Hmm… 'Morganware is a 100% owned Australian brand and company'. I see weasel words, people! Nothing about where the product is made and packed.

I have no issue with buying products made overseas - I just dislike merchants cloaking their wares in a thin veneer of nationalistic nonsense.

The issue I have is that these weasel words, as you call them, are quite specifically designed to mislead. While a person acting reasonably and prudently would probably, as you have, identify this tactic, the fact that the advertising is appealing to emotion makes it, for me, deliberately misleading.

Totally agreed and I tend to avoid companies that support these misleading advertisements.

The purpose of those words were to help customers unfamiliar with the brand to know that it was a local company. That's all. Get lots of questions/queries about things like that and I try to preempt questions, absolutely not intended to deceive. The product is made and packed in China, and the information will be updated to clarify this.

        Thanks for that response.

I don't actually mind if you don't specify exactly where it was made (although some people might like the info). What I don't like is the '100% owned Australian brand and company' line. Tends to set off my BS meter something awful - and detracts from any attention that I'd otherwise pay to the product you're trying to move.

Keep it simple, keep it straight and I'm happy. :-))

Just lazy writing from me! Thanks for calling me out on it, have made some adjustments. I DO have a BS meter too! It just gets lost under the paperwork sometimes ;)

I have seen a lot of deals from harveynorman big buys lately and it turns out that most of the time the shipping kills the deal or the deal is just not good enough. $37.95 for a dinner set is not a deal. You get dinner sets like this from target for even $25 and good quality mind you. So why is this a deal and where's the big buy?

    • You're not going to get a disagreement from over here. This was a backup BiG BUY because we had our two primary ones fall through at the last minute. This was uhhh not one I was expecting on OzB
