FYI, I think these can also be consumed by humans. I ate them and didn’t feel sick.

I ate them and didn’t feel sick.

You should try them with moose… Mmmmm !!!

    • +9

I ate them as well. Afterward I couldn't stop scratching my head on the nearest tree and pissing on bracken.

      • +1

        What was the beforehand situation?

        • That I should have gone for the lichens.

    • +8

Ironically, enough of them would make a reindeer sick, as they are ruminants, normally eating lichen and grass.

      • +6

        That you Sheldon?

      • +1

Reindeers don't eat anything lichen-ough carrots for that to happen..

      • +8

Reindeer only eat carrots on Christmas Eve so they can see better in the dark. One or two carrots between house calls wouldn’t make them sick but may make their coats turn orange.

        • +7

It can also cause severe inflammation of the nasal structures.
In one case study, the vet reported it almost appeared to glow.

      Snow is better

      • There's a deal for snow atm?

@D6C1: I heard Santa recently acquired a BMW sleigh?

    • +1

      Targeted?

    Carrots for dads.

    • +2

      Leave beer too.

    • Carrots for dads.

      To do what with them?

    • Are they wrong, though??

Aren't these carrots always $1. And they taste of nothing.

Don't get me wrong, I buy them. But every crunch, I'm dreaming of the GORGEOUS ones M&D grew in our petty suburban GARDEN, back in the day.

Packaging doesn't specifically say these aren't made of reindeer meat, misleading me into thinking this was an excellent lean meat deal. Can I get a refund and report them to the ACCC?

    • No, RSPCA.

  • What is the usual price?

  • +8

Needlessly lying to children is a great way to build trust!!

    • +9

Living up to your name there Scrooge!

    • That's what I've always thought… I think good parenting means that you can make Christmas a magical time for your child without telling them made up… I can't see it being for anything other than the parents satisfaction which is kinda weird

  • +1

is it bad, if I'm going to juice them and drink it?

    • +9

It would be worse if you juiced them and didn't drink it.

      • +8

It would be even worse if you didn't juice them and drank them.

        • -1

In that case it would be lot worse if I didn't buy them to juice and drink it!

    • not if your kids asked you to buy them, you can then juice them and tell them the reindeers ate them.

      • +2

        Juice the kids?

        • +2

You can get jailed for that

        • Juice the house. Juice the car. Juice the kids.

  • They prefer Chernobyl lichen.

    • +1

I visited Chernobyl in 2016 (it's a hot tourist destination, pun intended) and the lichen was one of the most radioactive things there. Cesium sponge. Was fun to measure.

  • +3

Roast these in the oven at 300C (280C fan) for four hours for the perfect Christmas gift for your naughty children :)

    • +1

My mum did go on about the lump of coal and a birch twig thrashing for Christmas.

  • Well, if it makes it easier to get kids to shop with you then that is a good thing, and I guess you can say the carrots you served with dinner are the ones the reindeers didn't eat.

At least Woolies does offer free fruit for kids so I don't have an issue with them using kids to hassle parents to buy carrots.

  • +2

I saw these in my local a few weeks back. Was a little confused as to their purpose as the best before date was 14th dec?

  • -3

    Are these vegan friendly?

    • +2

Yes, they're both narrow and tapered.

  • What part of the reindeer is this?

  • +1

Caution, consuming these can make your nose glow red.

  • These carrots will be for me, not those filthy reindeer

    Are these organic?
