Coles PrePaid $10 SIM Starter Kit $2.00 (save $8.00)
Optus PrePaid $10 SIM Starter Kit $2.00 (save $8.00)

So it's official now and some people got in early?

    • Based on experience, it won't be in stock.

Also with mobile, they have bit different rain check policy

      • +1

Bait and ditch, huh? Sounds like Optus, alright. Good thing I got a couple the other night.

        • Just curious on the expiry date on your $10 Optus Sims?

        • @ozhunter68: June 2018 IIRC.

        • @greenpossum:
Thanks. Why am I the only one who got these with a 1/12/16 expiry so far posted on Ozbargain this week.

      • Yep. Tried to get the Boost starter from 3 different stores for last week's special and no stock to be seen.

    • Suceeded in buying 10 of the Coles $10 starter packs for $20 yesterday. Might try and get 10 more tomorrow. Only downside is the expiry: 1st December 2016.

Are the connoisseur flavours changed yet at coles like at woolies when they brought back some flavours. Gotta get some white choc raspberry

    • Pistachio FTW!

    • White Choc Raspberry is my favourite flavour but it always seems to be the hardest to find in stock. Pretty sure they still make it though

      • It was rotated out for about 2 years with some other flavours

    • omg finally back to half price! I was in coles yesterday and they were clearing stock($1.50) both connoisseur and magnum for the new flavors. I noticed one was peanutbutter and pretzel!- if its anything like ben and jerry's peanutbutter and pretzel should be awesome.

I can't seem to find chocolate obsession anywhere at the moment, it's way better than the Belgian choc that seems more common 😕

        • +1

I agree, I wonder why it is no longer stocked at any of the local Coles/Woolworths I visit anymore.

    Dat Connoisseur.

So is the 24 Cans of Pepsi $9 or $9.90 ?
I'm guessing the description is correct.

    • I'd like to know as well.

      $9 is a great deal
$9.90 is only an average deal

      • +3

Its 90 cents ffs. Who gives a shit.

        • +13

Mate do you know which site you're on?

Don't buy Malaysian canola oil when you can buy Australian (Glden) oil for about the same price ($9/4l) this week in Woolworths.

    • +3

They're owned by the same company

      • I care about the product not the owner.

    • +1

      Why?

      • +1

Rainforest depletion to make way for cash crops, Australian vs Malaysian quality control and carbon footprint.

Oh, also, ye godda buy 'Strine, haven'tcha?*

        *Only joking!

Connoisseur! time to restock the spare freezer.
The new Golden Syrup flavour sounds alright…

Connoisseur half price. Bacon half price. There's never been a more exciting time to be an Australian.

Connoisseur half price. Bacon half price. There's never been a more exciting time to be an Australian fat.

      Fixed that for you :P

      • The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Also eating bacon tends to curb a person's appetite unlike supposedly eating healthy things such as breakfast cereal. Eating bacon and eggs for breakfast everyday will lead to substantial reduction in food intake. The person will not be reaching for more food by 11AM as the consequences of not eating protein ensures they feel hungry again - and they'll probably reach for more low protein "health" food again which will cause them to over eat just as it was designed to do.

        • +2

I've lost 5kg over the last 6 weeks by careful eating and including more protein in my diet. That includes an egg every morning for breakfast, accompanied by bacon 2 or 3 times a week.
So half price bacon is good news for me.
But half price Connoisseur icecream will be my downfall - if it's that price, I can't resist buying it. And if it's in my fridge, it draws me like a magnet. Connoisseur icecream and careful eating just shouldn't be in the same sentence.

        • I think that depends on whether the breakfast cereal is something like coco pops vs something like porridge.

Anyway, my main concern about bacon is not the fat content, but the fact that the WHO lists it as a class 1 carcinogen.

Half Price Tyrells. 12 Months ago I'd have been excited, but they've since become a local product instead of an English export, and they're made from Aussie Grown spuds - not the same ones they used in England. Basically, the Sea Salted ones don't taste anywhere near as good anymore in my opinion. Bit of a shame - they were my favourite for a while.

Anyone tried Mrs Macs Microwave Egg & Bacon Roll… the picture does not look appetizing but I was thinking of buying a few to throw in the freezer at work?

    FYI picture: http://www.mrsmacs.com.au/our_pies/pies/crispy-microwave-egg…

    • Nope, but I quite like their microwave quiches. I wonder if it's literally only the egg & bacon roll that's half price, or whether it means the whole range is half price.

  • You had me at "bacon"

  • Coles have got some sort of "missing letter" promotion going on. I don't know the details. I saw a reference to it when I downloaded the catalogue.

    • not active until next week.

Twinings 80-100 packs at half price are a good special.

This week is definitely stocking up time.

    Connoisseur Ice Cream
    Short Cut Bacon at $9.09/kilo
    Twinings Tea
Birds Eye Atlantic Salmon at $22.14/kilo.

    • Is the Primo stuff any good?

  • Which Connoisseur flavour is good?

    • +1

This is of course subjective, but quite a few are good, which you won't go wrong with: Murray River Salted Caramel, Cafe Grande, Chocolate Obsession (hard to find), Belgian Chocolate, Caramel Honey Macadamia, Raspberry with White Choc.

Haven't even tried the new flavors, which looked really interesting.

The Cookies and Cream and Chocolate Honey Nougat, to me are a bit average.

      • Hmm I see, I was initially going to try the Chocolate honey nougat,
however I shall choose from the flavours you recommended.
I've tried Belgian Chocolate before, although that one was way too sweet/strong to have on its own.

  • Where can i find specs on the "ZTE Chat 4G"? How does it compare with the ZTE Blade or Fit?

  • just out of interest how do you list the half price items on the coles website like the woolies site??
