Interesting tidbit: Supermarkets study the demographics of the regions stores are located in and adjust both stock and staffing levels for cultural festivals.

explains why my nearest woolworths has half a single shelf of "health food" and an entire aisle for "HSV/Fordl" merchandise

Can that be accusedof ethnic profiling?

Yeah mate, white people are the biggest victims to profiling and stereotypes in supermarkets! /s

Coles isn't accusing its local customers of a crime, they're specifically going out of their way to cater for them.

Lol gives entire isles dedicated to certain demographs but gives Australian Farmers a war on milk and contributes to an increase in farmers going bankrupt during a drought.

        Absolutely terrible.

        • Coles give their aisles to whatever gets the $$$ in for them.

    • Like Ramadan Cities

    • I'm curious where these stats are taken from where you can find either ethnicity or religious persuasion?

Mind you, I have seen a Happy Ramadan banner at Dandenong Coles. Would they also do something similar for Hanukkah in Caulfield/McKinnon?

every December my local coles has a Merry Christmas banner.

I'm sorry to tell you Altomic… Father Christmas is not real.

Dandenong (Statistical Area Level 3) suggests 10% Muslim is above the threshold for a 'Happy Ramadan' brochure.

        • Thanks. That's what I was looking for.

  • Is that Indian fondue burner?

  • Same in both stores in Pakenham, VIC

Taj Basmati Rice 9.99 $ and Amul Ghee 9.99 $ if anyone interested.

  • couldnt find these in any stores near me, [VIC]
