    That's actually pretty cool, but I don't think I need one :(

  • Will this lead to bushfire if used in the woods?

Only if something catches on fire and the bushes start burning.

you can also enjoy skewers and grilled grilled & skewered dumplings

    Yum, love grilled grilled.

  • Thats a very cool little grill but probably illegal in Australia , well at least not certified

Does it really only heat up to 20 to 25c? You'd be better off tucking your dinner in your armpit wouldn't you?

    • Between 20-25c room temperature, one bottle of gas can burn appox 90 mins by turning at max heat.

    • I think what it does is heat the gas bottle slightly so the grill burns hotter.

I think I bought this same brand last year in Japan. I used it in our background once, pretty decent but it was a pain to clean afterwards.

  • Iwatani is a very good japanese brand, quality products if you are ever in JP - I am surprised it's not around more in AUS.

Can't speak to this item though.

    • My dad has a working Iwatani gas burner from the late 70's (before I was born) and it's still going strong. Though as mentioned in this discussion, I'm not sure if it's certified! lol

I remember watching one of the Japanology NHK TV shows where they discussed the history of portable gas stoves - Iwatani seemed to be the pioneer of the modern consumer models.

Not a bad price for this particular CB-ABR-1 model, it can be had on Rakuten for about $100 AUD + EMS shipping (approx $70 to Sydney).

  • Sold out :( missed it

    • restocked

      • Thank you! Just bought one :)
