  • This is a great initiative - well done OUP.

    • Yeah, Right.

I'm sure most high school students will go far into a huge number of 700pp tombs, in a 2 or 3 weeks "demo/sample-period"

This is Marketing, not Helping, IMO… at least, when compared to Springers "giveaway" Deal hear, withing recent memory.

Of course, there are "Speed-Readers" out there, so… one can get an idea what some of the course (behind) the books might cover, by browsing each one, in spare moments.

(Spoiler Alert: The chapter on Atomic Energy (or similar) in the Physic book I scanner is pretty slim… better: eg, Always Free to access+d'load:

      • MIT OCW 21.01 (by Micheal Short)

…or any other course(s) in MIT's OpenCourseWare collection, most fairly recent… PLUS you get Lectures (human voice(s) can make learning both easier & more fun, eg, if the professor has a SOH; & the good ones do).

      • OUP's "Short Intro's" series may be a more practical source of info - from ~648 books - for a 2-3 week demo.

As it is now, though, you can only see ToC's & Abstracts of each chapter (but these can be useful, to some); have a look:

But… there's No Time-Limit (so, you'll have plenty of time, in the COVID' era, to get thru most, if not all: 5,093 Chapters).

        Get reading!

        • VSI's are also available from Audible, eg, for the visually impaired. 'dunno the costs, though.

5 minutes of reading and already found a factual error in a book. So much for the reputation of OUP.

@adhin: Yes it worked, thanks for that. But stopped working after the first download, probably to discourage multiple downloads.

      • Sorry downloading of this pdf is suspended by the websmater due to a complaint of the owner of the document.

It says ‘don’t share the link widely’

    • However there are no T&Cs prohibiting sharing the link

      • It's just funny that's all

  • Highly recommend https://unpaywall.org/

can u pls eleborate more?never use it before

      • It seems too be an open data base

  • lol @ O Levels. They were replaced with GCSE's in 1988.

    • +1

I believe the link taking to an international version and still some countries have GCE O Levels and A Levels

  • Not very useful for VCE, but quite helpful for IB students. The fact that you don't have to sign up to view the resources is great.
