I wonder if there will be a post for this burger minus the meat patty?

    • +12

I'll add it to title and save them the trouble :)

        Efficient.

        • Now removed from title by mods as dupe.

    Free bread essentially!

    • +1

      *Thawed bread

      • Actually Maccas buns are shipped fresh.

Only in Tasmania are they frozen and then thawed.

        • They don't have bakeries in Tasmania.

          The More You Know

  • How much for a half pounder?

    • That's the double quarter pounder, about $8 on the menu.

    • ireadtermsofuse

      Normally 4.25 I believe.

      2.00 for deal + 2.25 for another meat patty = 4.25

Had the quarter pounder the other day and was the same size as a cheeseburger. Can't believe they charge $6 for it.

    • +2

Man comments like this make me unreasonably annoyed. Have you ever had a cheeseburger?

I mean sure quarter pounders are small - that's one issue, but they have 2.5x the meat of a cheeseburger

      • +3

No way its 2.5x, just had it yesterday. Its more 1.5-2x.

        • I would say its around 2.0-2.5 x

10:1 is the most popular meat. It is used in items such as Big Macs, Cheeseburgers and any variant of the two (ie McDouble, Double Cheeseburger, Mega Mac, Double Beef n Bacon). It is named 10:1 as it is a 10th of a pound. They take roughly 40 seconds to cook a batch of eight.

4:1 is used in Quarter Pounders, McFeasts and any variant of those. It is named 4:1 because it is ¼th of a pound. Hence the burger being called a Quarter Pounder. They take roughly 104 seconds to cook a batch of six.

Must be years since you've had McDonald's prior to that. I remember when the bun for the quarter pounder sat flush with or maybe over hung the beef patty by a couple mil like 15 years ago but yeah nah mate same size as a cheese burger? Turn it up bro

      • I always remember them being bigger, but supposedly the quarter pounder beef pattie still weighs a quarter pound and then supposedly they even increased the weight of it a little bit.

  • +3

hey guy did you know you can get a free bread, cheese, pickles, onions ketchup and mustard burger by removing the beef patty!?
It's a great lunch for vegetarians!

Isn't $2 big mac today too?

    • +2

      Not anymore

Getting bombarded with daily notifications from the mcdonalds app, had to turn notifications off.

  • Never tried Quarter Pounder … does it taste exactly like CheeseBurger?

    • i believe the patty has a higher fat content, so it is tastier and less dry.

      • hmm,.. i see,..what about the sauce and other ingredients? might give it a try later today ^.^

        • +1

quarter pounder uses fresh onions instead of dehydrated onions and the bun is bigger (probably no taste difference). i think they are the only other differences.

  • can I get a few and put them in the freezer?

    • +1

Not sure how well these would defrost. Can you freeze cheese?

      • Yes you can.

    • depends on how much you hate yourself

    • +1

No need, keep on kitchen bench and will still be fine for months ;)

  • does anyone if you can order more than 1?

    • +1

apparently if you have the code on your phone you can use two kiosks at once in store.
Apply code to one kiosk but don't complete the order yet, refresh your phone app and apparently get another code and apply that at a second kiosk, then finish your orders on both kiosks - potentially you could rock more than two kiosks wit this method.

      Have a look at his post which suggests the above method works;

  • looks like im having a small cheeseburger meal and a quarterpounder for lunch today $5

    • nah bro, add a quaterpounder patty to the quarter pounder ( its normally 4.25 total if you use the $2 code) :D

  • I tried to use this deal, but been told it is not on. What ever you have in your rewards folder in the app, you could only get that one, which is $1 cheese burger.

    • Did you notice that this deal expired at midnight?
