How do I Unlock my Vodafone R215 4G Modem?

I bought a Vodafone R215H(?) from mobileciti a month ago. Back then they had two versions of this particular modem, a locked and unlocked modem with the unlocked one costing ~$8 more. Being the ozbargainer that I am I opted for the Voda-locked one and now I'm wishing to switch to an Optus data plan.

So I went to the vodafone unlock site and typed in my IMEI, after doing this it asked if I bought directly from Voda or otherwise.

First attempt - I clicked No and it said to please contact my supplier for details on how to unlock.
Second - I clicked yes and it gave me the unlock code - but what do I do with it?

Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction - is my device forever locked to Voda? If not, what do I do with this unlock code?

I believe you need to insert a non-Vodafone SIM card into your device and then you'll have the option to enter in the unlock code.

Correct - that's exactly what I did to unlock mine. After inserting a non-Vodafone SIM card, you should be automatically redirected to an unlock page.

OP, if you don't get automatically redirected, copy/paste this URL (http://192.168.1.1/simlock.asp) into your web browser and the unlock page should come up with an option to enter the unlock code.
