  • My Asko just popped yesterday, this is timely. Not sure how it compares though

    • +2

Your ASKO was a POS with poor reliability as you found. Miele and Bosch are the too top ranking both performance and reliability wise in Choice reviews and surveys.

      • Well that depends - old Askos are phenomenal. But alas my old Asko is also, finally, on its last legs.

        • Old Askos also performed poorly in choice reviews with scores generally around middle of the range. Whilst they were better they were still a long way from Miele quality and customer satisfaction.

We have a Miele dishwasher that is nearly 25 years old and it cleans as good as it did when new.

    • Consider Miele or Bosch serie 6 onwards.

  • Thinking of replacing my F&P dishdrawer too, but no dishdrawer available :(

PSA: check your nearest Miele Clearance Centre before buying those things https://www.miele.com.au/domestic/unboxed-outlet-3026.htm

I managed to get the last gen dishwasher at half price (with a small dint)

    • Nice one, how much do you pay this unit? which model? Thanks

    • Only in major cities but looks good. The model that opens door automatically is good at drying the dishes apparently. It's about $2100 retail.

    • How are you finding the miele?

  • In a parallel world, TGG is "The Bad Girls", just saying….

If you don't want a separate cutlery drawer, or prefer a basket, the SMS66JI01A is very similar but cheaper (and still made in Germany).

I got the Bosch SMS66JI01A Freestanding SS Dishwasher - $766(C&C)
Seems the only difference is this model doesnt have the cutlery rack.

  • How about Bosch SMS40E08AU - $519.20
Pretty basic features, but if cleaning performance is on par with the rest, it's a cheaper alternative

    • What's the difference apart from the cutlery drawer ?

      • The inside base of the Series 4 is plastic - which in the long run may not last as well as steel (series 6 & 8) if you run hot wash cycles

  • +1

So hard to tell the difference between some of these models. Serie 4 is made in Turkey. Serie 6 onwards is made in Germany. The Cutlery drawer is so awesome though. I have this model and it washes so well.

  • Damn I need to buy a new dishwasher as of today and this has gone back up in price !!!!! ;(

Anyone know if someone else has it on sale?
