Glad I bought a full priced washing machine yesterday! FML

    • +1

Appliances online 15% offer came just after I bought a new fridge, You are not alone!

      • applicanes online have jacked their prices!

        • +2

applicanes online have jacked their prices!

Rubbish, they actually dropped many prices when the 15% sale came about.

        • @Maverick-au:
yesterday the SMS68M38AU dishwasher was $1187 and now it's $1207…

        • @leeroys_dad: $20 is 'jacking their prices'? Seriously…

        • @kevsta89:
that was just one example from an item i was watching…. i'm sure it's not hte only one… $20 increase on all items? a lot of money there

        • @leeroys_dad:
I just bought SMS68M38AU from TGG for $973… bargain!

        • @leeroys_dad:

It's been $1,217 all week. I know cause I've been watching since my dishwasher died 2 weeks ago.

I snapped one up for $973 as well! Great timing

        • +1

          @brian88:
yeh TGG has been $1217, but appliances online had it for $1187 but they increased this morning
          what a deal!

        • +1

          @leeroys_dad:

but appliances online had it for $1187 but they increased this morning

So you're saying that a retailer can only put prices down but never up? They had a lower price during their 15% of sale and you complain that they raised the price after that sale was over by $20 and they were still the cheapest!

And you neg the good guys deal despite buying from their deal!

Sheesh some people are never happy, they always find something to whine about.

        • @leeroys_dad:

that was just one example from an item i was watching…. i'm sure it's not hte only one… $20 increase on all items? a lot of money there

Appliances online change their prices all the time, this is one example of one product having a $20 price increase but it was still the cheapest available price.

They didn't increase all their prices by $20 and to suggest they did is absurd.

There were dozens of examples during their 15% of sale of price reductions and only one or two increases from before the sale started.

        • @Maverick-au:
I negged too early when they did some dodgy stuff removing products - but they're back on now. It won't let me change the vote?

I thought the 15% appliances online sale started today and that's why prices increased??
edit: worked out how to revoke

        • @leeroys_dad:

See how you're a glass half empty person, straight away you assume they were doing something dodgy when they were probably sorting out an issue with their eBay store for the sale.

I thought the 15% appliances online sale started today and that's why prices increased??

That sale started weeks ago and has probably finished by now. If you look at the posts for that sale you will see many price drops and some were substantial.

        • @leeroys_dad:

I don't think they do it just because of this. I've been watching this Philips HR2358-06 Pasta and Noodle Maker for some time, waiting for that miracle $50 voucher again and they had this pasta maker on their site for $338 several days ago. Then changed to $366 ~2 days ago. Before that was ~$355. It's more like they are checking prices every day and adjusting for whatever reason, rather than jacking up.

      • Mate, thats where I bought my washer lol, I missed the sale because the washer wasn't dead until yesterday so didnt know I was in the market for one.
        so pee'd off.

    • Use 28 degrees card - if the price changes within 6 months of your purchase they'll refund you the difference.

      • +1

Only if you have activated price protection

  • +6

Something wack is going on the their eBay store right now. Checking various sections such as laundry, item counts are going from 0 to 7 to 3 to 0 etc.

    • +2

Yep, was checking vacuum cleaners, they had a heap, went away and came back 5 mins later and half had disappeared!

      • Damn. Definitely on the market for a new vacuum…

      • +3

        yep they are culling stock!

      • The good ol' eBay.

    • I've been waiting for a TGG ebay 20% off to buy a dryer for months. Let's hope they don't screw me over!

  • +2

    havent seen any actual bargains

  • Is it ONLY for home appliances and TVs?

    • Seems so, there are no cameras or other electronics listed.

0 results found in Small Kitchen Appliances

Looks like they're jacking up their prices and disabled all Small Kitchen Appliances.

    • argghh trying to get a kitchenaid artisan 160.. i know not the cheapest at just under 600 after discount, but have been wanting to get one for a while

    • Some of these eBay deals are becoming a joke.

  • +11

Plenty of stock in stores but not online now there's an eBay 20%. Reflects poorly on GTG - think I'll go elsewhere thanks to this

    • Interestingly this has improved since my original post so try again if you are after something - good luck

    • Not unusual especially with TGG being a franchise.
They will have 'allocated' stock for click and collect online/eBay sale, and stock on hand for walk in buyers

  • +4

dishwasher out of stock. goodguys is badguys actually.

  • Interesting, searching their eBay site shows no results. Price jacking in the background maybe?

  • TV I looked at was already $100 over the in store price, and its in Melbourne so postage on top would probably mean paying the same as if you walked into a store. Dodgy.

    • I take it back. Just ordered the Sony 49 inch Tv for $636. Assuming they honour it, a great price.

  • If the 55" M7000 holds true that's not bad value, JB has 50" for 898, but most likely JB would price match GG eBay anyway. I prefer JB to The Good Guys, but that's just me.

    • +4

you realise that JB owns GG?

      • +1

Yeah, JB will still price match though. Well, ideally they should. Each business should operate relatively independent of one another and should still act to try and outdo one another. Ultimately the parent company still brings in the revenue but there is incentive for each business to operate as efficiently as possible. Ideally that's the case anyway. You might find JB refuses to match TGG which I think would be silly, but that's just me.

        • This guy posts almost everything he is thinking.Hmmm.Why does he do that?Excuse me sir…
Do you post everything you are thinking?
I am sorry if this offend you but I guess I'm too observant.Ideally I don't think you should, but that's just me.

    • I actually used to always prefer TGG and did not see this sort of behaviour from them prior to JB's acquisition.

      • I've always thought the The Good Guys were shit. Every store in SA, admittedly before JB bought them seemed to be staffed with knobs. That was always my experience. And let's be honest, any business that calls themselves 'The Good Guys' are probably a bit shady. JK, actually, plenty of business have crap staff but my experiences at JB were always better. Maybe I look rough and ready.

        • +1

Sounds like you've had a consistently bad in-store experience with them. Mine has been different, perhaps because I'm in another state?

In terms of in-depth product knowledge I've found JB and TGG staff to be equally bad - I've found most of them either ignorant or trying to BS you. One of my golden rules is to never get product advice from a sales person anyway (thank God for the internet!).

So the bottom line for me is the price and I've been able to get better deals from TGG over the years - both in-store and on-line.

The most recent example is the Chromecast 2 I picked up last week for $35. I don't ever remember JB having a similar deal.

'Small kitchen appliances' -> One item displayed - a Breville sandwich maker

    Riveting sale, GG.

    • +2

      I get 330 items displayed?

  • -5

Breville Coffee Grinder please. It's my birthday tomorrow and I don't want to be hand grinding all the beans!

Edit: Welp, looks like I'll be hand grinding my beans. The BCG820 isn't listed :(

  • Wondering if i can buy the stuff on eBay but pick up from local shop? No postage cost then. Thank you

    • Are you associated with the Good Guys or eBay?

      • +1

        Or phat phingered

      • I never bought anything from the good guys on eBay, don't know how it works for delivery. Oh, sorry, I ticked the box of "associated with the good guys" accidentally.

        • Ok thanks. Removed.

        • @neil: Sometimes you should allow a voting option for moderators comments. +1 for prompt actions.

    • Does how pickup availability when I tried checking out a TV

    • Yes you can.

    • Yes! But TGG ebay will allow you to select pick up from store that has stock at that moment.

I paid delivery for a new washing machine $36 which is cheaper than the $66 I would have been charged from the store direct!

    • yes you can

  • +3

I did have my eye on a cheap Asus F540SA laptop… went up from $449 to $497, laptop category not included in deal though

  • +1

lots of items are greyed out and cannot buy.. wth (washing machines)

    • I was able to by an LG Front loader and it's getting delivered this morning.

In fact I had ordered from my closest TGG and paid $875 delivered (plus $148 for Concierge) but called back to cancel an hour later as I found out the 20% deal just started.

In the end it cost me $753 (shipping was $35) but delivery was from another local store as they had it in stock!

      • Did they install it for that price?

  • +3

They have removed all the A/C from their ebay store!

    • +1

      but…you upvoted

      • :)
Just wanted to allow them some time, so reserved my Neg Vote

  • Good guys also took down all Fridges! Damn, i needed one.

PRICE WATCH: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-SR318LSTC-318L-Top-Mo… was $648 it will probably increase in price.

    • I think it's an issue with the search function.

I couldn't find my washing machine when searching using eBay but using chrome and searching the model number and TGG eBay store it came up! Saved $179

  • Just in case of anyone buying Dyson vacuum and struggling with types
Here's a good past comment for explaining the variation

    • I got this deal prior to Christmas l got the v8 animal its great, but l only paid $550.00 l did purchase another this time for my mum, as l'm not sure l will be able to purchase again for $550.

  • +10

Neg for significant lack of stock / fluctuating levels.
Will revoke if this settles down.

  • does a weber BBQ count as an appliance?

  • We are looking to get a new fridge at least 550L with inverter compressor technology. Any recommendation from TGG range?

  • +1

I don't know what they are doing, seems like they are removing the listed items, and I randomly tried several items listed, there is no "add in cart" nor "buy it now" buttons.

  • Its Just a marketing ploy. No Stock for bluray dvd players.

  • Why everything is out of stock?

    • +11

Please wait until they jack up their prices.

  • 10% price jackup. used to be $224
