Curious, what's the issue with the staff? I've always found them pretty good.

    • Just a poor customer service experience. Have taken my money elsewhere, no point going into the specifics.

      • +2

Friend, please elaborate. They're usually pretty nice people.

I ordered my A73 start of June and still haven't got it for reference.

    • Do you mean from the same store?

The price is not good, The cheapest price is AUD 2300.So I'll wait..

    • +1

Hi, where did you see this price? Might have to wait myself for this price.

      • +1

Cheapest was 2500 with ebay 20% off

        • That would be handy. Been following the camera for a while and just waiting for a good price to pull the trigger. To you recall the eBay store it was from my any chance?

        • @gwapsejnr: ryda

  • What would be the suggested lens to go with this camera?

    • +2

      Depends on your budget.

You can't go wrong with FE55/1.8 ZA though.

    • I'm eyeing the 24-70mm G Master but that costs about the same as the camera.

      • +1

You can choose 28-75 F/2.8, which is much cheaper than 24-70GM, but the quality is almost the same.

    • The suggested lens is the one suited to what you're shooting.

      WHat are you shooting?

      • Birds

      • Will be for every day use, parties, holidays etc.
Something that covers all areas really.. don’t want to be swapping lens out..

        • -1

16-70mm or 18-135 if you want more range

        • @cdaddy: Those lenses you suggested are for APSC sensors, they will have a heavy crop on the A7 III; the images will end up being around 10 megapixels. The Sony 24-105mm F/4 is a better suggestion if you don't want to swap lenses.

Tamron's has a new e-mount 28-75 f/2.8 which seems to be getting good reviews,
especially when you compare the price to the G Master 24-70

      • Yep I own one with the a7III great lens but also had to wait a month as sold out!

  • -1

How dodgy, they only give a cheap Tamron lens with lens package

  • I spent a bit of time last weekend chasing a good price for this camera and the Sony 24-70 F2.8 GM and the best price I managed was $5300 for both which I'm still not 100% happy with. <5k was the goal… Anybody able to find a better price for the two?

Have also been debating going the Tamron to save money as the reviews seem positive but I'm not super keen to lose that extra 4mm.

    • I'm also in the same boat. I'm wondering if between the Sony GM and the Tamron which would be the better investment in the long run as I start taking up event/wedding photography jobs. Right now i do landscape for fun so i'm thinking i could maybe go with the tamron plus an ultra wide zoom or prime. Im thinking losing the 4mm on the wide end matters less for the paying jobs.

  • After contacting them in regards to their stock levels, they are out of stock.

'At present we do not have stock of either products, as it is in very high demand. We currently have an ETA for the Sony A7 III Body for end of September. What we suggest to lock in your place in our queue and our current promotional price is to make full payment which is refundable if you manage to find it somewhere else. We currently have 40+ backorders for the Sony A7III body.

    • Got pretty much the same response when they responded to my query as well.

These guys are pretty much taking orders with no guaranteed date of fullfillment. I am a little doubtful that they will get enough bodies to fill the 40+ orders come end of Sept.

      • Yeah pretty disappointing, they should have it very clearly written 'No Stock' and an ETA on their website.

        • +2

They just want people to order so they can make some interest off the deposits. Sneaky move.

  • +1

Well I asked yesterday as it looks like if you want to wait until next year then place your orders. I'm pretty sure you'll find other deals in that period.

  • My friend is a sony rep told me November is more likely stock issues world wide
