    pity it uses cr2032 batteries …

    • +4

      What's wrong with that? Needs slim batteries to keep it thin

    • Pretty standard for kitchen scales

      I got a no name set from ebay that uses aa in 2011 that has been excellent.
      They were $8.50 delivered.
      Here is an identical item:
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10kg-1g-Precision-Electronic-Dig…

      I have replaced the batteries once, I think.

        They look nothing alike, the ebay onces look like something a ice dealer would use

        • +1

          How much ice you buyin' bruh?

      • I got the same one a month or two ago. It's pretty good. It takes 2xAA batteries, and it works with eneloops.

    Thanks OP, there's a wide range of item's on clearance @ Good Guys

    • Bought a 2 pack Mitsubishi for $2.80 at my local Daiso.

    thanks OP, got one. C&C worked for me(local store out of stock, had to choose another store)

    I like digital scales, so much better than the older sort.
    Not keen on cr2032s, never seen a cr2032 eneloop bargain.

    You can use coins to test them.
    5c = 2.83g
    10c = 5.65 Twice a 5 cent coin
    20c = 11.3 Twice a 10 cent coin
    50c = 15.55

    • Thats useful, thanks

    • a set of test weights on ebay is pretty cheap. the el-cheapo scales i've got from ebay are pretty much spot on.

      • Yeah, these scales only have 1g increments so I find the cheap test weights on ebay more suitable, if the point is to check a scale's accuracy.

        The other thing to keep in mind is that cheap scales may not have 100% linear strain gauges, so if you normally weigh things that are 500-1000g, accuracy should be checked with a weight in that range, rather than a coin that's 1/100th the weight.

  • What uses would you use this for? Just measuring bowls for baking stuff?

    • You've never wanted to weigh something under 3kg?
      Very useful. I use mine every week.

      • not really, can you give me some examples and then i'll be a true ozbargainer and buy it ? lol

        i mean we have the small measuring spoons but for weighing something under 3kg, never really

        • +3

          I use mine to weigh eBay parcels.

          Didn't think I would have a need until I started using it. Happy I bought.

          Cooking, restrictive dieting, portion controlling food - weighed before freezing, when posting things, weighing items when packing for regular overseas trips (7kg carry on only),…

        • +3

          @Herbse: gotta work out how much it weighs so you can do the meths.

          I'll wait for methnerd to confirm.

    • +3

      not accurate enough for weighing meth as a dealer, only as a distributor.

    Thanks for the great find! Needed some scales since old kmart cheap ones died so fast

  • +2

    Thanks OP grabbed 2 + shipping.

  • +3

    Do they weigh lower than a gram? Asking for a friend.

    • No the error is +-1g. See my comment below for a scale that can do below a gram (error +-0.1g).

  • NSW - only available for C&C in Dubbo, Tamworth and Port Macquarie. Looks like I have to stump up the $5 postage

    • I just got a call from Kotara in NSW and she said there is no stock anywhere so they have had to place an order with the supplier.

      No ETA until Monday though, once the order has been processed with their supplier.

  • +1

    If you need more accurate scales American Weigh do a nice scale.

    Great for bagging up things were accuracy is important.

    • They don't ship to Aus though.

    • No stock at Alexandria but I managed to pick up the 1023WHDR14 which also measures liquid for 1/2 the price for $12.50.

      How does it measure liquid?

      • You can weigh liquids on any scale using a kilogram readout as long as they are a similar density to water.

        You would only need a liquid measure feature for weighing liquids that have a different density to water, like honey or oil. In those situations you need a ml or fl.oz function on the scales.

        If that doesn't sound like you in the kitchen, then stick with the scales the OP posted I guess!

        • You can weigh liquids on any scale using a kilogram readout as long as they are a similar density to water.

          Yes, that's what I do now. I was wondering what was so special about that model that lets it weigh liquids - does it let you select the density manually? There are no details on the product page on the TGG website.

      • How does it measure liquid?

        using witchcraft

    • Hi sent you a PM. The price is still showing $24.95 on the website. Does it scan at that price on checkout?

    • Hi there, may i know how did you get it half price? Did you get it from The store?
      Thanks

  • +1

    Thank you, purchased one.

  • no CC near me and delivery kills it, so will be $10 ones from kmart ….

    • +1

      Still a competitive price - RRP is $50 and no-one else is selling it near the $12-$13 it will cost with shipping.

    • +1

      How much is delivery for you?

      Delivery was $5 for where I live, and the kmart one seemed to be only $1 or so cheaper and I paid for delivery.

  • Just bought one. Wonder how accurate it is… reviews seem okay though!

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Got one, C&C at Bundall.

  • Anyone already own one? Does it round to the gram or 5 gram increment?

    • +1

      Rounds to the gram, i.e. it can weigh a 3 gram and 7 gram item.

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks :)

  • +1

    Got one. Thanks +++

  • Sold out already?

  • I think it’s gone.

  • OzBee'd!

  • Kind of annoying, ordered one this morning for C&C, they took the order and charged my CC but are now saying they don't have stock.

    • I opted for shipping as I couldn't be stuffed going further than my local store for the sake of $5 shipping. Was marked as shipped within an hour of placing the order.

    • Good deals don't often go well with C&C. It might be in stock at 10am when you order it online, but someone might have walked in store and picked it off the shelf at 10.01am.

      • Agreed - deals that go live overnight are often okay as the early staff 'should' remove floor stock to fulfill the online orders before the doors open that day.

        Deals that hit during business hours are definitely impacted by 'C&C-lag-syndrome'.

  • +1

    I ordered one to be delivered. Just got an email stating they ran out of stock, so refunded me and gave $20 credit.

  • +1

    Got a cancellation email last night with a $20 voucher attached, will order something else instead. Ideal :)

  • +4

    I got a cancellation email last night with a $20 voucher attached and a refund as well, except I also received the scales on Monday.
