[VIC] Coopers 750mL Longnecks 24pk: Pale Ale $60.95, Sparkling Ale $64.95 @ Dan Murphy's - Online Only

751

Not sure if this is an error, but it's 4c cheaper in a 24 pack than their 12 pack. That's $2.54 per 750ml longneck.

The original and best independently owned, mass-produced pale ale around.

Excludes WA. 2 case limit applies.

i went to pick up and only got 12pk- they dont want to honor and told me to contact or call them online!
very diapointed! i expect a refund or another 12pk. deal is still online.

    • +1

wow really? that's terrible. I'll be asking for a refund when I go to collect if that's the case. No pun intended.

      • They ended up honouring mine with no fuss.

    • Did they not offer a refund then and there?

  • +3

Price error. When you go to check out, it mentions you’re just buying “1 case” at $60.99 (the 12 pack price) with a 4 cent discount.
They do not make these in cases of 24 AFAIK.

    • checker?

  • +2

Yeah I backed out from buying on checkout when I noticed that there was no mention of 24 bottles per case.

Sucks that they didn’t Honour it for you tho

    • +1

I took a screenshot. I'll push for the 24 and if they don't honour I'll take a refund.

      • Obviously an error, but do you think they will have to honor it if you have a screen shot?

        • +2

They don't have to honour unfortunately. They will just say to call support.

          • @adamshere: They don't, but they honoured mine with no fuss after I produced the screenshot.

  • +3

So many wrong prices of late, I’m sick of getting my hopes up. Good luck to those who buy.

  • seems normal $59.95 for 12 pack at the moment. Liquorland is $57 for a 12 pack of these

  • +2

On the one hand, it is obviously a price error as they don't come in 24 packs. But on the other hand, 4c off is not a valid special, so they should cop it for such a pathetic 'offer'.

  • Am l missing something? Nowhere do l see 24 bottles per case. It clearly states per case of 12. I rest my case!!!

    • +1

The red text below "Online Offer"

      • +3

Ah……… I get it now. Thought l was either too pissed or needed my eyes checked. This deal is Melbourne, not us Cane Toads up here.

    • the member offer says 24. then underneath normal price 4c more says 12.

    • +1

I'm with you, have a like.

  • +1

only 12 in a box of longnecks

  • Finally set up an account here I was so frustrated at this post.
My Dans says $60.95 per case of 24

    • $60.99 for case of 12

  • deal updated - Sparkling Ale $64.95 added - cheapest ever :)

That's what I bought, so I'll tell you in the morning how they deal with it. I'll push for the 24

      • +1

Ever deal with Dans when it's been a misprint?

        • No. What happens? Never honoured? I thought there was one here earlier this year or late last which was a similar kind of misprint and it was honoured

          • @Loracks: No idea. I'd like to get the sparkling, but don't want to hassle.
Seems like it's a genuine online deal when I look at it again

        • I had a price error recently with them. It was six-packs of Becks for $4.50 or something (they'd mixed up prices for 'packs' and 'singles') . This wasn't in a catalogue, just the online listing.

I screenshotted, ordered 4x 6-packs delivered, and through PayPal. They just sent 4 singles. So I disputed the transaction and they never responded so PayPal decided in my favour to refund. So if you screenshot the listing, make the order, and they don't send what you order, worst case scenario is probably some free beer.

@werdplaya58: Dan Murphy's in Coburg are being very nice about it and honouring, even though it's not their stuff up. I feel bad about it now. Online team stuffed up and sent an order (and money) to the store showing 12 bottles only.
Coburg probably has no bottles left now

            • +2

@Loracks: Good on them for honouring it! I wouldn't feel too bad. If that is how that particular store handles these kind of things, then they are bound to retain more customers in the longer run.

A little rough negging, negs are not reserved for your opinion of the product, they are to used typically for price, relative to normal recommended retail or normal everyday retail price. In this instance it's a pretty good deal if it is honoured.

    • -1

I have to agree, never had a good coopers.

  • Ordered a case, I am expecting Dan's to be reasonable and honour the deal, but will have to wait and see.

    • Expect them to be reasonable?? Since when do longnecks come in cases of 24? Have some common sense

      • They advertised a case of 24, ask the team at Dan's. By reasonable I mean that I expect them to honor what they have advertised.

        • +3

I understand what you're saying but I would argue that the reasonable thing to do is understand that humans can make mistakes.

          • @Bigburper: I agree, people make mistakes, if they knock it back there will be no love lost, if they honor the deal then it's a win

            • @eggaz: If a price in store is wrong they always honor it, without fail. I've gotten some ridiculously cheap booze that way.

Might come down to the store, but I imagine the first one in at my local (which, to be fair, is a flagship store) will get it.

      • +1

The confusion comes because their website had two listings at about the same price. One was a case of 12, and one was written in red as an online special for a case of 24. Only 4 cents cheaper which, and now let's be reasonable, nobody would consider a red-letter worthy "special".

  • Thanks OP,

    I'll try my luck tomorrow!

  • Thanks. Have ordered. Will update outcome tomorrow AM.

    • And they can't honour it. They told me its fixed but when I put my post code 3037, it still says $60.95 per case of 24. Refund it is…

  • Where does it say 24? Says 12 for me.

    • Same. They must have updated the site

      • No, still showing the 24 bottles

  • +1

Not sure about the retail version but my dads homebrew of the coopers original larger is absolutely brilliant.
It's dangerously too easy to drink xD

    Might give this a go!

    • +1

Best pint of Coopers I have had was a homebrew.
You might be disappointed with a longie!!

      • Ok cheers for the advice mate (=

  • Dan's give credit for incorrect price on online deals in the past?

  • +1

Dan's seems to have issues with case sizes on occasion. The online storefront and their stock system have a misalignment in bottle qty. They will fulfil the order with a 12 pack by default (as it's what their system will tell them was ordered) - or refund - highly unlikely to honour it from experience.

  • -4

If I wasn't such a craft beer snob, I'd jump at this.

  • +5

They won't honor it. I've had this issue before with them

    • +1

      They just did for me

  • Wouldn’t honour here! Worth a shot. Thanks OP!

  • This is going to be interesting…

  • Anyone have a pic of this showing 24?

  • +1

I just got back from Dan Murphy's and they honoured the deal. I showed them a screen shot from last night of what it looked like online and what it looked like in the shopping cart.

  • +2

Just got back from DM. They wouldn't honour 2 cases, but did one for $30. Thanks OP

  • +2

Thanks OP, great deal if you're able to get it.
    I ordered 2 X $60.95 "Online offer", expecting 48 bottles with fingers crossed…
When I went to pick up, there was only two cases @ 24 bottles, I showed screen shot and politely made my case. They advised I call the Online number, I asked to leave the beer in-store while I called, but the manager proceeded to call and after awhile he asked to see the screenshot and took a copy.
He then explained that the two cases I had were the last ones, but they will refund $60.95 and I can take two cases for $60.95.
I was very happy with the result 😊
    Thank you again OP👍😃

  • Also collected mine tonight and after showing them my screenshots they honoured the deal. I also got Pirate Life IPA and Pale Ale at 24 bottles per case instead of 16

  • +1

They honoured it for me today.

  • I had it honoured too - forgot to comment earlier.
Gave me a box of 12, I said it should be 24 and showed them the screen recording I took, they got the manager over to confirm and handed me another box saying 'someone in the online beers team is going to get their arse kicked for this one!' Haha
