Bear Escape Compound Bow $899.95 + Free Shipping (Was $1,199.95) @ Apex Hunting

1532

The Escape is Bear's 2016 flagship model and its claim to fame is blazing fast speed.

Coming in with an IBO of 350 FPS isn't the only reason to shoot an Escape but it's definitely a major plus.

With a riser made of strong 7075 aluminium, the Escape weighs in at only 4 pounds, making it super rigid and incredibly tough.

The H-15 Hybrid cam generates a ton of energy, all while being smooth to draw and very easy to let down.

At 32 inches axle to axle, the Escape isn't too short that it won't perform but not too long in a close quarters hunting situation.

With a 6" brace height the Escape hammers in performance but still feels forgiving due to the H-15 Hybrid adjustable cam system.

15 pounds of draw weight adjustability is a great feature, allowing for supreme tunability.

Dual string suppressors and rubber vibration dampeners installed into the riser make the Escape super quiet with almost no hand shock after the shot.

The Bear Escape, engineered with intenseness and the ability to deliver an arrow accurately at 350 fps.

It comes in RealTree Xtra Green camo, Shadow Black, Sand and Olive.

One of the new 2016 Bear models, the Escape is a high end hunting bow that will set the standard.

Thanks OP, this will go well with the Rifle, Glock, Optic Red dot sight and hunter knife that I bought from here in the last 2 days.

Do you need a licence to own this bow?

    • +2

no, we own 3 bows but use for target shooting ….Usually order mine form usa or buy used from archery forums

      • I'm too worried about cracked limbs to buy second hand.

      • +4

Just got into target shooting but yet to buy a bow. What forums have good deals for used?

      • "archery forums" - seems like an appropriate site to post bow deals.

        • +14

          Or a deal site…

    • +12

      No license required for bows.

      Permits required for crossbows.

      • WOW!

      • Huh. Thought crossbows were outright banned - maybe it varies state-to-state?

        • Yes, it's a prohibited weapon in Victoria but legal in S.A. Not sure about the other states.

        • @Elderlymango:

          Legal in SA

You sure about that? I was looking into it a few months ago and found fairly conclusively that they were a banned weapon.

        • +1

          @The Gent: https://www.police.sa.gov.au/services-and-events/firearms-an…

Based on the above page on sapol, both full size and pistol crossbows are now prohibited.

Compound bows are fine to possess. You can only fire them at archery ranges, private property (so long as arrows do not leave the property), and in certain parts of the Murray lands you may partake in bow fishing.

        • @DangerNoodle: That was my understanding, but perhaps Elderly has some loophole he uses…?

        • +1

@The Gent: I'm a rep in the hunting industry and travel to S.A sometimes, very possible it's been banned since my last visit.

        • +1

@DangerNoodle: Not a legal opinion: it is up to people to look up the law or contact a local archery club themselves…

A person is an exempt person for the purposes of an offence of use or possession of a
prohibited weapon under section 21F(1)(b) of this Act if the person uses or has
possession of a prohibited weapon in the course of participating in a lawful and
recognised form of recreation or sport that reasonably requires the use or possession of
          the weapon.

      • Crossbows are legal in the NT :)

        • +11

Well, you can't be a nanny state if you are not a real state. :D

        • @tshow: Hey-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

    • +7

You forgot the 45 long slide with laser sighting, phase plasma rifle in 40-watt range and the Uzi 9mm.

      • +3

Model 101, living tissue over metal endoskeleton.

    • +8

Now all we need is the Flick knife, Butterfly knife, Throwing stars, Brass knuckles, Ninja Sword, Nunchukas, Slingshot, Taser, Mace and Telescopic Baton posts and we'll almost have the full set!

    • Hahahahahahahahaha I dieeeed haha!

  • +37

    Not a firearm

    Still a troll.

    • +8

Three comments on the firearm debate from OP plus this deal does make it appear so. I think it is a good deal but wonder if it would have been posted by OP had the other debate not have occurred.

    • +8

      Not a firearm.

      Still a bargain.

    • +9

      Obvious troll is obvious.

      • +9

Is it a bargain? If yes, then it belongs on this site.

Who are you to tell other people how they should spend their hard earned money or spare time?

        • -6

Oh please, you would have never posted this if it weren't for the other recently submitted weapon deals.

        • +3

          @Lorindor: Why not?

        • -5

          @choodi:

You clearly have no interest in items like these and only did it for the entertainment, which you succeeded at doing - but at what cost?

        • +6

@Lorindor: What are you talking about? I am a hunter, I have plenty of interest in this type of product.

        • +5

          @Lorindor: $899.95

        • +1

@derpdeder: I knew at least one person was going to make that joke.

See, this is what I mean, OzBargain is way too predictable, be original people! It's the only thing we have left as humans, yet people take it for granted.

        • @Lorindor: Sorry. You'll have to help me understand how this deal costs more than $899.95.

    • +10

This is an obvious attempt to further divide the ozbargain community. If the deal was posted in good faith it should stay but as this clearly wasn't mods should step in or they are ultimately endorsing this behaviour. My opinion.

      • +4

Pretty weak community if a really good bow deal can tear it apart. Your assumptions don't mean much since you have zero evidence. Gooooosefrabbbbaaaaa

  • +3

    Isn't that 25% off?

    • +5

      (1 - 899.95/1199.95) * 100 = 25.00104171007

The maths backs up your claims.

      • +2

Sorry, copy and paste from the page. I thought I changed it after posting. I'll edit.

EDIT: turns out I did change it, but a mod changed it back.

  • +10

Compound bows are like mobile phones. New flagships every year.

For a 2 year old flagship, this price isn't great.

    • +1

yep, new models every couple of years, they don’t change much but if new to the sport used is always a good option until you know what size you need.

if you are new to the sport you need to get a bow that fits , if you are already in the sport then you will have an idea already of what you want and cut a deal with retailer or be importing from usa.

can’t see people buying this on an impulse and going down to the local archery club for lesssons.

      • +1

I YouTube learn in the backyard. :)

        • you would need one hell of a backyard ….. obviously not urban melbourne or sydney …… at the local range people shoot targets from 60m ….. and even then you need distance behind that for the noobs that missed.

backyard would need to be farm

        • +1

All fun and games until you let one loose over the fence and kill your neighbours dog.

        • hours of fun for the whole family

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cncKzAr-jis&t=113

        • @garage sale:
I always have at least 3 inches of wooden planks to back the target.

After a while, even block targets go soft neat the bullseye. I've shot through a crossbow block target with a 70lb compound and nearly took out a cow.

  • +17

I swear he only posted this for trolls and more controversy because of yesterday fire arm banned 😅

    • +46

      Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.

      Either way, it's a bargain.

    • +5

      They drew First Blood

  • +6

    No bluetooth no deal

    • +11

I'll check the Xiaomi website, maybe they have a new model coming soon.

    • you need to buy the dongle attachment

    • aim at your tooth and release. instance bluetooth.

    • But it has Band 28

  • +1

Time to find a bear that has escaped.

    • Drop bears.

  • +2

    B28?

  • +2

Can we please ban posts about Bows? Clearly a tool of mass murder. The incels are rising up.

    • +1

      Still a bargain

    • Mass murder, a bow hmm ….. these things are 45lbs to pull back, and you'd have to aim, and load an arrow , and then actually be good enough to hit something and try and hide it as you get to your location of choice …. weapon of choice for mass killings seems to be cars and vans at the moment … and in custody you say you had a bad childhood, came from an ethnic background, had a self or undiagnosed mental illness, were influenced by meth, pot or booze they might even reduce your sentence as it wasn't premeditated.

The 2016 Bear Escape Compound Bow seems to be cheaper shipped from the US. Under AU$830.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-2016-Bear-Archery-Escape-70-…

I didn't even search anywhere but eBay.

    • -8

Yeah, but who wants to deal with shipping from the US…or eBay shudder.

      • +2

Well, I often purchase items shipped from the US and I do use eBay. That being said, my adding was a little off. Less than $870.

I'll gladly find a lower shipped price if anyone's interested.

        • +1

Mods removed my neg for finding a cheaper post. Wonder how long before they remove yours. Choodi is clearly trolling with this post but whatevs

        • @slimdavy5: Your so-called "deal" actually ended up costing more when shipping was included. Stop complaining. Mods removed your neg because it was invalid.

      • Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. Either way, it's a bargain.

That was one of your comments about your post. Either it's a bargain or it isn't….doesn't matter where you get it from. If it is cheaper elsewhere then it is a better bargain.

    • even better deals if you search ebay.com/ and ask them to ship USPS ….

    • Warranty.

This is no different to comparing local stock to grey import.

  • +17

This is a massive troll post. People are taking the piss now with this stuff.

You are being trolled hard OzB!

    • +4

      You don't say?

    • +3

      It's a bargain. End of.

Don't like it, then go somewhere else.

      • +5

        lol, so mad!

      • +4

        Get a life dude

    • +9

How is it trolling? Item is legit, legal and a bargain

      • -2

        He’s trolling.

        • +4

          I'm OzBargaining.

        • +7

You're making negative accusations born out of a personal dislike of a legitimate post. Pretty sure that makes you a troll.

        • +10

          I'm interested.
Archery is a sport. Check out Field Archery, great family friendly fun. It's like golf but without the silly clothes :p

        • -2

@Joey Jo Jo: I couldn’t care less about a crossbow deal but he’s trolling to see if it gets banned like firearms. I’ve been on OzB a while and within a week we’ve seen sniper scopes, pistols and other firearms which are now banned. Then the next day a crossbow. That’s not a coincidence, that’s a troll.

Are you new to the internet?

        • +4

          @Skramit:

I’ve been on OzB a while and within a week we’ve seen sniper scopes, pistols and other firearms which are now banned. Then the next day a crossbow. That’s not a coincidence, that’s a troll.

Unfortunately you have very little understanding of these things you complain about. Compound bows and crossbow are very different. No'sniper scopes' have been posted either.

Are you new to the internet?

Perhaps you could use the internet to educate yourself. Happy to provide some links if your having trouble?

        • -2

@OzBragain: nah I’m ok. Thanks for trolling some more.

        • +2

@Skramit: ‘Sniper scopes’ ‘Crossbow’ ^^^ This Guy. Either a troll or has zero knowledge on the subject matter. Obviously not a deal you are interested in so keep scrolling.

        • @Quarn:
          You are gravely mistaken.

There are dudes that rock up to target ranges in camo.

Or go hunting in Australian shrubbery in alpine camo.

        • @choodi:

Yeah, but who wants to deal with shipping from the US…or eBay shudder.

An ozbargainer doesn't flounder at having to buy from the US or having to use ebay

        • @Skramit:

So your logic somehow translates me pointing out your statement as incorrect in that no crossbows or 'sniper scopes' have been posted as trolling.

Or is it the suggestion that as you obviously have minimal exposure to and/or knowledge of these items that the internet might be a good start for you to learn some more.

Either way it's not hard for anyone to work out who's trolling here :)

    • 1212 clicks so far shows there are a few people interested.

      • +3

        Are you really that daft?

All it shows is school has finished and there are plenty of children wanting to jump on the wagon.

      • +1

call and see how many they sold….did that with one of the gun posts a while back….nil zip, they actually laughed when I told them why

        • +2

The process to get approval to buy a gun takes quite a while. You can't just see a bargain for a gun and then buy it immediately.

You need to fill out a permission to acquire form and submit it to your local police who will then decide if you are allowed to buy the gun, once approved, you have to take that to the dealer and you will be able to buy it.

        • @choodi:
          I have a gun licence, I know.

This was a general chat. They didn't get a surge of enquiries or anything. They laughed when I told them why I was asking and that so many people had shown 'an interest' in buying the advertised item.

Lots of wannabe armchair internet warriors whose greatest attempt to owning a firearm is posting a comment or an upvote on this forum.

    • -2

I don't mind this deal - Bows are a perfectly justifiable hunting/recreational tool.

I do take issue that my posting a bargain here for a 100% free, no-stings-attached and legitimate PDF version of "Over Our Dead Bodies:Port Arthur and Australia's fight for gun control" was removed for trolling.

But there ya go, politics divides and all - there's bias in everyone, even the lovely mods here at OzBargain who do a decent job for the most part.

      • OzB is definitely a leftie paradise. But those deals are too good to let it bother me.

        • +1

Well, the internet is one giant safe space.

Can't really get kicked in the nads online.

        • @tshow:

          Lol, this is true.

      • Your pdf was not a genuine bargain though. Otherwise we might as well post every open access book on Usyd like you?

        • Free instead of $22 is a pretty decent bargain and that wasn't the reason for deletion - the reason was trolling you snowflakes.

This post is more of a troll as it's not even that good a bargain. $22 to free is.

    • +1

I don't think it's a good deal if eBay has it cheaper.
      https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/New-2016-Bear-Archery-Escape-55-70…

      $700

      • Sure, if hyou don't mind waiting up to a month to get it and you don't want a local warranty or the ability to return it if it's defective.
