I think I'm at the point where I just have the buy the exact same shirts as I already have and throw the old ones out. Not much selection.

    • +1

Amen to that. I'm doing the same; I have 5 white shirts that I rotate through and I'll use them until they wear out, then purchase a new set every 2 years.

  • Thanks OP.

  • +2

Have purchased 10 or so shirts on the $40 deal just recently boo erns

Will get 10 more! Sorted for years.

  • I am yet to receive shirts I ordered on 30th June. The customer service is based in the UK which results in wired response such as this one after my second follow up:

I have emailed through to the Kings Street store and I am currently awaiting for a response.

Both myself and my colleague are currently chasing this for you, once I have received a response I will be back in contact to assist you further.”

Remember to use an international-transaction-fee-free credit card, as Tmlewin processes the credit card payment overseas.

    • +1

PayPal order just got charged in AUD, hopefully stays that way

      • Unfortunately you just got desecrated by the Paypal Currency Conversion rate my friend! :(

        • +6

Usually it would say that though, this says charged $120 AUD and that's what has been taken from my account..

      • It's not about the currency that's charged. It's about where the vendor is based. You'll get charged international transaction fees unless you have the right card.

        • +1

Yeah, I found this out the hard way when I purchased from ASOS. The purchase was in AUD but they are located in UK.

Took it up with my issuer (St. George) and they pointed me to the exact page in the PDS.

          • +1

@b-t: I also learned the hard way, but Qantas was kind enough to refund the fees.

    • yip. 28 degrees card is worth getting for this. no annual fee so it sits in the drawer till i buy online from overseas (and for o/s trips).

  • Thanks OP.

Ever since I found the Uniqlo super non iron shirts, I have not looked back, HIGHLY recommend for those after a plain white/blue/pink shirt, they're amazing

    • +2

Do they come in slim cuts?

      • +38

If you put on enough weight, any garment can be slim cut.

      • +1

The fit is slim yes, they're not parachute cut that's for sure!

        • +9

Would you go as far as saying they're tightm8?

          • @madak: I hope they aren't madak you. That made me laugh

      • I found their slim fit to be a potato sack. i was very disappointed and sold them on cheap.

        • Uniqlo fabric quality is too thin and the collars are not as nice

    • +4

      Same here,

One day three of us in the office wearing the same blue shirt from Uniqlo, quite funny.

      • +1

Do they all work in IT and/or OzBargainers by any chance? :D

        • Well on the same boat here, 3-4 of us always have a variant of it, all finance ppl in CBD. They're ~$50 so Ozbargainers generally stay clear of them, but totally worth the extra $20

        • +1

          😂 IT indeed

      • Is that 'funny'?

    • +2

Thanks for the heads up. Are they genuinely non iron? I have the TMs and find them to be "easy iron" rather than non iron.

      • +2

My Uniqlo shirts are always ‘easy iron’ after hanging up after a 1400rpm washing machine cycle. Never found truly iron-free shirts despite all claims! But I rate these shirts from Uniqlo. Haven’t looked back either.

        • +1

          Cheers 🙂

        • +1

Try a slower do in and hang them to try on coat hangers

      • Some of them seem to come out of the machine pretty good, but after enough washes it seems to wear off

        • Thank you 🙂

  • Thanks OP, was waiting for a sale on these. Ordered 3 non iron shirts

How does TM Lewin compare to Charles T in terms to Quality?

    • +2

Prefer C Twit myself - bit roomier for the larger frame and don't seem so sensitive on the skin. TML always seem a bit itchy

      • +3

Interesting. I prefer TM Lewin - when I put my hands up there’s no tension in the armpit area. With CT the cut is different.

This article compares them pretty well. I have both and they are both great value for money.

Thanks OP. For anyone mildly interested (that doesn't already know) …. OP here is THE ozbargain creator. Thank you sir.

    • SSHHHHH…

      • +1

don't tell Scotty, cos Scotty doesn't know

        • DON'T TELL SCOTTY!

        • It WAS 13 years ago, maybe he has forgotten by now. I don't recall what I did 13 days ago.

  • Thanks OP!!

  • +1

The first time I have found more than 3 work appropriate shirts in my size! Thanks OP for sharing.

I've had my 3 for about two years, worn each week, machine washed and air dried - they are still in near perfect condition.

    Definitely recommend.

  • -1

Postage was showing as free over $150 for me.

    • +1

Ignore this. The website stated that the order needed to be $150 but I can confirm the shipping costs were applied and then removed at checkout.

  • Great deal! Thanks OP! Bought 3 shirts!

  • Can returns be made in-store?

    • +1

      yes 30 days from purchase

    • Yes, but only if you pay with credit card directly, not if you go through Paypal.

  • This is a really good deal, their non-iron shirts are amazing just take them out of the dryer hang them up and done and ready save me like an hour of my sunday from ironing :p

  • +1

I've read a lot of Ozbargainers saying that some TM Lewin shirts are thin, translucent, would anyone know which shirts these are?

    Cheers.

Edit: Also would anybody be able to recommend a fit, I'm familiar with CT Shirts fitting but not TM Lewin, I take a 'extra slim fit' size from CT Shirts.

    • +1

If you're a "Extra Slim Fit" for CT shirts, try the "Fitted" size from TM. Lewin. I find they wrap the waist better and doesn't leave as much excess material.

      • Thanks DaDiesel! :)

        • Do these make me look good if am skinnyfat figure 0.0

  • +1

SCOTTY! Thank you very much. Just bought 10 shirts + a tie for good measure :)

    • What happened with the videos mate?

      • Hah! Which ones matey?!

        • YT. Been a while since you uploaded properly.

  • Has anyone had problems buying and using their ING account as payment? I get a message while processing it 'There was an error with your payment. No payment has been taken. Please try again or use an alternative card or payment method'.

    • No issues for me, but i used Paypal instead of using my ING card directly.

      • Thanks for advice. Didn't think of that. Took a few goes and then let me pay through Paypal ING.

    • I got an error when i clicked the pay pal payment button. Error message said to contact customer service team.

      • I got an error as well. Kept reloading shopping cart and going through process again. Eventually allowed me to go through to Paypal and completed transaction. Keep persisting and will eventually work.

    • Worked fine with ING for me, just with the card details no PayPal. Said "Your card is being protected by ING" before redirecting to the order successful page.

Article about non iron shirts which may interest some before purchasing. https://www.batchmens.com/blogs/batch-blog/non-iron-vs-forma…

  • Thanks Scotty

  • Nice:
    - scored 5 for $199 from CT a couple of weeks ago
    - just grabbed 3 of these to compare (westpac is 3% international fee, but for 93$ delivered, I'm happy

first shirt purchases in a couple of years :)

  • great deal - i bought 3 shirts for $40 each back in september - so obviously this is better.

    Non-Iron is a life changer.

    • how much iron is non-iron?
the CT's were iron free, but still need ironing

      • +1

I take mine out of the wash and lay them out indoors to dry over night, and in the morning I wear it without ironing. Any creases in it work themselves out by the time I get to work. I'm usually wearing a jacket over it when I do this so that probably helps.

you can iron them if you feel more comfortable leaving the house completely crease free, and they are a lot easier to iron than normal shirts - but i eventually figured that it's not necessary.

  • Please advise which fit would be equivalent to CT Extra Slim Fit?

  • Thanks scotty!

Now to look for the other garments to support my Wardrobe Refresh 2019 campaign.

Anyone seen any decent deals on suits, sports jacket or pants? :)

    • Campaign for new PM?

  • Will Cashback from Cash Reward apply with this code?

    • The code isn't listed on the CR site, so technically it shouldn't…however given that Trump and Boris are in power…I suppose anything is possible?

      • +1

Yes! My sale just tracked. Extra 8% savings..woohoo :)

  • Thanks OP. Got 2 shirts and tie.

  • I love TM Lewin for non iron work shirts but does anyone else wish they'd expand their prints and colours a bit more?

  • How do these compare to Van Heusen shirts ??

    • +7

      There is no comparison.

      • My thoughts exactly lol

      • +1

        Expand?

      • Mind clarifying on above?

How are these shirts in the summer months? I thought I read somewhere that since the company is based in London, the shirts are generally manufactured with thicker material. Also, how does the fitted shirts compare in size to super fitted?

    • Perfect even in Brisbane summers.

      • Thanks, could I ask if you wear non iron? Or which type of material? Not sure if I should go for twill l, herringbone or oxford for summer (only size available in my size for non iron)

        • Yes, exclusively non-iron. I've got all their different materials and all are comfortable for summer. I'm not sure if you're in to Charles Tyrwhitt shirts but I actually get hotter and sweat more in their Cool material range. It's lightweight but doesn't breathe anywhere near as well as twill, Herrington etc

    • I wear twill (both normal and non-iron) in summer and it's fine.

If you're concerned, get poplin (thiner) for summer and twill (thicker) for winter

    • Depends how much you sweat. For me it's too thick for syd summers even the poplin.

  • Doesn’t work for any women’s stuff 😔😢
