      No it's a strategy that a lot of pharmacies use in the hopes that you'll come into the store and spend money on other purchases. They lose money on Panamax at this price but they hope to make it back in add-on sales.

    Made in India? Lots of these cheap meds are but I've them tried and noticed no difference from the locally produced Panadol etc.

        I googled Panamax and found description for "Panamax Co" which is paracetamol+codeine phosphate. I then realized it's a different product.

          Any product containing codeine has been classified as "Schedule 3" since last May. This means you can only get it by speaking directly to the pharmacist.
          Also, the pharmacist can only give you a maximum supply equal to five days worth, by law.

    got my hopes up , i have 2 chemist warehouses near me. so was ready to stock up on them at that price , but nope both stores didn't have them at that price , only $1.89

      You could always just get them to pricematch their own stores. Usually when I ask for a price match/beat, which is pretty rare considering they usually are cheaper, they're more than happy to do so.

      Why? People that abuse it will pay 40c or $1.90. For those though that use it responsibly it keeps our costs much lower so I am not complaining!

          Some people might not be able to afford paying a lot for healthcare and medication. When struggling financially, they might rather spend the money on food than medication, even if they're really ill.
