In case anyone wondering, this is not Samsung b-die.

    • is samsung b-die the best one to go for? what is the difference?

      complete noob here

      • B-Die is the best if you're thinking of overclocking your RAM

        • what about if i just wanted to use it in an amd system? 3950x or 3960x? but dont plan to overclock

          • +2

@towfoo: You shouldn't have any problems - you don't need to be overclocking 3600MHz RAM.

          • +1

            @towfoo: No issue for 3950x

    • Where to get some sweet b-die? :s

        • That's a great site, but unfortunately the cheapest 32gb c16 3600 I could find is $406. Hard to justify that price difference.

I paid $285 on ebay plus for this kit in the deal post last week. Good price OP!

          • @TheLurker: Yep, you do pay more for Samsung B-die over Hynix. Just depends on what you want to do with your RAM. If you are looking to overclock your RAM on a Ryzen system, B-die or Micron E-die are generally considered to be the best bets. If you're just sticking the RAM in the sockets and not doing anything, you probably won't notice any appreciable difference going with a kit like this with worse timings.

            • @Ori0n: Waiting for a Fuma 2 cooler and I'll get into my first time attempting overclocking since 2001. Have a Ryzen 4650G which has a faster infinity fabric.

Someone got it up to 3156.1Mhz (DDR-6312) recently - https://valid.x86.fr/f83hg9

My current x570i bios tops out at DDR-4400 but with this C RAM and air cooling I'll see how I go.

  • What happened to RAM getting cheaper :-s

      RGB Tax?

By all reports, RAM and flash storage are still in excess supply so they should be slowly coming down soon. At the same time, I tend to take rumours on RAM and flash storage prices with a massive grain of salt. Supply might be high but demand for flash storage/RAM changes very quickly and predicting pricing is not dissimilar to predicting the stock market…

With that in mind, I bought my RAM sticks recently. Demand will shoot up with a ton of people buying new RAM for their Zen 3/Ampere/RDNA2 builds and the new consoles coming out in November. Up to you on whether you wait for further reductions or buy now and live with any price reductions that may happen in the future.

      This went from $279 (16/08) to $269 (29/08) to $249 now?

How else would you describe that if not getting cheaper?

My bad. You think it will reach $200 come Christmas time?

      • +1

Price at PCCaseGear/Mwave 2 months ago was $349 as well. I've already made two price protection claims, this is becoming a lot of work.

  • Paid $279 + del for this just over a month ago. Seems to be a great price. Also happy with my purchase as it looks great in my case.

    • What die did you get?

      • This set is Hynix

      • I believe it's the same as this deal? Same model number and everything

      • +1

        Most likely Hynix DJR

  • isn't this normal price?

    it's $240 at Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/global/au-en/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr…

    • +4

No the one you linked is a cheaper model with 18 timing instead of 16.

  • Dumb question but i wouldn't have any issues using this with the next gen chips would I?

    • Nope this will work fine with the Zen 3 chips coming next month

  • They also have G-Skill Ripjaws DDR4 3600 CL16 for $119 + delivery

      16GB

      • oops…

  • Dang, that's a great price, i purchased the 3200mhz kit for like $270 4 months back

  • Thanks OP.
Been looking for a deal on these neo sticks for a while now. Bought a set for my amd build.

  • Any deals on a Trident Z Neo 16gb 3600 cl14?

Looking to add another 2x 8gb to current setup

  • Thanks OP, just bought it and upgrading my current 16 GB to 32 GB. Great price!

  • hmmm, good price, must resist

  • +1

Excuse my noobieness here, but can you use this with Intel CPU's?
    I current have i9-9900KF with a Z390-F MoBo.

    • I'm no expert, but it certainly will work. If it works with your existing memory is a different question if overclocking. If your existing ram stays then it may constrain the memory speed so this stuff won't reach its potential.

Others may have more informed comments to share

    • I too am wondering if these would allow you to use xmp profiles and reach their 3600 speed on an Intel 8700 and z390-e board or if it would cap at 2133. Anyone test them?

      • Tested this RAM on XMP yesterday with an x570 AMD board and it detected stock 3600 16-19-19-39 speeds instantly. Cool, stable and snappy. I don't know your kit but don't see any issue.

  • If anyone is wondering why these neo's are so popular, they were essentially designed specifically for ryzen. At CL16 and 3600mhz is where the performance sweet spot is for the ryzen 3000 chips. You can increase speed and tighten timings up to cl14, not as much gain and only when you go beyond 3866mhz do you start seeing minute performance gains.

These are wonderful sticks of ram, would not overclock them because you simply do not need to. The rgb is great, if the color isn't you thing automotive paint can correct it at very little cost.

  • No stock =(

    • Yeh, unless they're planning to restock, looks like all gone!

  • Yup no stock
