' fares, those are only available on the refitted planes.

            • @modsec802: Thanks for the tip! Both flights have the flat bed option :-)

        • I flew AirAsia KL-MEL today, the new seats do recline but they didn't have the IFE screens on the back of seats anymore (although I think you could rent a unit).

I paid $120 for the return trip to KL including taxes so these new fares don't seem that cheap to me.

  • Checked the flights I booked during the 20% off sale (Gold Coast - KL return). More expensive now. Phew!

    • Obviously, Gold Coast isn't on sale.

  • Melbourne to HCM for $192 is pretty damned insane.

Is this direct Melb - HCM or stop over @ KL?

    • stop-over. KL is the only destination from Melb.

  • I usually check ozbargain every day but did not see this deal. Lucky I heard Dicko on the radio this morning doing a little ad for AirAsia.

I've been looking for flights in October for the MotoGP - one of the best circuits and incredibly great value!
Just booked a 1 week holiday in KL around the MotoGP weekend for $280 Return! Including 15kg luggage, meals and comfort kit.

I LOVE AirAsia and KL is a beautiful city with such friendly people.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you keep regularly checking your flights online 1-2 days before departure, they supposedly try to call you to let you know of changes (which are common) but this is no use when you do not have a phone overseas. They did not even email me!
