Basically it has that $10 expansion included and a bunch of avatars?

      • +2

        $20 expansion

  • +14

    Best game of 2017, IMO.

      • +2

How dare they have an opinion

        • +6

to be fair, Where's_That_Cake is offering his own opinion too

        • +2

More to the point, how dare it be different!

      • Best game?

        • -2

It's got to be Breath Of The Wild. I love my PS4 but that game blew HZD out of the water. I didn't even finish HZD as it was so shallow in comparison.

        • +10

@Where's_That_Cake: Should have played more games

        • +1

@Where's_That_Cake: I own both, I prefer HZD, however I think BotW is awesome. I really enjoyed the tactics in HZD, if you have the difficulty up high, you need to use different weapons and attacking techniques to defeat the enemy.

I really enjoy needing to use different tactics in different situations in games. Traps were mostly a let down in HZD though.

        • @FabMan:

I finished hzd and then saw someone on Yt pick up those two massive guns on the side of the Trex things and use it against them. Fuuuuck.

        • -5

@wacky004: Hey, I understand I'm in a thread that is obviously going to attract the HZD fans and also because I didn't pick a Sony game that makes me a Sony hater but facts are that BOTW is by far the most popular choice for GOTY 2017 (try googling it) and that I probably play more PS games and have a higher trophy count than anyone here (so I'm no Sony hater)

        • -1

@FabMan: I appreciate that you preferred HZD but for me I just couldn't get over the restrictions that it had when compared to BOTW's truly open world and it's unbelievably great physics that just opened so many new ways to explore it all. It is a true masterpiece imho. If I had played HZD first I think I would have wanted to continue and finish it but I got bored with it after a few hours and haven't ever wanted to play it again.

        • @cymon: How else would you beat those big buggers? Spending 20 minutes slowly whittling down their health? :D

        • @Where's_That_Cake: I struggled with HZD for the first few hours myself, I persisted because I was told it was good. It got much better, well tactically at least, same everything else, but the way you beat one robot does not work on another, so you have to change your methods. Modifying your distance, do you choose to destroy, remove or leave components, do you remove pieces of armour, do you tear weapons off it to use against it, do you use elemental damage, do you change damage type mid battle, do you hack a nearby unit to assist in the battle, do you lay traps to get them to walk into it, do you precisely aim at weak spots, launch area effecting bombs or spray and pray, do you take a potion before and during battles, do you tie them down?

Usually in games when fighting humans, and in this game too when fighting humans, one tactic is good enough and it gets boring, the increasing difficulty of robotic enemies is where it shines, well for me anyway.

        • @FabMan:
          20 mins. Lol.

        • @cymon: I know, I was being silly. I found the Thunderjaw hard when I first encountered it, now it is easy squeezy lemon peasy.

        • +3

@Where's_That_Cake: Actually, you're the bad guy here.
Coming into a thread and being a dick to other people "Should have played more games" when someone expresses an opinion and then following up with a wang-measuring "I probably play more PS games and have a higher trophy count than anyone here" proves nothing but self-importance with more than a touch of arrogance. Especially when no-one called you a Sony hater or anything of the like. It also makes you look like a kid in more ways than one.

Also, my dad can beat up your dad and my runners are faster than your runners. That's how you sound. Grow up, mate.

@Scipio: Well actually foreskin breath I was trying to show that I am a PlayStation gamer first and foremost and it's actually a wonder that I am enjoying a Nintendo Game for once.

        • @Where's_That_Cake: Better not have a different opinion, you will get negative votes.

        • +2

@Where's_That_Cake: “and have a higher trophy count than anyone here”

          Doubt it ;)

      Easily best game of 2017

    • Personally found HZD to be rather boring. It was the usual open world affair not much different to the likes to Tomb Raider or Far Cry.

Don't really understand all the praise about Zelda either. Story and dialogue is way too simplistic to keep me instereted.

      • 2017 GOTY?

      • i don't think people play zelda for the story/dialogue, they play it mostly for the gameplay

      • Then I play AC Origins and get over the long dialogue sequences for basic tasks for 'Quest: Talk to John next to you', such a dramatic tone for everything and such a waste of my life I skip half of the dialogues.

One of the best games of last year. Go for it if you gave a PS4.

    • +14

      I didn’t give PS4 to anyone, should I buy?

      • Autocorrect strikes again…

  • +1

Just finished playing this played more than 80 hrs including the DLC finished with about 87% completion

Would have been GOTY for me but for BOTW looks great in 4K on the PS4PRO

  • So the base game is cheaper than the DLC. I just want to buy the DLC on special.

  • +1

The DLC is $19.95 at the moment

    • -2

Where can I get the base game for $5???

      • +3

This deal is for the base game only.
If you are looking for $5, come back after 10 years.

  • +1

Game of the year for me. At the very least, this game doesnt disappoint if youre into these open world rpg type games.

  • Despite not loving this, I did finish the main story and I'm tempted to get this so I can try it out on my new TV… Apparently it looks amazing in HDR… Anyone got an opinion on this?

    • It does indeed look amazing in 4K + HDR, I can confirm :)

  • +2

If you don't have ps plus, get the trial. If you have used the trial, open a new account.

  • +1

At $25 I'll finally give this a spin. Thanks op

  • +1

    Great game

  • Great game and worth every cent at this price. I'm just about to download the DLC.

  • Are people forgetting Nier: Automata and Persona 5 when they are talking about GOTY?

  • +1

Worth every cent. Game of the year argument is irrelevant, it's a great game and at this price awesome bang for buck
