(Resolved) YouFoolz Gave Me The YouShaft

Gday

So with the recent YouFoodz deals, it appears they massively overpromised and underdelivered. I noticed a few other ppl had errors in their orders but here is my situation in particular:

Ordered the 7 for $40 meals on 14 November. No issue there. Think i even got an email saying "your lunches are sorted for the week!" from them (irony will become apparent in a tic). Anyway meals were delivered today, noon, 16 November. Now, all 7 meals expire 18 November.

This is obviously completely unacceptable and evidence they didn't have stock for the demand with their recent deals. I have attempted contacting them for a potential remedy but given what others have already posted about their lame offers of discounts/coupons/credit etc i hold out little hope for anything satisfactory.

So my q to u, my fellow ozbarganeers, is what ought one do in this situation with an unsatisfactory offer? Credit card charge back? What other alternatives are there?

Thanks in advance!

Bloody yanks and their backwards dates!!

I don't understand how that can happen. I can understand if an Australian was reading a date with the year first (so year month day) and thought it was the 18th November, without looking at the last number. But an American wouldn't fall for that unless the date was written month-year-day??

Might want to update the OP with the resolution for clarity.

I think you should still give them the benefit of the doubt and raise a ticket, stating what you’ve stated above and see about their response - I’m only making the assumption that you haven’t concretely contacted then cause you mentioned you attempted to, rather than actually contacted.

If it is in line with what others have experienced, I’d be seeking compensation from your CC or otherwise via PayPal. Document your items is what I would primarily suggest: It’s unreasonable for 7 meals which are obviously delivered for the purpose of being eaten over the course of a 7 day period to expire within two.

Try to be reasonable first, but if their hands are tied I’d suggest pushing for compensation via your CC :)

Thanks, yeah. I mean i emailed them immediately and of course in the first instance will hope for a satisfactory remedy from them. But im just not entirely hopeful so im pre-empting that if there is no satisfactory cure offered, what would next step be. I just base that pre-emption on what others have said they have been offered.

So, they gave you what you ordered, just not spread out? I'd chuck all but 1-2 of the meals in the freezer, pull them out the night before you want to use them. I wouldn't bother with a chargeback, just wouldn't order from them in the future.

  • Maybe they're aware of how everyone needs to eat 2 of their meals to get full.

Jokes aside, I think the short expiry is pretty shitty and might even be illegal if it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

If they’re selling short dated food, they probably are carrying too much stock rather than too little. Perhaps they over-estimated demand. Good luck though OP

Thus the deal to clear out the old stock.

  • Freeze them, sell them to a colleague, then don't order again

Giving you all-short-dated product is poor and needs to be highlighted. Hopefully a pick/pack oversight.

YF support staff have been pleasant to deal with..I'd avoid the CC charge back unless their response to you is unreasonable.

Do you plan to ever use them again ? if not do a charge back, basically giving you 7 days worth of food with 2 days expiry is not satisfactory. I would do a charge back if that happened to me.

  • I got meals yesterday, expiry are between 21st and 23rd which is fine, would prefer a consistent date as meals are meant to be fresh.

    I’d ask for refund

Take a photo of all the meal expiry dates
Send them an email with your legit complaint
    Stick em in da freezer
    Enjoy
    They not crooks
They’ll apologise and it’ll all be good
