DJI Mavic Pro - $1399 @ Umart

30

Umart currently have the Mavic Pro for $1399pp. As far as I know, they are an authorised DJI distributor so it's Aus stock with local warranty. Seems like the cheapest deal for local stock right now.

  • Local Stock? Comes up on my screen as a "pre-order" so who knows when stock may become available? Only place that come up with any stock is Sunshine Coast store. How many do they have?

It was in stock at my local store (milton) this morning. Smart don't grey import soninhighly doubt that this would be a grey import.

    • Yeah most low volume products are only in-stock in their Queensland stores, however they will send stuff free between stores and from personal experience only takes a few days.

      • Yes. If one store doesn't have stock they will usually get it from a store with stock.

  • I'd be all over this if it was the Fly More combo at this price

    • Everyone would :p

    • Fly More was $1550 the other day. I'm sure it won't be long before it drops to $1400 (or lower).
We're getting close to the time of year where we're expecting to hear news of a Mavic 2 release.

I Paid $1282.50 from Australian Camera Sales eBay store last month during the 15% off offer. They are also an authorised DJI distributor and had no issue purchasing extended warranty directly from DJI Australia.

    • Unless they are going by another name, "Australian Camera Sales" is not an authorised DJI distributor. Check for yourself here: http://www.dji.com/where-to-buy

Note though that purchasing from authorised source or not does not impact on your ability to purchase DJI care refresh (which I think is what you meant by "extended warranty"?), as far as I can tell.

Key thing to note is this: DJI care refresh protects against damage from normal use, whereas warranty protects against faults.

So, if you fly the drone into a wall and damage the gimbal, you're covered — because you bought Care Refresh. If the motors burn-out, then as a defect it's a warranty issue — and you may potentially run into problems if you haven't purchased from an authorised dealer

      • There would be manufacturers warranty though. But would mean sending it to China or wherever it came from for warranty which would be a headache

        • I would think warranty claims would need to be dealt through the seller — who in turn may deal with the manufacturer (DJI)

It does add an extra step in the process which may or may not make things more complicated - YMMV

        • @devpress: I was wondering about that. Esp with all these deals from HK coming along. They are very tempting though.

        • @mit:

          It is a risk.

In addition to the number of times I've seen people say on ozB that so-and-so are an authorised dealer for DJI (when it isn't the case), what also concerns me are sellers who post a deal here and claim they are authorised dealers — when that also isn't the case.

And also people confusing the fact that just because you can buy/apply Care Refresh on a drone they just purchased, well that must mean it was bought from an authorised dealer.

        • @devpress: Agreed. Though there are a lot of non-authorised dealers advertising or impying as though they are, which makes it much harder for everyone. At least if it's a Australian-based physical store, you could use consumer rights to get your issue fixed within the first year. Any time after that would be a pain though. Not sure why DJI have geographically locked their products with regards to repair/support.

      • Going by my invoice they trade as Camera House in Macarthur, Sydney which is registered as an authorised DJI retail store on the DJI site.

        • That's a pretty good price then. Nothing on their ebay site says they are camera house though…

  • It says only preorder from me. Even from milton.

  • @OP: how do you know umart is an authorised dealer?

It would seem to me that's not the case, as umart does not appear on DJI's authorised dealer/distributor page.
