    • if only..

thanks to Macquarie Bank monopoly of sydney airport

  • WooHoo
$1150 for 4 of us to KL return to Perth .
    Flights there were $0 +taxs/fees
    Flights back were $77 +taxe/fees
picked seats added some baggage!! and a few meals .
not free but I no complain :)

  • great deal, just got two return tickets for $400 total !!

    • Don't know how….?
I might need to book a couple more ticket. Can you let me know how you got them so cheap. I can only find cheapest $308 one person.

      • Did you select travel between 2 November 2008 - 30 April 2009? Some dates are still available for free tix. Just booked mine on 15th Jan 2009 / 8 Feb 2009. Total ~$220 return. Absolute steal for a holiday!

  • I could only find ones with taxes included… they advertised $AU dollars included taxes though :(
Managed to find a date with $0.00 fare - total for two adults. Including International food, luggage and comfort kit, and seat choice - $616.00 TOTAL FOR TWO……. still damn cheap.
Now off to find some accomodation……. any recommendations?

  • Got on at 12:00am, 2 people, paid about $180 per person return from Perth. Incredible.

www.wotif.com Their mystery hotels are quite cheap
We used both and they were very good . When we landed at Singapore I couldn't find our printout for accomodation so we used the free internet at the airport . Quickly found the local WOTIF number and got straight through and spoke to helpful friendly staff .
we stayed at the park royal in KL last time . pretty average for a 5 star hotel .
If you go to Phuket I can highly recommend the Karon Beach Centara Resort (theres 3 centara resorts in Phuket). We stayed in the deluxe seaview rooms for about $80 a night . Rated at 4 star but worth 5 IMHO .
I'll be getting tickets to Thailand or vietnam from KL for our family holiday .
KL IMHO is not the greatest place to holiday , The people are very unfriendly compared to thai people .

  • This wasn't on adioso earlier this morning, but has appeared now. You can see which days still have the cheap outbound/return flights left. There's barely any $0 + tax ones left, but still plenty of cheap ($77 + tax = $199) options, see:

    http://www.adioso.com/search/perth-to-kuala-lumpur.html
    and back:
    http://www.adioso.com/search/kuala-lumpur-to-perth.html

On that note, KUL is a good hub for heaps of cheap flights to the rest of SE asia, you can see them.. ummm… here:

    http://www.adioso.com/cheapest/from/Kuala+Lumpur

    Phuket for $40!

Update: Looks like all the $0 ones have gone for the moment - Wow, that was quick! $199 is still not a bad option, though I guess you can get perth->singapore for ~$215 anyway (http://www.adioso.com/search/perth-to-singapore.html)

    • How accurate is Adioso? I can still find Perth - KL, 0 dollar fare(+$99 tax) on 2nd April 2009 in AirAsia website.

      • Yeah, it seems to lag behind when the fares sell-out/change really quickly (like they are now).

The $0 fares are back on Adioso (currently 12 days have them - see links above). It looks like AirAsia might be releasing new fares in batches as the others sell out.

  • oh .. just got my leave approved but not many 99 bucks flight left. None that within my dates.

  • I check on the term an conditions on this page http://www.airasia.com/site/au/en/page.jsp?reference=perth20…

-fares quoted do not include taxes and fees except fares quoted in Australia Dollar (AUD) are inclusive of taxes and fees

I tried to get the one for $77 bucks but on the next page it will shows additional taxes and fees. I thought according to the term all are inclusive?

Correct me if i am wrong.

    • The advertisement for Australian market must include tax and charges (according to Australian law), but when you go for the specific booking engine, it may not include tax and charges. Underneath the AUD77, you will find :"Fares exclude taxes and fees". Hence, if you want to get the 99 dollars fare, it should quote 0.00AUD.

This has been practiced in many Australian website such as Tiger Airways.

      • I actually had taxes and charges for a flight coming in at only about $80. Not sure how that happened.

        • Is the tax for KL-Perth? Airport tax from KL is usually cheaper. If you combine both tax outbound perth and inbound, it works out $99+$83=$182, hence the return price quoted.

  • I just booked KL to Bangkok for 5 adults for $140 TOTAL each person.
So now 5 of us going to KL - BAN -KL - PERTH
    2 tickets for $616
    1 ticket for $443
    2 tickets for $802
depended on time you booked, availability, what you selected etc.,
I'm happy with those totals…… i got quoted over $3000 (for TWO people) for a split holiday by flight centre!!

  • does anybody know if you can edit your ticket to include a larger baggage allowance or purchase a meal ?

    • Yes you can. When you are entering details after you have selected your fares, you are given the option of: luggage and luggage upsize, meals, comfort kits, and choice of seats.

If you want to alter your options later, you can do that simply from "Check and Change" in the lefthand side frame in the airasia.com website.

      Hope that helps.

  • sorry meant to say after you bought the ticket can you change.

I did try the 'check and change' button but it only allows flight change or new seat allocation, couldnt find an option to add more baggage or add a meal.

    • I think you may need to contact them about the addition. I think I read somewhere, you can add them as long as it is 24-48 hours before the flight departure. Australian number : 1300 760 330.
