The usual post for those looking for SD cards, picked out the best prices from all the participating sellers for each size. No decent prices on 32GB so left it out, the 128GB is a great price $4 less than previous deals. All items posted from Australia.

(Edit: Changed 128GB link from Shopping Square $47.96 originally to Shopping Express $45.60 (now OOS), now to Futu Online $46.80, now back to Shopping Square $46.36 due to recent price drops.)

  • Hi, I think there is typo on the last one. It should be 128?

    • Ah yes, thank you

  • +1

how come only has 1 year warranty?
    samsung site stated

Limited 10 years * Warranty is limited for any type of surveillance system. ** Warranty for SD adapter is limited to 1 year

  • Does anyone know if these are reliable for dash cam use?
I notice a few forums recommend the Lexar 633x and to stay away from the Sandisk Ultra.

    • I'd so go for it, 1080p at 30fps on a Go Pro is about 4mb/s.

This has a write speed of 20mb/s.

I only have an evo in mine and have no problems

    • I guess it depends on your dash cam(?) I have the 64GB evo+ and I've been using it in my GoPro with the 1080p at 60fps video setting as a dash cam for the last few months and I've never had any issues (issues such as data corruption, write/read fail, speed issues, leaving it in heat). According to my PC, you get the advertised write speeds.

    • The Transcend 64GB endurance is the recommended card for dash cam usage and it's rated at 2100 cycles, uses MLC technology and is about 3-6 times more reliable than any TLC card like the Samsung Evo/Evo+ range.

If you bought an A119 which can store 7hrs of footage on a 64GB card, and you drive 7hrs a week, then you're looking at a total lifetime of 7-14 years for your 64GB Evo card. 42 years out of the Transcend card with a guarantee if it dies early.

Just note that Samsung voids all warranty for any type of card used in surveillance devices. Definitely stay away from Sandisk Ultras as they have an extremely high failure rate and are not compatible with a lot of dash cams (obviously no warranty at all as well). Lexar cards are also guaranteed in surveillance devices and use MLC technology.

So yeah, theoretically it should be OK unless you have your dashcam hard-wired going around the clock 24/7 because then it's only going to last 100 days. Personally I'd be happy to have it die on me because even if it's only 2 years, the 128GB card will be the same price as the 64GB card by then. No point paying 2-4x the cash because I don't plan on my card to last 40 years and it is a small risk that the day the card fails is the day I get into an accident I needed recorded.

  • Argh! Not again. I paid $5 more by going through Futu.

Really couldn't be arse cancelling it

  • Will this work on a SOny action cam x3000 to record 4K?

    • The camera has a few 4K bitrates. It might do the lower one, but not the best 4K settings.
This is a $600 camera, dont cheap out on the card get a U3 made for sequential video. These are general purpose ideal for phones.

  • hmm tempted to get 64gb so i can put whole season 1-5 of breaking bad
    but why not under $20.

    • Item currently "Out of stock"

      • Thanks, marked it as out of stock. Added alternate listing here for $22.36 as the next best deal.

  • Perfect timing! Thanks OP

Don't know what the difference is.

The PC Byte one dropped price 40 minutes ago, must be beating this deal. It was $65.95 before coupon when posting this.

Thanks for the Shopping Express link! Looks like they dropped their price even further also just 15 minutes ago:

      17-Nov-16 11:09:05 AEDST
      Buy It Now Price

Updated deal for now, they won't last long only 10 available.

Edit: Futu have dropped price now when that SE deal runs out.

  • Bah! Paid $2 extra in the last deal! Spewing!!! :P

    • +1

Same, except I went to the wrong Shopping Express ebay to get the 64GB for an extra $3 total… bah

  • hmm, the coupon won't apply for me. Read the T&Cs. no idea what I am doing wrong…. oh well, next time then

    • Tried the Futu & Ssquare options and they both worked for me. Eg Futu:

      Item (1) AU $58.50
      Postage Free
      Vouchers -AU $11.70
      Order total AU $46.80

What error are you receiving? Try clicking 'PayPal' in checkout, logging in, then applying coupon.

      • I have the same issue as kaos. This is the error I keep receiving: "We removed any vouchers you already applied. You can try using them on a future purchase."

But I haven't applied this voucher before - first time using it…

        • A couple people mentioned that in other threads, looks like a bug with eBay. Might be best to contact them and hopefully they can fix it up, I believe they have a live chat.

    • it worked after I restarted my browser (24 hours later) and logged in to Paypal. Thanks for your help everyone!

  • Excellent prices.

Needed a 64GB a couple weeks ago, and paid $23.40
    Good post OP

  • Are there any 256gb micro sd cards available?

    • +1

None sorry, they never seem to be in stock from those sellers that offer them.

      • Yeah, I just had a look and either they've sold out or made them unavailable during the sale. Thanks anyway!

  • any good deal on 4k recording U3 cards?

  • Are these good for a DSLR camera? Can someone please advise me a good sd card for my Canon 750D. I also thought I'd buy a spare battery if anyone knows the battery on sale . Thanks in advance

    Hello guys

Will this work with go pro 4. Also would like to know if this can be used in Nvidia shield tv.

    Thanks in advance

    • gee as long your device can accept micro sd then it WILL work. and if you dont know if your device can take or not, just google it.
the proper question to ask is if this card can record xxx resolutions, fast enough? .. something like that… but again this is good brand and good speed so i think as long you are not professional go pro-er and sell video for money, then should be fine.

  • +1

Do these (specifically the 64gb model) all come with an SD card adapter?

    • +3

I messaged them on eBay and just got a reply:

this item (eBay Item No.: 201399913352) does not include any SD adapter.

      • Thanks a lot mate! That's strange, Samsung usually put adapters in with the MicroSDs, don't they?

        • +1

No probs. I believe that the seller include the adapters, not the manufacturer themselves. Last time I purchased an SD card the adapter was a generic one outside of the package, I assume the stores get them in bulk for a matter of cents and just throw them in.

There are plenty on eBay for a dollar or maybe even less on AliExpress if you can't find a cheap 64GB listing that includes one. Some previous deals didn't advertise that they come with adapters but people received them anyway so probably worth messaging the store if the listing doesn't mention them.

        • +1

Samsung sell both packages, with and without, the RRP is the same.

However, given that the ones with are all going at the recent price hike of $29 each, I'd happy pay $4 less for one without.

  • Thanks just got the Samsung EVO plus 64GB microsd for $20.80 shipped
Guys if you are comparing prices please compare with EVO plus instead of non-plus which is generally $5 cheaper and almost half as slow ;)

    • Just note that is is only the read speed that is half as slow (45MB/s vs 85MB/s). The write speeds are virtually identical at about 23MB/s. These are the numbers I got from testing the cards I bought off PC Byte. They match what is stated on the Samsung website even though my cards are made in the Philippines. I guess they are not all made in Korea anymore.

      • only kimchi still made in korea. anyway in what case the read speed is important? (so people are willing to spend extra $ to get this plus version)

      • Yes that is correct. For high write speed you have to go for Samsung Pro microsd which are rated for 80MB/s write speed but they are waaaaay more expensive than EVOs.
