Xiaomi Mi Band 4C (Black) $34 + Delivery @ Dick Smith / Kogan

70

Initially looking for a Mi Band 5, but local stocks are around $60 delivered at the moment. Price is not too bad, consider Malaysia is selling for 99 ringgit, which is roughly 30 AUD.

Google tells me that there is a Mi Band 4C that is yet to be posted on oZB.

Main difference from Mi Band 5
1. TFT screen (oppose to AMOLED)
2. Per point 1, leading to upto 14 days battery life (20 days)
3. No magnetic charging dock - looks like Xiaomi has borrowed Huawei's idea with USB A
4. Fewer exercise programs - 5
5. Does not use Mi Fit app

Not for me as I prefer longer battery life. Would be good if anyone can share local stocks on Mi Band 5 for under $55.

PS. I prefer the sharp of this better. Too bad…

Yeah, saw this about 5 weeks ago when I bought my Mi Band 5 … I like the magnetic charger on the 5 as you dont have to take it out of the strap, and the Mi Fit app is quite useful. I am on 26 days since last charge and it's got 24% battery left …. I would recommend people not to be tight and spend the extra $20 on the Mi Band 5 =)

    • Yes… the magnetic charge dock. Another reason why band 5 for the extra $.

      • Got mine from Kogan for just under $60, i didn't think saving $5-10 and buying from overseas and waiting 4-8 weeks for shipping was worth it, i got mine in about 3-4 days from paying. The little features are an improvement to the Mi Band 4.

  • Obviously not local stock, but AliE sale starts tomorrow, and there'll be plenty of Mi Band 5 stock going for under $40 (before tax, cashback and coupon).

Worth a look, as even the Global and the basic Chinese version are virtually identical, though if you want SpO2, you'll need to get the Chinese NFC version.

Would avoid Aliexpress these days. My recent order is over one month and still counting.

Will pull the trigger later this week on local band 5 even no deal comes up. Wouldnt mind paying $20 for a month's enjoyment.

      • The big sales are exactly when you should order, because that's when they'll fill a plane up and fly direct.

      • Yeh, they were never great, but they have turned to trash in 2020. I put through 3 orders around 60-90 days ago from 3 different sellers. None have turned up. I started disputes but even that process is painful. Some BS about the seller offering a resolution and then you counter-offering. But when you don't agree with the seller resolution, nothing happens. You can't contact AE. There is no Paypal to step in. You need to wait 30+ days for AE to get involved … and I don't even know what that entails. Avoid AE at all costs if you can.

Mi band 5 is $40 on aliexpress + $1 shipping and various vouchers can bring it down further, I recommend you get this.

    • mi band 5 pro or amazefit 6 would be out by the time you get this band

  • Looks like a good watch for the 8th grade

  • The Mi Band 5 is worth it for the reasonably smaller extra cost, if only for the magnetic charging. The battery size is the same as on the Mi Band 5, So I'd be surprised if there is much of a measurable difference anywhere between the two, because although the 5's screen is (.02 inch!) larger, It's an amoled to help with consumption and looks very nice. It's also a high enough resolution to have text not look too poor, like a EGA monitor kind of days.

Now you've made me go all sentimental…
